    Thanks for this Thanksgiving treat.

    A turkey from Turkey. :-)

Don't care if it's technically awful, I still enjoy the shit out of the live action Casper film.

    ..."Can I keep you?"
I don't care if you liked that movie, that was still the creepiest line (in context) of any movie ever made ever.
  • Profc  - There is a Turkish Casper Movie?
Brad I have to congratulate you, as a Casper fan from Turkey, even I had no idea that there was a Turkish casper movie. Damn. Where do you even find all these movies?
  • Syshowlingwolf
You know, I wanted to know the answer to that question as well, but the more I thought about it the more I did not want to know.

wow, the song from Deadly Bees in another crappy movie from the 60s... What was with him seeing a picture of tits and saying "I found it!"?

Casper in this movie looks as creepy as hell. He looks like the anti-spiral from Gurren Lagann if he was in white-face. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Ironic, I just rewatched your Caligula earlier today. Nice Eraserhead reference by the way. Happy Thanksgiving, Brad.

    Tart?

You'll find that's TRT, which most likely stands for the Turkish words for Turkish Radio Televion.
  • WolfyD  - anything?
I looked everywhere but couldn't find one shred of a plot on any site BUT...
6.1 on IMDB (from 14 people :P) and 8.4 on movie reviews

I think people really like this thing

Alright, I did some digging, and I actually managed to find the Turkish Wikipedia article for this film (http://tr.wikipedia.org/ wiki/Cicican). I tried Google Translating the article, and it cleared up a few things, I'm still totally lost. Anyway, this is what I've got...

Some guy named Cici Can is in love with a girl. He's also pure Of heart or something like that. He's killed by Azrael (the angel of death) who shows him a photo of his lover. (This next bit makes no sense to me.) "The other copy of the world's mind was gone. Then sadly she loves has been deleted." (Your guess is as good as mine. I'm assuming someone has amnesia.) He requests to return to earth. He is accompanied by "virgin girls under the supervision of Huriye'nin". (I've got nothing.) Shenanigans ensue.

I think it was based off of a Turkish comic book/strip, but little to no info exists in that regard. Just two pictures which may or may not relate.

There is somethig hilarious about him just wanting to see Casper... I almost expected him to scream the name like a certain someone...

More David Lynch references than you can shake a stick at.

I wonder if Turkey has a law against quality in films? It would explain half of the stuff on the exploitation market, from them. Another great episode, Brad. Really love watching your stuff, and it's consistently great.

I already watched this on your site while I was browsing it. Personally I didn't find the animated ghost part that scary. I found it more silly than anything. Again, another movie that puts the name "Turkish ______" in the title to try and get Western audiences more interested in it. Between this, Turkish Rambo, and Turkish Star Wars, this probably has the least in common with the American production it's named after.

Also, any members of the site that know Turkish willing to translate the movie?
  • AnnointedBitter
I live for the day you (maybe?) review Turkish Wizard of Oz. What does that say about me? :D Also, I call it Turkey Day because Thanksgiving is a religious thing, and I just use it as a day to eat Turkey. *shrugs* I'm an odd lady.

Please Freud, help us! We desperately need to see Caspar fuck his mother!!

I almost died when you said that.

The animated parts with the ghost looked really cool; any movie that totally owns its cheesy effects is ok in my book. The ghost in the mirror scene was pretty creepy, though.
  • SpotTheShingo  - Turkish "Casper"?
More like "Turkish Heaven Can Wait" meets "The Turkish Gary Coleman Show".

Also, Turkish Heaven resembles Sid and Marty Krofft's The Bugaloos as done by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Starring Frank Zappa (wearing Mike Jittlov's "Wizard" garb!) as Death.

Alright, I'm gonna give into the possibility of making myself look ridiculous/delusional and ask:

Heyyyy, what's wrong with the 1995 movie? I liked it, and one part of it really got to me o_o

But overall, the review was hilarious ^__^

I'll admit, I was also terrified when I first saw the ghost, but because of how cartoony it looked, I couldn't help but gradually think it was cute. I think that's mainly the reason I loved Casper growing up (yes, even the movies. Though looking back, I'm sure the sequel was bad). He's just so cute and loving. I wanted to be his friend. :') Still, this movie is a little weird since the guy rarely turns into a ghost, even when he purposely caused trouble. If you have ghost powers, why not use them? Also, it was pretty sexist how he groped and slapped a random woman and only fell in love with a girl because of her tits. Still, this was a funny review as usual. I just wish I wasn't so tired. zzz...

So, was this movie suppose to be for kids or what?

Cause I appauld all the little kids in Turkey back in the sixites who didn't wet themselves in terror from seeing that close-up of Death's skeletal face.
