I wish it could come out in English. I'm sure it won't but thanks for the rundown ^_^. I would so get Ultimate Stars because I mostly play 2P through online games. Some of those characters I would absolutely love to play with or against. It's kinda like the Mario vs. Sonic thing but say, with Luffy vs. Goku.

At least it'd be good for me to see how far my Nihongo's coming!

A Shonin Jump. I had as much glee as I did for the Super Robot Wars vid. I mean look at my pic. If they ever create a translated version of this i'd buy it.

I remember being in this program when my friend Chris let me play Jump Super Stars oh my god.

I fucking love this game I really felt in love with it.

Super Smash Bros. is good however I do love anime much more so that's why I play this game.

I never did play those RPGs neither have I played the sequel to Jump Super Stars.

But I do recommend the game to importers.

You know, I found this game in best buy a while back and had no idea it wasn't translated (pretty much dicked around and played a guessing game till I found a walkthrough online). Even though I had no idea what any of the menus meant, I was able to figure it out through experimentation. So, its not that hard to play if you don't Japanese (cept for the story mode, I was totally f*cked first time I tried story mode).

Great review, I can clearly see why this why this game is next to unplayable if you don't know Japanese or at least have some help. It's a shame since the game seems great to play, with characters from many of my favorite animes.

I hope the game would come out in english but I doubt it due to copyright laws like what happen with SRW (although I could be wrong since they are all connected to shojin Jump)

its too bad there arent many good fighters on the ds (especially because its my fav genre.) Now i don't wanna sound like im plugging something, but an alternative is Bleach: Dark Souls, i know there are a lot of bleach haters, but if u look past this u will a great fighting game.

Great stuff. I imported both of them and loved them. The one drawback I had is the DS Download Play doesn't give you many characters to choose from, so it pretty much needs multiple copies to play it with other people.

I was really surprised with how well the online was. Playing with people from Japan, the online was pretty smooth, with a little bit of lag.

Battle Stadium D.O.N was alright, but certain characters made the game a pain in the ass to play. Almost anybody using Luffy can destroy everybody else with his super. If that was different, it would have been better, but I prefer the Naruto games.

I'd also like to throw my hat in for the two Bleach games by Treasure that came out on the DS, but also made it to the states. I couldn't wait for them to be translated, so I imported both of them and they were well worth it.

i actually beat it without knowing japanese unlocked all the characters and all that. Im 12 but it was kinda difficult but it was still a really fun game

I've owned Ultimate starts for awhile now (Hell its what helped my discover alot of cool anime/manga I haven't heard of.) And I have to admit I had to watch youtube videos to learn the controls and panels and such, but after I got that down and memorized the menu I had a kickass time with the game.

Sorry for all the pestering comments--but hey, you reviewed it, so there's no cause to leave them anymore. xD I'm glad you gave this highly underrated game the respect it really deserves. Great video.

Just to let people know, you CAN play Jump Ultimate Stars in english. You just need certain.... less then legal items. Most of the menus are translated in addition to most of the dialog and story.

I'll post this portion and let you figure it out from there if anyone is interested.
