I'm getting back to this site as soon as that ad goes out of rotation.
Nice video Benzai, btw.

11.24.2009 - 03:42 | CrimsonDuskSo gaming has always been a business or better said if people didn't make money out of it they wouldn't have cared.
Still thanks Benzaie for this little piece of history hope to see more episodes, especially because they help me refresh my French because it's an interesting subject.

Actually, CrimsonDusk, people would still have cared, if only because such programs pushed the limitations of computers and showed what works and what doesn't in regards to them--which is useful to know, since computers only had industrial uses. Utilizing them in a recreational way, i.e. videogames, chess, and the like, while on the surface seemed to be just playing around, was really testing what could be done on computers and with screens.
In short, videogames helped the science of computers develop in a way nothing else could--which, while fun for the average recreational computer user, is even more helpful for those who use computers industrially.
That being said, this show is pretty entertaining. Keep up the good translating work, Benzaie! :cheer:

WHO BROKE THE COPIER COPIER COPIER!
Dude we get it.
Chili's and Metro PCS are awesome. Let's give them all our money.
Fucking stop with these must watch ads before every video.
I'd rather pay you guys, the creator's of the content I want rather than forcing me to watch the SAME ADS BEFORE EVERY VIDEO ON THE SITE EVERYTIME I WANT TO WATCH IT.

Err you could click 'em and then close the upcoming window? The commercial will stop then, you know...The money the creators get from blip comes from the companies advertising and make it possible that the viewer (you and me) doesn't have to pay for great entertaiment (you know, like private TV stations)...it's called economics, deal with it.
Anyway Thanks Benzaie for sharing this. We loe you.

11.24.2009 - 07:16 | baba44713I have nothing against ads. The Tequila one is a good one and has nice music to boot.
But "who broke the copier copier copier" has to be the most inane, irritating and idiotic thing ever filmed in the history of marketing. I am so annoyed by that ad I think that if I saw those people in real life I would probably knock them down and scream "Who broke your face face face, huh? ME!"

Très bon clip, Benzaie! Merci de l'avoir partagé!
~It feels funny on retrospect, to be a fan of an industry such as this, coming out of nowhere, almost no one to imagine it beforehand. I guess you'd need some Jules Vernes type to imagine something like that, won't you agree?
The first game I recall playing was Atari 2600's Asteroids. Kinda classic on its own too.
-
11.24.2009 - 08:14 | KINGQuimeraThe first game a see wass donkey Kong vs mario for the atari, and my first game a tink was mario 3 for ness. I that game i suck i can get to bowser. But i play mario 1 en 2 (the original). Some day i going to pass that game.
-
11.24.2009 - 08:14 | ThuleAbout the commercials at the beginning. Just click on it, close the new window and play the video.
-
11.24.2009 - 09:30 | RocnaelYou know, Benzaie, you should have translated the particular role of each journalist being mentioned in the upper part of the video.
I'm french so I know who the hell are those guys for the most part. But still, just a tidbit of information about them would have worked.
Because, as of this video, I'm pretty much guessing some (read: most) people are clueless about AHL or Marcus, for example, where they are well known journalists in France.

This guy can't do documentaries correctly...he went WAY to fast in his narrative, made it too flashy and cinematic when showing the games and the interview, and I feel like he is missing a LOT of information that is necessary to do a proper history of video games.
Sorry Benzaie, thanks for showing this, but it's a weak documentary overall.

Also, the guy that created the first tennis game on an oscilloscope had previously worked as the head of the electronics departement on the Manhattan project !
Et Ben, coupe ton MSN quand tu captures du son !^^

Nice Benzai... Man! nowadays I feel old for having played the NES and stuff, but I never even had contact with arcade machines or Atari consoles, there's a lot of stuff I missed out by either being born too later or being born in central/eastern Europe.
Fun to listen to how it was in the simple days when one guy developed a whole game and it was a world wide success!
