Depends really. Dark Knight was very...um...well...dark LOL. And it was also thought provoking so if you like those things then you'll enjoy Dark Knight. Not to mention a super-psychotic Joker.

I was almost disappointed when I realized you were going to review this as the Bum. I thought that a movie so awesome couldn't be reviewed by a crazy, yelling homeless man and instead should just be reviewed by yourself. But wow - even I didn't expect the Bum to be bummed.

This, in my opinion, was the best way you could have reviewed this movie as the Bum. Good job.

Yea I REALLY recommend watching this review only AFTER you've seen the Dark Knight. His reaction will make much more sense because that's exactly how I'm feeling after seeing it..........I mean Damn!

I was iffy on this vid, I mean I'm glad it went in a different direction with the usual excitement, but then thats what made it not so great, though that made it epic. It can go in many directions. I saw the Dark Knight today and there is only one word to describe it "DAMN"


seriously I never really ever liked Batman, but this movie....does it for me. Probably my favorite superhero movie to date, Iron Man leading.


If you haven't seen it, its dark and grand. See it.

Very little on your site has made me laugh as audibly and hysterically loud as that just did. (....I mean that in a good way.) Before I watched it I was thinking it was gonna be a similar crack fantasy rant like Hellboy, but one of the greatest compliments I believe a movie can receive is when it's described as exhausting, so when the bum is exhausted by a movie, that's amazing. And I've become so used to the intro and outro being the same clip for so long that I was kinda dreading the upbeat 'change' ending so I loved that it was different for this one.... But I hope it's just for this one.... Unless another movie that is that level of exhausting comes along.

Excellent review, I saw this movie a couple of hours ago and it was indeed dark yet profound.

The Joker was a complete madman (DIABOLICAL)!
There were so many times my heart was pounding so fast and I would gasp out loud.

I didn't know what to expect but this was beyond expectations. He did his best to be funny but in the end the movie was indeed just as we'd probably expect. Even better that there were no spoilers. I loved this movie. While I still think Mask of the Phantasm is a little better, I thought this ties with it as the best Batman movie. This movie IS Oscar worthy. It was so amazing and shocking and packed with everything and had a bunch of twists and was just awesome.

Saw this movie last night and.......WOW. Twisted, dark, violent I could go on and on. Ledger blows Nicholson's Joker away completely. He portrays him as the Joker should always have been, not childish and goofy but as the embodiment of chaos.

Hell, even D-BO has a dramatic scene in this movie!

This is the best movie I've ever seen in my life! I loved that it wasn't just, "Oh there's Joker, let's stop him." It was, "Damn, what the hell is the Joker going to blow up next?!?!" lol, I like a more serious plot over a cheesy "happy" plot anyday, this movie was kickass, and the Bum's reaction to it was perfect.

This is the first Bum review that I actually LIKED. Up until now they've been just ramblings to me, not to mention the past ones spoil the movie for me.

You honestly couldn't have done this ANY better man. The title itself "Dark Knight" is to help set the tone for how dark it is, but I do think you were wrong in thinking that this was going to be fun and light-hearted (that is, if you really meant that). Batman's world has been a very dark and heavy-set one from the get-go. Man, I am gonna miss Ledger.

Seriously, bravo.

The clown's a freakin psychopathic lunatic and no matter what batman does or doesn't do, people keep dying! It seems almost like everyone's gonna die by the end, but then the ordinary everyday people end-up saving each other in a way. The whole movie looks it's the end of the freakin world because of some freak and it keeps making you feel like no-one can ever change that!

I know the nostalgic critic sticks to reviewing old movies but it would be AWESOME if he'd review this one. :-D

I know others may feel differently, but this movie was easily the best movie I've seen this year... maybe even the best I've seen in a couple years. It's easily the greatest comic book movie (not to sell Ironman short... that's a great movie in its own right). Loved the vid.... he sums up the feelings I felt after watching this emotional roller coaster. Great vid!

This is also the first Bum review I've liked, but you have to admit, if all of the ones before this were equally morbid, then this review would not have the same significance. I watched the Dark Knight twice, it was insanely good both times, albeit I understood more of what was going on the second time.

It's the greatest movie I've ever seen in my life and I'd gladly watch it a third time. I think Batman's voice was badass, even though many people were imitating it on the way out of the theatre because he sounded like a smoker haha. The joker was mad awesome as well, with the endlessly changing scar stories, and it's a movie that actually has a good ending regardless of a cliffhanger. I thought the first entrance of Batman with him fighting the Joker was awesome too.

"You've got a little fight in you...I like that."

"Then you're gonna love me."

I was afraid that the bum will give all the spoilers he can so I didn’t
want to watch this video before I see the movie. And both things turned
out to be great.

watching Dark Knight made me feel like the Mutant Enemy at the end of Buffy season 2.
"i need a hug"

it's the best interpretation of Batman or any superhero ever. the bad taste left in our mouth from the Clooney atrocity (and Tommy Lee Jones' appalling Two-Face) has been completely wiped away.

btw, new Bond preview. anybody else feel that these two franchises are following the same path? origin story, much darker and grimmer world, loads of angst...

BEST bum review yet.

Well, even tho i dont share the same feelings as the bum after seeing the movies, this review made me look abit diffrent on the movie.. But hell, that feeling only lastet as i wached the review ^^ True that this movie was depressing, but hell.. One of my all time favorite villians aswell as one of my favorite "super heroes", it was hard to think about the morals of the movie, couse the storys ware sweet and intense.. Yeah i said story's'. no words can describe this film.
theres no way that heath isnt getting an oscar.

oh and for all those guys that didnt saw the
movie and saying :" hey bum.. WHY SO SURIOUS?"
after you will watch the dark knight... this sentence

Well i just watched the movie and one thing i would like to say - OVERRATED, I won't argue with those who say this is the best Batman movie ever made, but serious, guys, ratings and reviews are ridiculous, better than a godfather, shawshank redemption, no contry for old men and list goes on and on, wt*? Yes, it's a good movie, but don't be over-hyped it's still just a man in a bat suit.

honestly, i think the movie was ok, but i don't think it would've been as exciting if not for Heath Ledger. i saw the movie just recently, and the Joker was AMAZING. o.o

Man people have already told the "how I got these scars" and the "why so serious" jokes...I think the only part where you could laugh in the movie was when the joke walked out of the hospital...but then I'm 1/3 crazy and laught during some of the killing seens. Also does anyone think that if one of the two ships had pressed the button they would have actully blown them selves up? Or is the Joker true when he says they would blow the other ship up? It's hard to tell with crazy villain peoples.

I didn't think we'd ever see a batman film quite as dark as 1992's Batman Returns, but Nolan's gone and done it! It's not often a film lives up to its hype, but then I don't think people were expecting it to be quite as dark as it was. There's some controversy now because people took their 12 year old kids to see it and now they're having nightmares.

The Dark Knight was huge in all respects. Big hype, big special effects, big sets, big characters, big emotions, big length, yet it wasn't the most of anything. Films these days tend to have special effects out the ass and most of those done via computer graphics, so the more discreet use of CG and reliance on more classic effects was nice to see. Despite all the things listed above being 'big', flashy and well executed, none of it's too over the top. The hype was there, but other films have out-hyped this in the past and had a lot less to offer in terms of actual entertainment. The special effects were more often used as necessities than as effects just for the hell of having explosions. The characters and emotions tied throughout the theme, despite being individually flamboyant, steadfast or understandably changeable, are a major crux of the film and carry the on going theme of iconism.

Its length is a problem, not in that it's too long, but in that it has too much to say. A lot of the
