maybe, probably not tho, since its such an obscure title. Least I think it is, I've never heard of it since I was born at the end of the NES era.

it is one of the greatest game of the MASTER SYSTEM/GAME GEAR...
surprised you didn't mention the similarities with Metroid in the level design though ?
the music are memorable as well...
seriously, it would have been marketed correctly...people would have seen Zelda 2 doesn't quite compare with Dragon's Trap...which is an overhall perfect game for its generation...

I saw the tribute at the end of the video, and looked Joseph up. That's really sad, my condolences to his close ones. :( At least he seemed happy with what he was doing.

Are you being sarcastic? Most of the Wonder Boy games already are on Virtual Console! Even remakes like Adventure Island, Dynastic Hero & Dragon's Curse are on there.

Wow. I've actually been looking for that game for years! Only problem was I didn't have the name of it anymore cause I used to play it at a friends house when we were about 6 years old, but then his house burned down and the sega he had with it. Thank you SO much! :D

To be honest, most of it was cosmetic/sprite swapping and one animal change, Lion Man became Tiger Man.
Oh, one thing I forgot to say was the Japanese version of Dragon's Curse was actually called Adventure Island (though nothing to do with the actual Adventure Island series).

No problemmo dude, Always glad to bring back childhood memories.
It's pretty cheap on eBay too if you ever fancy getting a proper copy.
I can still remember the day I did, even though I was half out of it from a local anaesthetic from a dental visit. :D

Yeah he was a great guy, really talented...
Since putting up this tribute, I found out he had a second account on Youtube talking about his illness, and found this video which was made the day before the operation he never awoke from...

First game of the series was just an average platformer without rpg-elements (sucessfully ripped off by adventure island) but the second - Wonderboy in Monsterland - was always one of my favorites! never really got around to this one but it looks awesome... i need a master system...
Oh, and don't you think comparing Mario and Alex Kidd is a bit of a stretch?

You convince me to get this game out of the draws and start playing it.
I've never beaten the game tho. i think its because i could never be stuffed writing down passwords. cause i was young and couldn't read my own handwriting. plus the game was to long for me to beat it in one play trough back then, kept on dying :pinch: .

But since i live in brazil, i played the monica one, i still own the cartrigde its an awesome game at its core, just the sprites that feel very odd placed
the frist game in the series suffered the same fate in brazil, bein a monica game, even thought i remenber seem cartrigde of wonder boy

You mixed it up. Wonder Boy in Monster World is not the prequel, it is Wonder Boy in Monster LAND.
