Spoilers
(all happened in gow2)
story is that after fighting zuse(his father that abandoned him) kratos stages an attack on mount olympus by bringing the titans from the past to the present, and the current theory as to why the titan attacked him is that some of the titans are barely animals and have very little direction.The whole story is very convoluted and itd be easyer to wiki it and if you dont have the games or havent played them all the way through do so since you sounded like you enjoyed the demo.

Kratos is supposed to be at war with the Gods of Mount Olympus and allied with the Titans of earth, so why he's attacking both I have no idea.
You semi fight the Titans in the second game, but it's a scripted futile fight because they are just so powerful.
I can say the Lava Titan gained some buffage from the Disney Hercules movie. :P

@Sieg-sama
Since when has the director of Bayonetta ever had a good story in his games?
Anyway, Kratos is one of the most original heroes in gaming. His only goal in life is to erase the memory of him slaughtering his own family, he is no Hollywood anti here but a real anti hero with no redemption available other than stop existing. Not to die, but to entirely stop existing, which means the God's and their world must be destroyed.

Regardless, I really have to wonder why God of War is a series at all. At the end of the first one, he becomes the God of War and he gets his revenge on Ares. That's it. Story over. Oh, okay, he suddenly wants to get revenge on the _other_ gods too! ...okay! Sure! I never played God of War 2 so I don't know how it ends, but I have simply no idea what kind of set up there could be for this game. I wish they would take the same gameplay system and make a whole new story and characters to follow. Easier said than done, I know, but it wouldn't get stale the way GoW (or even Ratchet and Clank) have. (Of course, R&C has apparently had a great reboot with Crack in Time, but that's in the eye of the beholder.)
Anyway, pretty good video. Thanks for sharing the demo with the rest of the world, Benny. Though I have to be honest, how important is 60 fps? I mean, how much is really needed?
Seriously? Even THIS series has Prince of Persia platforming? Jesus!
....okay, ripping out the eye is pretty fuckin sweet. Reminds me of Kill Bill.

hur hur hur, Kratos has a quincy bow...I never thought a brutal psycho like him would use a weapon as subtle as a bow and arrow. M-maybe they should give some kind of incentive for not killing the civilians...
Is it really okay to just kill off major mythological figures for an item? I mean, you ripped off the head of the SUN GOD, wouldn't that plunge the world into eternal night or something? Or is Helios not really dead, does that mean the severed head will yell at you from your pocket or something? "Yuck, Kratos, when was the last time you washed these pants?!"
I kinda wish the platforming was a little better, but the combat seems to more than make up for it.

I played and beat the first 2 games. I really don't like this series at all. I thought they would be improved by now, but looks like they only added a little to the tired series. Compared to any action game out there (Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, No More Heroes, etc), this is probably the weakest one. I don't see why people obsess over this. It's really not that great. By saying you can button mash proves they didn't improve it.

....okay, ripping out the eye is pretty fuckin sweet. Reminds me of Kill Bill.I'll explain the story a bit more for you. At the end of the first Kratos is not content with his gift from the gods he's angry at them for shunning his request to take away his memories of that time he killed his family, especially after going through hell and back literally! So he shuns the gods and destroys their cities on earth, they then proceed to take his powers cause they already have figured out hes pissed and hes probably just going to end up destroying them with his godly powers. So of course that's the reason they take the powers away, to minimize the chance of you killing them. Therefore the story flows perfectly. The game does count that you infer a little but what game doesn't? Good stories always leave a little bit of room for inference.
And thanks Benzaie I've been waiting to see some game play other than what they showed at e3. You seem quite talented and i feel ashamed to have underestimated you. I'll be watching your videos from now on ^-^. Sure this probably isn't your typical review style but i get a feel of how you do it and it's entertaining.
