I never played the original, but I did play and do love the enhanced remake Sword of Mana (for thoes who don't know, "Final Fantasy Adventure" was originally called Seiken Densetsu. It was actually the very first game in the Mana series). This is really an awesome remix of various pieces of music from that game, which I thought were already pretty good as far as GBA music goes. Thanks for sharing this!

It kinda sounds like a mash-up of the X Files theme, Tetris type A, The Zelda Overworld theme, and something Street Fighter-esque.

Ah, those were the days, weren't they? I think I might have played part of at least one of these, but it's been so long now that I can't remember which one or ones and when. It almost makes me wish I hadn't sold or given away my older systems.

If you're a fan of rpgs and remixes I can't think of anything better to point you towards than the S.S.H.'s remix of decisive battle from ff6. one of the best remixes I've ever heard. And yea it doesn't hurt that original is badass as well.

It might be better if you could try to get gameplay footage integrated in instead of, or in addition to, the screenshots. make things a little better of a watching experience

I've only played FF1-FF9 so I've never played Final Fantasy Adventure or heard the original tune for that matter. I think you should put it somewhere in the video so that we can compare and see what has been done differently etc.
btw, what was your nickname once again? Andy the car the tv the movie? wtf
drugs are bad m'kay

I think in Europe it was named Mystic Quest. I have the German version of it here...it is such a great game.

That was a pretty cool remix, all right. Keep em coming, Game Heroes.
Because I am SuperGeek, I have to share some info about this game. In Japan, it was not called "FF Adventure"; it was called "Sword of Mana." That's right, besides the American name, it's not really a Final Fantasy game at all. It was named Final Fantasy in America because that name was more recognizable.
For those who'd like to play this game, it's probably not as rare as you think. It was remade for the Game Boy Advance under the name "Sword of Mana." It has updated graphics and sound, of course, but the story and music are the same.

im told FF A actually came out before zelda in japan... or is that legend?
-
11.04.2009 - 14:07 | animageous - Oh, it was remade?
In that case, I have already played the remake, Sword of Mana. It WAS an excellent game, though I always found leveling up the individual weapons just a bit annoying

no offensive to anyone but i played final fantasy adventure till the end a i really didn't like it. One of the biggest problems being when you have to roam the world and the NPC are very unhelpful saying it is north eastern when the mapl loops around so you never know exactually were you are in the world. Also (ironicy) i found the music pretty bad mainly the dungeion theme which just moans at you

Since you're Wikiing, have you noticed that Final Fantasy Adventure is not actually a Final Fantasy game at ALL? Blasphemy, I know. Notice the absence of Nobuo Uematsu's name to this title.
The composer, Kenji Itou did the music for the first and fourth installments of the Seiken Densetsu franchise. (Better known as Final Fantasy Adventure [GB] and Dawn of Mana [PS2])
Hiroki Kikuta did the music for its' more famous cousin, Seiken Densetsu 2, known in the US as Secret of Mana for the SNES, while #3 remains overseas on the Super Famicon.
As far as I know, Seiken Densetsu (FFA) was the first appearance of Chocobo, and Seiken Densetsu 2 was my first exposure to Moogles. Sword of Mana for the GBA is supposedly a remake of the original game, but it's a far cry from the old canon. (Get it? Canon? It has... Canon trave---...

That was a great blast to the past. I played that game alot on my old gameboy. Kept my original gameboy despite there being color gameboys untill the thing died... about the time Gameboy Sp was out and I got one of them.
That remix really does the game justice.

No.. thats a completely different game.
Final Fantasy Adventure is named Final Fantasy Adventure in Europe. I have a copy of it myself.Final Fantasy Mystic Quest is a Final Fantasy spin off, while Final Fantasy Adventure is the first Mana Game. Got a remake named Sword of Mana.

Quite a nice remix. I agree it's rather catchy, and for a remix of, well, a GAMEBOY song (super-duper-old-school) it's pretty complex.
I'm actually surprised I've never heard of this game before, since when I was a kid in America my old Gameboy was the only entertainment I had, and I bought a truckload of GB games..... ah well, thanks for bringing this remix to my attention!
