Great parody of Angus Jones' recent denouncement of his tv show and becoming an active Christian. I was hoping it about a movie named Filth.

Have the kid give his paychecks back. I don't even watch 2 and a half men anymore. Show sucked for a while even before Sheen left.

11.29.2012 - 20:09 | Santa PrimeYeah I kinda wonder if he is gonna keep accepting the money even though he hates the show. But I expect to see ans E Hollywood interview 5 years from now where Angus Jones talks about how he was brainwashed by faith and was just a crazy mixed up kid.

Speaking as a Christian there was nothing Godly about what Angus Jones did. There is nothing Godly about that kind of self righteousness and disloyalty. There is nothing Godly about stabbing people who have been good to you in the back. If he had problems with the subject matter he should ask to be let out of his contract or as Brad said give the money back. I did a full rant on him on my blog if anyones interested, but again speaking as a Christian here his behavior was shameful.

Great parody Brad.

I read the whole thing & you made a lot of good points. Personally I'm mixed on this whole event. On one hand I think it's admirable to stand your moral ground when you feel you're being affiliated with something that goes against your ethical standards. I get that. But on the other hand the way he did it (telling people to not watch it, etc.) came off as insulting to T&AHM's audience. Plus the whole "give back a lot of the money" arguments everyone's making is valid to an extent. I say "to an extent" because money isn't always the #1 priority in life, and I don't like the mentality that he should just be a shameless famewhore willing to do anything for a buck. Overall, wanting to leave for moral reasons is very reasonable, but it could've been done in a much more civil way, such as simply, as you said, simply getting out of his contract at the end of the season.

If he honestly feels the show is so objectionable I can respect that even if I disagree. But remember with the exception of Ashton, pretty much everybody on that show has known this boy most of his life. From behind the scenes stuff I have seen John Cryer is like a surrogate uncle to him. He could have just waited his contract out or even voiced his concerns in a more respectful way. Instead he called people who have been good to him for half of his life the devil. God is in no way honored by that sort of behavior.
The great irony is of course if anything his little stunt will only boost the shows ratings.

I saw an ABC news report that was on Angus Jones and his criticism of the show. Just watching some of those clips made me have to go and watch George Carlin's bit on stupid people in which he states that there are some people who are stupid, some who are full of shit, some who are fuckin' nuts, and some who are all three. Angus probably fits into more than one of those categories. I also rolled my eyes when it was reported that he recorded that video with an online religious group, because online ones are probably even more full of shit than real life ones. This is probably just my antireligiousness shining through.
Whatever. It's his life. If he wants to do that, he has the right. I just hope he doesn't become another Kirk Cameron or else he will need to be punched in the head. In fact, Kirk Cameron needs to be punched in the head.

What gets me is all the stuff Angus T Jones was complaining about was mostly when Charlie Sheen was still starring in it. But now that he is gone its less...sleezy and even less...funny I dare say it.
As a sane Christian myself, I get where some (not all but some) of it is coming from, but then he turns around and renews his contract thereby continuing to star in a show he is morally against?
Yeah, its hard to say what is going on at this point.

My impression is that Angus has one problem for certain and another as a possibility:
1) He's nineteen and therefore has a nineteen year old's understanding of theological matters, business realities, and the position he's in. He's not a young teenager, but in terms of overall understanding the whole world and how it works, he's basically still just a kid who doesn't yet have the experience to realize ahead of time the kind of mess one can make when going out in public and using terms like "the devil's work".
In other words, whether it's the devil's work or not, it seems he lacks the wisdom to realize whether it's a good idea to say so in public. So: not stupid, just young.
2) He's almost certainly being influenced by someone who throws around terms like "the devil's work" all the time. Obviously I don't know him personally, but these ideas don't happen in a vacuum, and the Bible never explicitly calls out Two and a Half Men as the work of the devil, so I'm thinking someone Angus respects happens to have some radical ideas about television... As well as nothing to lose by telling the poor kid he's involved in the devil's work.
Just my theory.

I don't get the joke, probably because whatever topic they are referencing has gone over my head. Can someone explain? Pictures and Links would be appreciated.

I liked Brad's video, even before I knew WTF was going on with Angus T. Jones or Two and a Half Men (which I used to enjoy, but stopped LONG BEFORE Angus called it filth). The more I get to know about what Angus has done, the more I feel like the guy is a complete idiot.
What basically happened with Angus is that he read and heard a bunch of "stuff" (which so happened to be a bunch of religious beliefs, values and so on) and so happened to feel great about it/those at that/those time(s) (just like a person can feel great (pretty-much randomly) about reading, listening or watching anything). For some odd reason, he decided, because he FELT great comfort during that/those time(s), that IT MUST MEAN "God was hugging you!" and "God was giving you love!" and whatever. :-P
Do you want to know something though?...
As I still do nowadays, I watch whatever the fuck I want, whenever the fuck I want. I enjoyed Two and a Half Men when it started-out. I even liked it for a while, including the CSI crossover and some other stupid, yet fun-to-watch, stuff. The ONLY reason why I stopped watching that show was because I just so happen to lose interest as Jake became a teenager; I found the show to be too bland and directionless by that point. So, unless Angus doesn't mind me putting my nose in his business and trying to force him to stop "milking" his VERY LUCKY life situation, he should MIND HIS OWN FUCKING BUSINESS! >:-|

I've heard some TGWTG reviewers who were part of the one year anniversaries didn't actually like the one year anniversaries. If this is true, should those reviewers give back any money they received for doing them? The only difference you could argue is that the kid came out and publicly denounced the show. Whereas I don't think I've heard any TGWTG producers fully disown the one year anniversaries in public. I've just heard a few hushed murmurs here and there.
Some people are saying it's not very Christian. Maybe a Christian actor could justify being on the show and getting paid if his character wasn't as un-Christian as other characters. Maybe he could justify that he's taking the role and money that might otherwise corrupt another child actor.
I'm not saying that's what he's doing. Another commenter pointed out that the kid is still young. He's still transitioning from wanting to be an actor and making money, to wanting to be a Christian. If he were an older Christian actor then I would ask why he doesn't just leave. Since he's a younger person, I can understand if he hasn't fully rationalized his situation. Using the comparison with Brad's friend doesn't quite work. Isn't everyone at Cinemasnob.com around their 30s?
Is the kid really a hypocrite? It's not like he doesn't want to act for or with other people on the show. His main disagreement is with the content. Robert Pattinson has been doing this kind of thing for a while now, only minus the Christian moral authority. A lot of people including TGWTG reviewers have said they respect Pattinson for it.
If the kid did do something wrong in all this, it's that he potentially limited his employment. A lot of people might not take the risk in hiring him for acting jobs now. Not if they think he'll publicly criticize them later.
