Did you know that the guy who wrote it use to be a humors movie reviewer on the internet. So if this movie does well, maybe Hollywood will give more internet reviewers movie deals (Please Hollywood give the Snob a chance to make a big movie)

I read the book "Beautiful Creatures" and was pleasantly surprised. It was written from the male characters perspective and had a lot of historical links that really intrigued me. It was a solid first book at least.
The movie looks dumbed down and very "Twilight-y" though. I'm not excited to see it.

The writer of this film is a writer for 'ain't it cool' and ex-reviewer for spill dot com, he actually left spill (which demanded quiet a bit of time) to focus on writing this movie and now doing the press circuit. I've been a memeber of Spill since 09 and actually miss him, he was kinda hipster-ish(he like'd to namedrop every now and then) but a very mellow guy who had a polarizing opinion at times. I'm hoping he'll come back to spill for a while before doing another film script.

I loved the deputy too and the fact that he wasn't the cliched over-the-top idiot. He was a very welcomed breath of levity to an otherwise very dark movie. The only thing that I didn't really buy was the fact that there was no way any of the kids could have dragged the unconscious family members under the tree, into the lawn chairs, in the car or in the same room. The jump scares were a bit annoying, too.
