06.07.2009 - 05:19 | Lee is Still Gaming - Director's Notes
Hey, Lee here. If this is the first Still Gaming episode you've ever watched, I'm sorry.
Here's an example of a more recent, related review: Still Gaming Reviews Mega Man 9The Mega Man Legends review represents Series 1 of Still Gaming as a whole. I was still very new at making videos and editing. This video was made when I had 2 months of experience with anything, but it still turned out well, all things considered. This is still a fan-favorite, though, and I know Mega Man Legends fans get a kick out of it.
I'm never going to go back and remake my work, but as Mega Man Legends was an incomplete review, will there be a part 2..? Hmmmmmmm....!
Thanks for all the support, Channel Awesomaniacs!

Guess with all that fighting Mega Man forgot that not everything with sharp teeth is pure evil.

BULLSHIT!! i just watched the playthrough and before that i was watching your channal and you posted this inbetween those events. Really wierd. I really liked MML, MML2, and the misadventures of Tron Bonee.
I suggest you play the last one. Because it is the best in the series.

Blatant animal abuse equals fun, huh? What next? Rip the wings off a fly in a timed mini-game?
Offtop: The Raziel action figure in the background is really cool

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever understand why the earth blows up at the end of your videos, but as for the game, I though it was okay. RPGs really aren't my thing...unless it's Pokemon...sorry.

I Fuckin hated this game when I was younger & it came out.
But as an oldschool Megaman fan & an adult now,I think I will give it another shot.
Besides,I was probably ignorant & impatent with the new gameplay and style back then...
Good review, I sure never thought I'd see one for this game...
Mad props for this one

Heart of Darkness is known for it's violent death scenes (I've played the PC version) and it got an E too!

Wait, seriously? I saw most of the deaths in that game, and they were brutal!

Legends wasn't a bad series, all told. It has a quarky plot and doesn't try to overreach itself or pretend to be more than a third person shooter with a loose Mega Man theme.
I played Legends 2 first and honestly, it didn't make a difference as far as knowing what was going on. You are Mega Man, you raid dungeons for gemstone MacGuffins, inept bad guys try to stop you. Rinse, repeat. It's not a bad formula.
I think honestly, the thing that irked me most was that the translators insisted on calling him 'Mega Man' at all times. It sounds somewhere between hilarious and and ridiculous to hear someone constantly being called Mega Man in casual conversation by his surrogate sister. Would it killed them to have called him Rock?

Love this review Lee. This game wasn't great, but it was enjoyable. Defnitiely not in my top 10 bad videogame purchases.

06.07.2009 - 01:14 | YukoValis - yep
I still say this was a great game, but most people didn't seem to like it ESPECIALLY "professional" reviewers even when their fans like it. It was new ground at the time, and for that it was well done. Now it's a bit too easy sure, but all around a classic.

1998? Man, I feel old again.
I picked up both games used and feel that they were a solid purchase. The action is clean, but I had targeting issues like the ones you brought up. Personally, I have to say that MML2 had the better bosses.

I hate this game. Megaman in 3D 3rd person game didn't work as well as olfd school 2D platformer onces. It just didn't have that same greatness that those old platformer Megaman games had.
Over all it was not bad game but it surely was worse than previous parts in franchise.

06.07.2009 - 04:00 | Teh_ODD_Fox - Incest?!
Um isn't Roll MegaMan's sister?
I'm guessing flipper children can be seen in the future for those two, I guess that might be where Splash Woman came from.

No, Roll and Barrel (her grandfather) found Megaman and adopted him. They're not actually related.
-
06.07.2009 - 05:14 | Animegirlzzzzzzz - Well...
At least it wasn't the N64 version.
I can't comment on the controls since I didn't own an N64 but the audio clips in that version were quite crappy given the cart basing of the system.
Besides that, Megaman Legends, why not!

06.07.2009 - 05:40 | Ecco - I love this game!
Cool review. I agree that the game is underappreciated.
And I too remember the trailer from the OPM demo disc...that got me hooked on buying the game as well. A bit off topic, but those demo discs were great back in the day.

man, you need more earth exploding, it's been missing from your newer videos!
-
06.07.2009 - 06:10 | RedCoyote - Funny thing...
Actually, because of the control scheme in this game, what with you having to rotate the camera to get Mega Man to turn left and right, that's roughly how I've controlled a bunch of other characters in other games; it's easier to control it like that and keep the camera centered rather than turning and having to slam down on L3 or R3 or select or whatever every two seconds to re-align the camera.

The way you reviewed this one kinda reminded me of spoony. But since its like 2 years old its probably a coincedence
-
06.07.2009 - 06:31 | Lee is Still Gaming
Most of the early reviews were like this. Still Gaming started in December 2006 and the Spoony Experiment started in January 2007. Pretty sure any similarities are just coincidences.

Megaman Legends wasn't too bad in my opinion, actually it was pretty good. The controls weren't really that bad once you get the hang of it, like any other game, and the story was... interesting.
