The original submitted video description (which I guess got lost in the shuffle before the video was posted to the site) stated that this was just a personal Top 10 list

Everyone has different opinions. It should go without saying that a Top 10 list is opinion and not fact 99.9% of the time. I noticed that most videos that list their favorite openings usually don't even go into the 1990s, so I figured this would be a fresh look. I know that there's a huge generation gap with a lot of people watching this vid, but it's just a personal Top 10. Cowboy Bebop was maybe 12th on the list, but since Suede already covered it, I decided to give attention another show that few talk about such as Urusei Yatsura.

Awesome list! I definitely agree Hokuto No Ken has the best OP, I personally would've had One Piece's "We Are" somewhere on that list but that's just me. Oh and the OP for Sailor Stars is better than Series S in my opinion. And yes! I finally found someone else on this site who agrees that Evangelion sucks!

Cause Naruto sucks so much shit I cant even describe it worse enough (nah, I can, but its not even worth my time). Naruto would be so more awesome if every single character there died except Kakashi (& that chick from training with nice boobs).

He who put any of the ones he had in his opening because I thought lucky star would be in there and plus Naruto was in swayed list but it was not as good as everyone says it is it like it but it's slightly overrated one-piece is better in luffe could take Naruto

Sailor Moon was my first anime too Lee. Don't feel bad. You should do the team videos more often! It's funny to have to two playing off of each other. Lee is clearly always prepared too, he had the Yugi opening ready even though he had no idea Dena was going to crash his top 5 list. Lee is as prepared as Batman!

Urusei Yatsura Movies. IF you gotta see anime those movies are it. I saw them a million times. These days it's lost in the shuffle. Those movies honestly I didn't mind being a super geek then.

I always wondered that about the series, I mean one well placed sniper round in the skull, no time to react, no time to do anything. Bam, world is saved. But no, let's keep the World Destroyer walking around doing dances that make people make colossal asses of themselves at anime cons.

Good top 10, even if any of it isn't in my list, except for Haruhi. Damn, I don't even know most of these anime. But where's the opening of the new Fullmetal? Last opening of Death Note? Elfen lied..?

Nice list though I think doing a top ten of this calibur should've been done in different eras of anime instead of the forty years worth of anime opening and endings.

Just my thoughts but it is a nice list since I liked most of those ones you chose Lee.

Damn good Vid, Mr Lee. You're not alone in holding Sailor Moon as the inspiration to search out Anime from Japan. Technically, the first anime I saw was Cardcaptors (Yes, that, not Cardcaptor Sakura), but it was that twin tailed blondie that made me seek out japanese language dubs.

I do agree about Evangelion, unless you were just doing it for the "shock value" lol. I hated Shinji and I just never saw what made people go nuts over it. Some parts were good, the ending is batshit insane and bordering on the "What did I just watch and why did I watch all of this to get that?" Maybe at the time it came out it was something, but I just couldn't come away liking that anime too much.

The ending for Fist of the North Star actually made straight up laugh out loud with how you called it. So funny XD

Great work Lee. I myself didn't know a lot of the anime, but what I did know, I agreed with. I would've had the Paradise Kiss ending somewhere there, just because it has Franz Ferdinand. And I love Franz Ferdinand.
And yeah, Wendee Lee is in every anime conceived. She's like a mix between Dave Grohl and Josh Homme. In female voice actor form.

Well if the list was longer, I'd suggested one of the Inuyasha OPs, a Bleach OP, or one of the many Gundam series OPs

For me, Rahxephon and Kimagure Orange Road had Great songs, but I hated both anime.

Sorcerer Hunters, Slayers most of them. Fantastic Theme songs.

God why do I feel the need to answer what I know are rhetorical questions. Shinji was chosen because only a few children in the world have the ability to properly sync with the Evas. Eva 1 was also best suited for Shinji, because Shinji's dad, the dick that he is, ended up combining his wife's soul into Eva 1. This is why Eva 1 seemed hate Gendo and Rai so much

I would actually agree that Eva is overrated. I love the story, the psycological elements, the religious iconography, and the action scenes are good too...but overall, it isn't as entertaining as some other anime out there that could be considered brain dead in their story and characters. As an art film though, End of Evangelion is perfect.

Everyone knows that most anime today is just contrived, boring, manufactured bullshit, and that real anime was from the eighties and nineties.

Interesting list. I only agree on a few of the series you picked for candidates on a top 10 list, but everything is down to personal preference, and all the openings and ending you picked are really cool. How could you not have an opening by JAM Project in the list though?! But you didn't just pick things from series that are less then five year old so thats great.

The second that warning screen came on for the number 1 spot, I went, "Wait a minute. Is it...? Is he really going to...? Oh shit, I think it's going to be...! Please let it be...!" And then the light flashed over Kenshiro's face, the guitar started up, and I shrieked "YES!!!" True story.

I'm very impressed. Most of the top 10 opening/ending videos you see on YouTube are mostly collections from very recent anime with no love paid to older stuff. I suppose that's just because most fans nowadays just haven't heard of the older stuff, but in that case, what place do they have determining a top 10 list? Why not just have a countdown of personal favourites? That's what I did on my YouTube account. I couldn't come up with a good objective list, so I made a massive list of personal faves*. At least your list, while clearly being a list of favourites for the most part, does offer an attempt at partial objectivity. This is mainly done through the inclusion of Dena's picks and the acknowledgment of Evangelion despite your personal distaste for it. It's impossible to give justice to all the deserving openers and closers in one top ten list, so it's good just to see a variety of genres and time periods represented even if some will feel that specific shows are missing.

Anyway, good job Lee! Keep gaming, and watch out for that wascally Wendy!

Got to say that I know nothing about anime. The only shows on that list I knew were Dragonball, Sailor Moon and Yu Gi Oh. But those openings were SO COOL, miles better then anything we have.
