*see credits* The Motion Picture Corporation of America? The people behind Pumpkinhead II and Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge? Oh dear.

Ah, yes. The company that makes fans of the original Pumpkinhead cry every time their name is mentioned. I remember them well.

I love your reaction Brad when the "Son of Sleepaway Camp" title popped up. A combination of being shocked and offended.

At first I thought maybe the wrong video was uploaded since that happens on this site sometimes, but nice reveal. Obviously this was done to cash in on the Sleepaway Camp franchise, but God knows why, maybe because it came out around the same time as those so-called comedy-horror sequels (using the term very loosely).

This movie isn't even entertaining dumb, it's just dumb. Nice to know that misanthropic environmentalist yuppies even got to horror films.

I knew that music they used on the title sequence sounded familiar. It is the same sound track from the first movie, cause that's the same music they used during the revelation that scary face lady was a dude! I've only heard it in my nightmares about a dozen times since that review. XD

One of your best openings; had me laughing aloud. I was honestly confused for a moment with your posted title, and then your introduction on "Memorial Valley Massacre". I was right with you at the "what the fu-" line when the title was revealed in the movie clip. You led me along perfectly. ^.^

I just feel sorry for all the "Sleepaway Camp" fans trying to rack thier brains around how it fits into the continuity of the previous movies, even Sleepaway Camp 4 had Angela in it and tried to fit in with the other three movies.

lol, love the introduction, the movie basically rick-rolled The Cinema Snob XD

Wow, for a movie that's pretending to be a sequel to Sleepaway Camp, it instead seems more like a cross between Friday the 13th and Eegah! with a little Killdozer for good measure.
  • Guy Shafor  - Sorry t'call yeh out on this...

But that's obviously Jack Palance on steroids doing a Burt Reynolds NOT Tom Skerrit. Easy mistake, but still...

PS. Yer hair is nigh-perfect in this one.

    20:00-- Must...resist...Richard Pryor joke!

I have a $150 camcorder and Microsoft MovieMaker, and my production values are probably better than this movie. Ugh.
  • Arsmith
    "Dendrologist."

You probably don't want to know how I know that word. Let's just say that if an embarassing case of dutch elm disease was involved, it would be a better story.

Well, that looks aweful. I'm already not a fan of the Cinema Snob's usual review fodder (though I am of the reviews), but this was pointless and stupid even by those standards.

By the way, can the Americans in the audience explain to the Europian here if any park ranger ever would go up to a bunch of campers and hand out rifles like candy canes to go hunt a maneating animal? The way those people were handling their rifles as they set out to look for the bear, it's a miracle they didn't shoot each other.
  • Arsmith
In 1989? Good heavenly Christ, no. Well, maybe, in the sense that if there's something crazy and/or stupid you can probably find someone somewhere willing to do it. Probably would have made the news.

Considering all the other idoicy in that movie, somebody giving a bunch of rifles to a bunch of untrained tenderfeet he doesn't know and going off to hunt a bear isn't that big of a plot hole.

That scene with the killer and the girl...I wasn't sure if she was turned on or terrified or even both. I could have sworn she said, "Yeah, like that" at one point. O-O? What girl reacts like that? And yes, that is how Breaking Dawn part 1 should have ended. Then I wouldn't be disappointed by the fact that James Bond was beaten by a dumb teenager in the box office. This whole movie was weird. The cartoony music and sound effects. And it obviously had nothing to do with Sleepaway Camp. And there wasn't even much killing. You were right on the nose with this review. I laughed a lot and enjoyed it.

I registered to post this. God damn, I didn't know this series went past part 3 and this piece of shit, but you dug up part 4 and Son of. Kudos, courage, etc.

I remember my step-sister secretly showing me part 2, she loved part 1 and was ignorant one of my earliest memories was of watching Friday the 13th pt 2 with my actual sister, so she thought this was transgressive against her mother/my step mom who was a religious psycho-bitch. And said step sister felt just as robbed as I did watching 2. We both hated it.

Anyway, this piece of shit... oy. I was just as angry and loserly as Alan around that age, and if I watched a movie with then-me as the protagonist I'd be screaming for me to die too. They should have not made him such a dick to start with, but they could have at least given the girl who kept defending him a purpose by having her try to make him a better guy or the real killer instead of wasting Angela. Hell, Alan could've turned out to be a girl.

Neither of these titles make any sense! What does a killer caveman kid have to do with either Memorial Day or Sleepaway Camp? Unless the "Memorial" was for the massacre in this movie, but that can't be, because Memorial Day is referenced in the movie itself. Bloody hell this movie is messed up.

The Cinema Snob's next review should be "Night of the Demon" 1980 about killer sasquatch.
