Me and my friend Kyle bought this co-oped it. Tried to beat it on nightmare mode. Got our asses handed to us. Also looking up and down didn't happen till Star Wars: Dark Forces.

06.28.2009 - 01:43 | Madpotator - I hate those invisible monsters
When I played Doom the first time I was really young (6 or something). We had the game's shareware version on a compilation disc. I was really scared to go into that cramped place where the pink monsters were hiding. Even worse were those invisible monsters in that room with the broken lights because I couldn't see them almost at all. :s I think I played the game on a relatively easy difficulty so it wasn't that bad though.
This Still playing is bringing back memories. Great work Lee. Maybe I'm going to buy this from Steam since I have yet to try the whole horror.

Indeed Quake was first FPS with option to use mouse look that enabled seeing up and down.

Your name is not Dena indeed. I hope she was in the room when you said that.

Duke 3D had that before Quake.

Sorry to disappoint you both, but the first game was Terminator: future shock, a very underrated and oftenly forgotten game. Also enemies had bodyparts more sensitive to gunfire than others, just saying. Also sweet video - takes me back to childhood

Hm, this game wasn't released in Germany. With the only exception being the GBA version, it's still indexed.

Doom2 is fairly much the same as Doom, except without divided into 3 parts, no map between levels, and more monsters, with another shotgun (double barrelled).
Some unintentional hilarity in this..."an...asian...sound effect...a gong", "i might die, which will make the game more difficult" and deciding to use the rocket launcher in the winding, narrow tunnel.
I agree completely about how Doom is scary, lots of games use darkness and monsters jumping out, but Doom did it so well.

Doom scared me even when I played it for the first time seriously about 4 years ago.
And, ironically, your video gave me head ache, exactly like my uncle told me had when playing doom when HE was my age!
Great videos, I will go to the end!

Modern Gamer who dosent play mostly FPS's?
DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!!!!!!!!I kid (I'm trying to cut back on my FPS playtime, playing World at War for 8 hours a day, every day may be fun but is not healthy).
You should do Wolfenstien 3D, i bought it off PSN, and its just as fun killing Mecha-Hitler as i remember.

I think they could have at least "re-skinned" the game for the release on XBLA. Don't get me wrong, I love Doom like the next guy but wouldn't it have been neat if they had done to Doom what they did to Double Dragon?

06.28.2009 - 13:37 | Rigardo - About Nightmare mode
If you want to get that achievement called nightmare be ready for lots of pain, basically I could only do it on the first stage, and there are lots of changes to enemies, they will literally teleport next to you sometimes so the best and fastest way to beat it is to run through every door and leave the monsters alone because just one can take your health down to 30 or 10.

Your voice is hilarious, I mean no disrespect. It makes these videos so entertaining. Get some jobs doing voice work, I can hear it now in an animated feature film.
