I don't know about you, but when I saw this movie on the big screen, I didn't give two shits about anything else but the giant CGI robots ruining peoples shit. Looking back it was very corny, had horrible dialogue, and stretched your suspension of disbelief to its breaking point (no chick in my high school was as hot as the one in the babe in this movie). But what was the intellectual property they were dealing with? Transformers. You really can't make an Oscar winner with a movie based off a Japanese toy line. But who cares about how good the movie is when so much detail is put into transforming robots that people are having orgasms in the theater seats, soaking a new layer of secret sauce all over their popcorn?!? I think the Nostalgia Critic's review was simply his take on how kick ass and testosterone filled you felt coming out of this movie. I walked to my car waiting for the Hummer I parked next to, to make that bad ass transforming sound and start firing cluster missiles at the Fred Meyer across the street. So no, I don't think this was sarcasm, but instead was pure awesome.

It's called an opinion Steve. Some people are action people. Some people are drama people. A movie like Transformers isn't intended to be drama so I think it's fair to review it as an action movie, not a drama. Who really cares about the plot?

Besides, there weren't really many plotholes when you get right down to it. If anything the problem is the plot is way too simple.

My fave part of this review was twofold:

"A hummer! I'm totally buying a hummer!"

and

"A police car! I always knew police were evil!"

I think this video really shows how good you are at choreography and cinematography, especially during your second "Eye" quote.

I really don't understand this, man! This isn't what I expect from you (granted, this came before you made allyour other videos, and we knew what to expect, but still). I mean, this movie was so ridiculous, I'd be sure (had I seen your other videos before this one) that you would rip it apart.

Stupid crap like interrupting the movie a half-hour into the story to see ANTHONY ANDERSON of all people, shouting racial stereotypes like nobody's business? That specifically is something I'd be sure the Nostalgia critic would rip apart!

Not getting so see practically any robots fighting at all, and instead the whole movie being a propaganda piece for the U.S. Military? The Nostalgia Critic I know would tear that a new one?

Endning the film with asolutely no resolution to the fights because two of the bad guys are STILL THERE, even though one of them had died before, but then mysteriously reappears? Come on, NC. You should be jumping on this shit!

I can't belive it when people say "you can't criticize it for just being an action film." That's just a lame excuse. There are good action films, there are BAD action films (Transformers), and then there are Action films that are truly just great movies (T2, for one).

I'm just saying.

I waited this movie as I loved that cartoon dispite the fact that it was mostly commercial for toys (I didn't see it that way back then) and certainly I just love those giant robots. I was kinda dissapointed from it. Sure it had some great scenes but it also had some pointless parts like Spike talking in class and Bubblebee "peeing" on that agent. Huimor didn't work in it exept that part were those soldier tries to call and that indian guy is as operator. It was kinda funny.

If it wasn't for all the spectacular CG and special effects, this movie would have bombed just like the Street Fighter and Super Mario Bros. live action flicks. People forget that the original Transformers cartoon had just basic animation, but the show is still very popular even by today's standards because of the characters and plot. The movie would have been WAY better if the Transformers were the main characters, like they SHOULD HAVE BEEN. But instead, make way for some dork named Sam, a hot swimsuit model named Mikela, some pop-star British chick, some fat and obnoxious black geek, the FBI, the pentagon, etc. The movie is full of incredibly bad lines and cliches (i.e. dork loser main character hooks up with the hottest and most popular girl in school). When I went to see it, I didn't feel like I was watching Transformers. Instead, I felt like I was watching some retarded teen comedy movie crossed over with a cliche "aliens are attacking the earth" movie.

If they ever do come out with a Transformers II, it better be a HUGE improvement over this piece of horse shit.

First of all, i'd like to say, that if I didn't like the Nostalgia Critic, I would've sued. I mean, this whole review has an uncanny resemblence to my exact reaction to the same movie. But then again, I am a kid of the 80's and I'm sure that he and I both damn near pissed ourselves at the thought of a well done Transformers movie.

I saw this movie only last week. Ad all I can say is... You're right! This movie rocks! And the little robot does sound like a gremlin. Creepy. I love the part where he tries to pass through people without being noticed. He simply walks slowly covering a side of the face. It's funny, because it's nonsense. It's good the producers don't take that kind of humor to the rest of the movie, it's also good that he covering the face only lasted one second. It's a good movie. It has some humor, good sci-fi, good special effects, and I guess it really brings out the child within people... Yeah, maybe...

Eh, it was a decent action movie, but not the best Transformers movie it could've been. I left the theater without a really great "feeling" in me, y'know? Whereas, leaving the theater after the ends of other action movies like Live Free or Die Hard and The Bourne Ultimatum I had a great, satisfied feeling inside.

I have to say, I didn't really grow up watching Transformers, so some of the movie was a bit lost on me.
But in any case, I felt it was a good movie, despite the fact it went slightly over the top with the importance of the missiles and the rock base and all of that.
The only thing that was worthwhile was getting to see the Transformers themselves. A brilliant job of CGI work there.

Ya'll know the movie sucked, just cop to it. The movie had more plot holes than a plot falling into a hole on the plot's family hole farm on the planet plothole in the holy plot galaxy. Your impression of Optimus Prime is dead on and love the screams

To be honest, I never got into that whole Transformer phase as a kid so when the hype about the new movie came out I just sorta shrug and went on my way. It wasn't until I saw this video on youtube, that I decided to give it a try and yeah, I admit it's pretty good. Didn't give a damn about any of the human characters though, except the military soldiers since unlike the majority of the cast, they actually lost comrades.

Screw those morons who deleted your videos, if it weren't for this hilarious skit, I wouldn't even have thought to give this movie a try.
