Oh yes, I remember when the Cloverfield trailer came out, and everybody went to these crazy extremes that they knew what the monster was. Its actually pretty ingenious; you can't really describe the monster, you just have to see it to know what it looks like.

Actually, the title of the movie was the date that was shown. But, since most people started calling it "Cloverfield" over the internet because of a rumor started by one of the staff, they decided to change the name of the movie, so people wouldn't get confused.

And not know what it is is really the fun part of the movie. I mean, you figure it out eventually.

"Filmmakers decided to create a teaser trailer that would be a surprise in the light of commonplace media saturation, which they put together during the preparation stage of the production process. The teaser was then used as a basis for the film itself. Paramount Pictures encouraged the teaser to be released without a title attached, and the Motion Picture Association of America approved the move.[22] As Transformers showed high tracking numbers before its release in July 2007, the studio attached the teaser trailer for Cloverfield that showed the release date of January 18, 2008 but not the title.[11] A second trailer was released on November 16, 2007 which was attached to Beowulf confirming the title.[27]"

Yeah...This was the very first Nostalgia Critic video I ever saw.
I was searching for info. on Cloverfield (or 1-18-0 on Youtube, and I happened acroos this video.(it's all in my Blog Description, people)
Side note: (No offense, Doug, but) I remember first thinking "Oh, God, this is just another asshole's impression of the trailer, not actual info.
Of course, I was wrong, I laughed my ass off and subscribed.
...And then I found Brad Johnson and 1-18-08news.com and some Actual Info.!
But thanks for the laughs, anyway
