It's amazing how this went over the head of so many people on Spoony's site. Though I'm sure alot of them are just Final Fantasy fanboys in disguise who just want to undermine Spoony for speaking blasphemy upon FF!

I'll never get people who limit their RPG gameplay to one character or no magic or whatnot, though when I first played Final Fantasy I actually restarted early on and played with only a group of 4 Fighters, but that was only because of how simple it was. I regretted that later in the game though.

I remember when I did the quest for Bahamut and he changed my Fighters into Knights, it was the coolest thing I'd seen in a game. It lead to my first geek moment the next day at school when I told my friends about it and they just stared at me awkwardly since they had never heard of Final Fantasy.

And boy, Doctor Insano has not aged well, you'd think SCIENCE could help him with that.

yeah our belief of time travel is all based on specualtion for all we know we coulkd go back in time to kill our grandfathers and it may or may not become null and void for all we know we could actually kill our grandfathers but by some miracle we're still born to go back in time and kill our grandfathers hell for all we know time travel paradoxes are bull shit and instead of going back in time the past of the history of our own world we instead go back in time to the past of an identical world on the multiverse. But I'm just saying we have know idea how time works be it in ripples or in waves or hell in retarded ducks killing themselves we will never know.

I think it's a bunch of things. The video made us think he would bash FF8, but he didn't, and then I know he's mentioned being a fan of Final Fantasy (at least prior to , so I'm sure hating FF1 was a joke too. The Dr. Insano bit might've just been for kicks, I don't know if it was a "prank."

If you're having problems seeing the video (like a black screen), you probably need to disable any adblocker software you have for this site. Blip sometimes runs pre-roll ads before videos, and I think that's what you're getting hung up on.

I still hope that that is the Origion of Dr. Insano though. His fans forcing him to review Final Fantasy VIII driving him to a life of insane science, so he could travel back in time to take over the world and get revenge on those who drove him to madness, with science and the power of the presidency!

also, the ending of your review reminds me a shitload like Timesplitters futureperfect, where jacob crow, the main villian, goes back in time and tells his younger self about blah blah blah, and the younger crow does tell mad hatter jacob, but why?

timesplitters was incredibble, but the plot always sucumbs to the damn time travels, and that dosent even get into, the time you save youself, literally! lol

oh yeah, the four stones part is fairly new for its time, but yes, reeated like hell, where a plot revolved around objects. Im tired of it, piriod!

This really had me on the floor. I have seen some crazy ass reviews but this takes the cake. On my list, the one rpg that beats all on the WTF factor was final fantasy 10. The combat was nothing to complain about but the plot felt like it was made through 20 trips of LSD. Anyways, great review, can wait to see more.

but honestly, even if FFX wasn`t good compared to other games of the series (I really did think Seymour was a very qweak villain) I honestly liked the game. I mean come on. It wasn`t "brilliant" but still it wasn`t as bad as now FF8 or XII. I always hear "FFX was crap" and... I don`t want to be some angsty fanboy but "come on". Tghere are thinks to complain like "no real freedom to explore this world" but better as FFXII or this piece of crap called X-2 (which is only for fans wo want to jerk of by seeing Yuna a la Lara Croft) was the game at all.

When I watched this I was thinking "It's april 1st, only a joke. Nothing to rage about. Just April Fool's Trolling. Nothing to rage about..." as my rage started building up to the point where I was like "JUST SAY APRIL FOOLS ALREADY BEFORE I EXPLODE!!!". And Luckilly it came.

I personally love Final Fantasy 1 for the NES, since it is the game that saved Square and gave birth to one of the greatest videogame series. The game it self is great on it's own, all of it's flaws were pointed out by Spoony. (Which shows that you can make "hate videos" for almost anything).

I call this a successful April Fool's Video that almost had me punching the computer screen in anger.

What exactly was incorrect? Yes, Final Fantasy 1 saved Square, which is fortunate, but was it really that good a game?

A while back I replayed 6 again for fun (and it WAS fun), but after having played 1 for a while I think I'm going to give it up. The encounter balance is just too broken, and up to 9 enemies in the same random battle? It takes forever to get anywhere!

So, apart from the ability to choose classes for your characters at the start of the game, where is its better qualities?

well compared to many other nes titles ff1 offered a much bigger story then other games at the time also garland is one of the most intimidating villains of the series if you play dissidia you know what this guy is like he is a machine, also this game featured the four fiends which apeared in ff9 as well you can c how it all began, sure its not perfect, my issue with it is the targeting and how you can attack open space. it is my least favorite final fantasy except for maybe 12 but it is still a good game that is full of nostalgia i hope you do talk about all the games even though i love them i can take jokes and im curious what flaws if any you can find with ff4 and ff6 which in my opinion are the two best games of the series.

When I saw that there was the 10th part of the FFVIII review already, I knew it couldn't be anything to do with FFVIII itself and I was right. I really liked this satirical review of the original Final Fantasy and even though this was a joke review, I didn't think FFI was fantastic (I've only played the GBA remake, BTW D, but for its time, it was good.

Also, I'm surprised at how many people are taking this review seriously. It was an April Fools' joke, so why take his thoughts on FFI literally?
