12.25.2008 - 13:35 | Gold_TSGExcellent review, Spoony. Agreed for the most part of pretty much everything. No complaints from me.

I still disagree with you about Indy 4. I thought it was a great movie, but I've already gone over that, and I'm not about to rehash it again.
But as for best movies of 08, you forgot The Incredible Hulk. Or as I call it "The Incredible Hulk, (no really we got it right this time)" It's just as good as Iron Man (although in a completely different way)
I still love your videos and reviews though, so keep up the good work and I look forward to even better stuff in 09.

I wonder if Spoony played Fable 2. I thought that would be shoe in for one of his awards. Personally I thought it was a little underwhelming, but for the same reasons Spoony thought Fallout 3 is, only in Fable 2 it's a little worse for me and I don't walk away with nearly as much enjoyment from it as I did with Fallout 3.
Uwe Boll will be the death of you Spoony. I know you keep watching those garbage movies he puts out just to rip on him, but I worry about you... :'(

12.25.2008 - 13:51 | TremblingBluStarJust finished the video, and I agree with you for the most part. I'm not a huge console gamer, so I can't comment on the console games. However, I agree 100% with the movies. Though, to be fair, I don't think anybody who is a gamer could objectively discuss an Uwe Boll flick.
Merry Christmas everybody, and Happy New Year!

I'll be sure to check out some of the stuff you thumbs-upped.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too.

12.25.2008 - 14:49 | rydiafanThe worst part of Diary of the Dead was Romero's inability to even stick to the concept of a handheld camera film. He used external cameras for dramatic shots and threw in some BS about "hacking security cameras".

This year by far the two worst mainstream releases would have to be Dave and Mama Mia. Dave was like watching a 90 minute crack fantasy on meth. Oh how you have fallen Mr. Murphy. Mama Mia well, I could go on and on and on about this shit fest. I can say we can see the end of Meryl Streep's career in the 1st 10 minutes of the film. I've seen grow men try to fling themselves from a theater balcony rather than watch this crap.

The name is J.K. Simmons^^ but you already mentioned, that you will do a spontanious review of what's still in your mind without any research.
Also I think it's kinda ironic that you say you are a 28 year old who has no interest in playing with virtual dolls, but in your last scene, you ask your plastic doll if he has anything to say.
Yes, Uwe Boll made alot of bad movies and I kinda feel sorry to be german :P , but IMO Postal wasn't that bad of a movie.
Anyway happy holidays to you and everyone else on this always entertainig site

Good stuff Spoony...now I know you touched on this in an earlier video, but I was wondering your overall impression of Dead Space...I wouldn't call it the game of the year but I loved it and thought it was one of the better sci-fi/horror games I have seen....happy holidays to you and looking forward to your videos in 20098)

Yeah, Fallout 3's ending was pretty lame. =/
Apparently, there are 3 expansion packs coming out over the next 3 months, and the last one will retcon/change the ending and raise the level cap. It's only for the 360 or PC, though, so I hope you have either of those versions.
Oh, and Merry Christmas too. ;3

Nice review as always, I agree with everything except for I never played Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3, or Little Big Planet, I've been too busy living in the past and playing Final Fantasy IV(II) & VI(III), Super Mario RPG, and Chrono Trigger(It's ironic that their all RPG's). The newest game I've played is Metal Gear Solid 4.
Damn Spoony your 28? Forgot your like a decade older than me. At least you don't look that old. I'm gonna look like I'm 40 when I hit 28, I age too fast, I already look older than you and I'm still in high school.

12.25.2008 - 17:32 | Film Brain
Godd to hear you liked Burn After Reading, I found that extremely funny at the cinemas, but only real issue was with its pointlessness, which made the film funny in the first place, but left me sort of empty inside.
The Dark Knight is, of course, my film of the year.
I noticed you didn't discuss WALL-E? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on that (personally, I thought it was another best of contender)
I was planning to see The Spirit, but the reviews have now revealed lots of really stupid bits and I think I'll just ignore it.
Where was Disaster Movie or Meet the Spartans? I was surprised not to see Quarrantine on your list for worst given your hilarious rant on it.

Your movies part went right on but best games apart had some things were I disagree (and some might hate me from pointing my own opinion). Gears of War 2 was not good game althought it was bad either. It was that kind of game that you won't remember next year. Also Fallout 3 was just Oblivion with guns. FPS-style just didn't fit in to whole Fallour series.

12.25.2008 - 22:18 | Kamen Rider KivaSpoony shoudl ge this own talk show. Like the o'riely factor but about comcis and games (video and tabletop).
I thought Punisher Warzone and The Incredible Hulk were pretty good this year. The worst film (which I didn't see because I read the book and I know that it sucks) is Twilight.
-
You don't like dressing up dolls. But you do enjoy playing with them, as we've seen in your previous vidoes? =D
And no, I'm not a 'LittleBigPlanet-fanboy' in fact I've never played it..
Happy holidays!

about postal and dungeon siege
Postal the game is fun and offensive yes it is simple but i prefer postal any day over HL2
Postal the movie yes it was a little too much but overall kept the spirit and was fun
Dungeon siege 1 the game: way better than never winter nights every day (just had to publicly say it)
Dungeon siege the movie: yes it took liberties but for once was really close to the story of the game (but the way transporter 3 sucks, drunken cameraman
games you may not have counted (yes I am a PC guy)
Dead space really good
TR underworld has Norse mythology raped (it really bad)
nfs undercover (persistent with plot points that would have meaning if you could chose any thing)
farcry 2 ( rhetorical are you kidding me it's boiling point with better graphics and for some reason in the same line as HL2 and Red Faction 2
in not following the scenario of damn previous one)
space siege (well not sure it's a 2008) (take a guess dungeon siege ripoff in space)
not really sure either
call of duty 4 modern warfare ( demonstrating their lack of imagination for scenarios)
soldier of fortune 3 ( plainly just bad)
overall 2007-2008 how many heroic fantasy games do we need
other overall past 4 years mostly depressed and bored when going to the game store (yes i had to get a social life to compensates for the lack of playable games i do mean those that are good)

Speed Racer, Twilight, Alvin And The Chipmunks, etc. etc. etc...
This wasn't the year for kid's movies.

12.26.2008 - 03:36 | Ur-QuanSpot on with Fallout 3. Fun game, but holy GOD that ending sucked.
