07.07.2011 - 10:19 | tiomelaI also tried it. I remember the melon flavour tasting like Brad described. I remember drinking Orbitz on the ferry on a field trip. That was fun. haha.
Stop with the Canada hating. :(

The US will stop with the Canada hating as soon as you guys get rid of Celine Dion for us. It's your mess; you clean it up! (JK)
By the way, I've had sugar cane (oh state fairs, where would the morbidly obese be without you?) and it tasted like...well, like sugar attached to strings. You split the cane open to eat it properly. Something tells me Goya just fucked up somewheres.

07.07.2011 - 00:58 | WilwarinWe still have a bottle of Orbitz in our basement. o_O
I didn't like it. It was a texture thing with me... I didn't like drinking chunks of gelatin.
As for the other drinks, I like butterscotch, but I do not like coconut. Not sure about the sugar cane drink, since I don't like tomato soup either. And I am so glad I have never heard of that wheat pro-biotic flour water...

I was fortunate(?) to try Orbitz back when it was readily available. I remember the taste wasn't that bad, but like the person above me said the texture from the floating lava-lamp bits inside kinda ruined it. I like certain "chew-able beverages," like milk shakes and Fruitista Freezes, but Orbitz just wasn't my thing. Not to mention it was like twice the price of ordinary soda. No thanks. I stuck more to Josta back then until Pepsi stopped making it. It was a sad time for me when that happened.
I'd probably like the butterscotch root beer and coconut soda, though. No comment on the others. lol

You must understand How stoked I am that ya'll finnally tried Orbitz!
OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! You finally did it! I'd been asking ya'll to try Orbitz since I started watching your shows.
I wish ya'll had got the large lot of it like on ebay of different flavors to try maybe some aged better than others.
The butterscotch root beer sounds awesome I love butterscotch!
What was that last thing? was that really sour milk mixed with other crap or is it that fermented tea stuff like off Andrew Zemmer?
Gotta love the cat anus that was a highlight of the episode!
Did you go down a water slide in a jacket/shirt? With sunglasses on? WTF?
"Hey, you bring me something to drink in the skull of an enemy!"
oh damn I forgot something!
Man, ya'll really loved talking about balls a lot in this video!
I live in Texas and Goya is a popular Mexican market brand name for drinks. I've seen several different drinks under that label. never the sugarcane drink but they do got a coconut milk drink if ya'll wanna try that. I tried it before and it just tasted of water with coconut shavings in it.
That reminds me of something else I'd like to see you dig up a can or bottle and try... Lime/Coconut Coke! Remember it?

Ah, Orbitz. I used to love those but the store only stocked one flavor, I think it was citrus flavor. (It had yellow orbs in it.)
The little gelatin balls never did have much flavor to them. To me, they were just kind of in the way of the tasty beverage, but the drinks looked so unusual and cool with the orbs floating in it I kept buying them until the store stopped stocking them.
I never had a melon one, but I'm guessing the horrible part of the taste is from the fact that it's 14 years old.
Speaking of old, a couple got hidden in back of a cabinet until long past their expiration date so I decided to hold on to them as knick knacks since, as you said, it reminds you of a lava lamp. I'm fairly sure I still have them.

From wikipedia:
"The small balls floated due to their nearly equal density to the surrounding liquid, and remained suspended with assistance from an ingredient known as gellan gum. The gellan gum provided a support matrix—something like a microscopic spider web--and had a visual clarity approaching that of water, which increased with the addition of sugar."
Still... that looks freaky as all hell... And I want to try that soda :O

you seriously need to try a Zuberfizz from my hometown of Durango, Colorado...

Yey! You tasted Colombiana! Colombiana is a famous drink from Colombia, South America that is very common among parties or BBQ's. I was so envious when I saw you drinking it since I came to the United States 10 years ago from Colombia, I haven't had the chance to taste them often. Now I'm nostalgic... ;-;!
The Orbitz onces are visually appealing though, even though they seem to taste horrible XD. Sorry about that!
The Sugar Cane one-- well, I can understand why it tasted weird. There are different types of Sugar Cane juices and the ones you tasted is closes to the rawest flavor of the Sugar Cane that originated in Cuba. There are others like the Panela that is way more sugary in flavor and different variations. Goya is trying to say to Hispanics "here! we have something for you to drink from your homeland!" It's a very tempting offer!
As for the last drink, damn. Damn. I would've thrown up there. Hold your fort, gentlemen!
And now a cheesy commercial of Colombiana from 1984:

There's a local shop in town that sells that Goya Sugar Cane juice. I've gotta try it now.
