The original american gamecube version is still my favorite, if they could update that with what they have in City Folk I swear that's the only game I would play

It sounds like that game can suck up a lot of time. It also sounds dangerously addictive since you have to play every couple days. As long as it's fun I guess.

There was a few things that kind of disappointed me though, like how you only have 3 rooms, upstairs, living room, basement. 1 of which you can't add furniture to or anything, and the basement you can't add wallpaper to and/or rugs... I wouldn't mind paying off more debt to have some nice side rooms or something. Also it's much harder to create patterns in the Able sister's place, because of the point and click. You should have the option to be able to use the gamecube controller too. You should also be able to choose what you look like, and choose what your hairstyle should be.

You can change your hairstyle and color by going into the city and going to the hair salon. And you can get three rooms for decorating in your house, but I agree, it's not nearly enough! I've filled all four houses in the town and still have design ideas I wish I could try.

Hey! This review was great, and nice teamwork with your wife. Animal Crossing has always been a great video game series and I really hope Nintendo comes out with another one, but with lots of new stuff.
Friend Code: 3738-3028-5520
Name: Elizabe
Town Name: BethtownEven though I've had my game for a while, I haven't really gotten the time to play so my town is still a little noobish (well, kind of, but not really).

08.21.2009 - 21:09 | Halfax - What about the video games?
What I want to know is. I have the NGC version. I have got all the old NES games on it. Can you get games on the Wii version?

I've never gotten into Animal Crossing, but my family did host an intervention to get me away from Sims 2, so I know how addictive micro-managing the lives of stupid little digital people can be.
(BTW, the intervention failed and I bought two more expansions. I need you more than I need my family, EA.)
It's nice to see a guy playing a game with his wife. My last girlfriend was a gamer, too. But she played Call of Duty all the time. And by played, I mean "lived."
Let's just say, my Sims 2 people have better relationships than that one, and sometimes they pee on the floor.
Keep up the good work, Sod-Wario Guy!

I have been a fan of AC since the Gamecube game. Then I played Wild World on the DS and now, as you may have guessed, I play City Folk on the Wii. I agree that it doesn't quite spice up the series and the city is a little underwhelming. The grass wear feature is also a pain.
It is a fun and relaxing game to play, however, when your tired of Halo 3 or whatever.

Oh, gosh, you two are adorable and this is a great review. You probably ought to have mentioned Wii Speak, but I am assuming you didn't just because you guys don't have it.
Like others said, you need to toss up your town before anyone can visit. Here's my info if you're interested:
Name: Tracey
Code: 030261448357
Town: WaveI like the game because it's the kind of thing you can just play and not think too much about it, which you can't with most of the games today.

This one of those "game series" that I have never understood. Just like The Sims and Nindogs its basically just program toy instead of proper game.

That's awesome being able to review games with your wife! I loved "Justin make her fix it!" and the ending made me laugh out loud for real.
Great stuff.

Is it just me, or does Jew Wario look a bit like Tim Robbins?
Anyway, I like this new show . . . for now.

I always thought Sable was the best NPC... they should eventually mix in something similar to the dating sim mechanic from harvest moon where you can get any of the NPC or villagers...

erm... we're gonna need a town name if we're gonna play AC over WFC. Also, do you have the Wii Speak?

I've only ever played Animal Crossing on the Gamecube, and it was neat to see that both games are really similar.
Not too happy to see Rover, he always annoyed me. It's awesome that you can now change your hair. Sure, you don't get to choose what hair style, but it's better than before where you had to keep restarting the game until you got a character you liked.
I really enjoyed this review, thank you.
