Hey Channel Awesomaniacs, Lee here with a quick update.
My PC's been toast for just a bit over three weeks now, but everything is about on track thanks to a lifesaver offering to replace my toasty motherboard. My PC should be fixed by Monday.
The upcoming Still Gaming episodes will be done in the same format as Punch-Out!!, so if you think something was 'missing' in this episode, it'll have to be that way for almost all of July since I'm putting this whole show together on a laptop that was considered 'low-end' when I bought it four years ago.
Episode 5 of the Lee & Z Show will be on TGWTG.com on Friday! Episode 6 will be out the following Saturday. We haven't recorded Episode 7 yet, but we're shooting for a last week of July/first week of August release.
The next Still Gaming review should be out Thursday, July 16.
i believe i heard somewhere that after the lawsuits and court time Mike faced they changed the ending character to Mr. Dream ..... ouch :X
His contract ran out before the legal stuff. Nintendo mainly opted not to renew his contract 'cause he lost the title.

FINALLY one of the many game reviewers on this site made a Punch-Out review. Great stuff, Lee. :)
...and if you think Piston Honda 2 on the NES is hard wait until you fight Bald Bull 2 or Mr. Sandman.
Also, Malcorl the Wii version does indeed have the jogging sequence AND the pink jogging suit so get this game ASAP. B)

07.07.2009 - 20:20 | MindOfCrazyPerson222I have this game and love it. And I use the motion control all the time, I don't care if it makes the game even harder.

07.07.2009 - 21:42 | Disinformationyour way of reviewing is great
**
Wow, two separate videos in which you make a general "Wii is crap" comment. I have a feeling this might be a trend for you.
Anyways, Great review, Lee, though I'd generally maintain that the versus mode shouldn't have ever been implemented in the first place, due to Punch-Out operating more as an action/puzzle series instead of a more legitimate/regular fighting game franchise, but that's jus tme.

Ah....Von Kaiser....ZEE UPPERCUT!
Good vid, Lee. This game has almost single-handedly given me a reason to buy a wii. I loved the first 2 punch out games, and this one looks great as well.
Think I'm outta plug-ins though..... :pinch:

I've been hoping one of you guys here would make a Punch-Out review. Just needed that extra OOMPH off the fence to decide whether or not to buy it, since I never played the old one. Didn't want to waste time with professional reviews since they tend to be crap (and I'm not even checking to see if Yahtzee has reviewed it, because as funny as he is, he and I tend to disagree a bit more often than we agree). Well, I think I will. Looks fun.
But of course the motion control sucks. It nearly always does on the Wii, doesn't it? Here's hoping the Wii Motion Plus helps that some.

I VERY much enjoyed this game, despite also being rather late to the party. (Only played the NES one twice at a friend or so before getting it on the Wii console), the way it allows you to absolutely DEMOLISH nearly anyone once you get the timing down for the trickier stuff can make for some hugely satisfying moments!

"2004 was a great year."
Wow, that was like looking myself in the mirror. Granted, I wasn't really there to play the original when it came out but in 2004 I remember getting this game in Animal Crossing wondering what the hell it was, only to later realize that the game was one of my favorites on the NES. I'm going to get an authentic cartridge someday. Someday...

07.08.2009 - 04:04 | scottydu81did he play the same game as me? i had absolutely no problems with the waggle controls. i made it all the way to bald bull in just a bunch of hours (over the weekend, of course) using nothig but the waggle. the response seemed pretty spot on to me, and playing the game old NES style just seems to defeat the purpose!
