That's for doors they can't pick the locks off. They also help for intimidation, which really is a big factor when playing this game. I believe I already said this in an earlier comment on another LPSWAT4 video, but criminals actually have an intimidation factor, they respond to things like having gunfire go past them and stuff like that.

I died 42 times playing this mission...I know exactly how you feel! (I played on Veteran difficulty)
And with the bulled proofed west of the police...The are designed to hold of pistol shoots/small calabier and knifes. Holding off a AK 47...You need more to hold off one of these ; )
greetings from Munich B)

Was that Reynolds that shot you at 13:07?
Maybe you were in his way?

Spoony,
One strategy that I use (when the grenades seem to have no effect) is to do away with with the clearing command and just use the "move to" command. For example, when coming up to a room that has baddies hidden behind blind corners, open the door and just move your squad in with the"move to" command. They seem to react better to surprises and, in general, spot baddies better this way. You also have better control of where your squad goes this way as well.

like alot of games, this one wasn't polished and plays like shit. soon, CoD4:MW2 will be out. the safe bet says that the game will be exactly the same. your team will be useless, the enemies will only see you, your team will be in your way, you won't hit shit with bullets, yet enemies will have pin point acuracy.
all these games are a waste of money and time. just a way to rip people off
company of heros was garbage too, but atleast you could leave your useless team behind and go solo. but nothing like point blank rifle bullets that hit yet miss
can anyone name a game since wolf:et that is not a waste of $ (yes, wolf:et is free, i know)

You know, watching these videos actually made me break down and buy the game ($20 download on GameStop's website, BTW). I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY, SPOONY!
Just kidding. In all serious, though, it's a good game, but it can be really aggravating. I've already made it to the arms deal mission and I'm stuck on that right now. Keep making these videos, though, the commentary is awesome.
Spoony, you are without a doubt my favorite reviewer. Your videos are hilarious, the Let's Play Swat 4 is always great. I feel bad that so many other fans pressure you for FF 8 stuff, it really sounds like you're in pain with that one now. Always look forward to your vids. I thought you were going to go with less Cowboy Spoony in the later videos though? Granted with as much friendly fire kills that happened you may have been safer alone.
