YES, FINALLY SOMEONE WHO USES DAILYMOTION INSTEAD OF BLIP.TV!!!

The point of this is to showcase great action, Silverlightsaber`s true talent is not in the form of this video. Therefore he has done better.

Sorry, but this really didn't do anything for me. It's a generic fake "x meets y" fan trailer like you see on Youtube all the time. It's clear you have a promising idea, but I'd recommend trying to work it into original videos with you and others acting rather than trailer mash-ups.

This is not his true potential, he has done better so before you judge, question or even point out things that you may not truly understand, watch his other videos. There not just mash-ups as you may describe them as but are fantastic pieces of entertainment and are done in care for the viewers.

I understand he my have other, better, videos, but the comments are for THIS video, not for the creator of them in general.

11.12.2009 - 22:53 | CR! - Interesting...
Not a bad match up. Leaned towards the Hellboy side a little too much in the audio, but still good.

It was a good mash-up, but I'm not really sure it fits in with the other stuff here.
-
11.12.2009 - 22:57 | NoahClue22 - Eh, no thanks.
I can see where the idea for this stems from. Editing two films to make it look like a crossover of epic awesomeness. Executed properly, this could be really entertaining.
Unfortunately, the way it's pulled off in this pilot episode is really bland. This editing idea has been done before (to death almost) on every satire site out there, and this one doesn't look any different. It wasn't exciting, funny, satirical, entertaining, thought provoking, or anything noteworthy at all. It was just really really boring.
If you want to create a series that applies editing of films into trailers like this, try juxtapositioning films that don't belong together. Like..."Casablanca vs. Zombieland" or "Pinocchio vs. The Nightmare Before Christmas". There are LOTS of ways to make really unneccessary crossovers funny, and certainly enough films to go around. Think "Animaniacs Stew" gone cinematic!
This video alone is nothing special. There's hints of promise, if only by the premise alone. Think about it, and I'll give you guys one more chance.

I gave you a thumbs up on your comment, NoahClue22, but the next time you try and sound sophisticated, please know what word you're using.
"juxtaposition" = real word
"juxtaposing"= what you should have used
juxtapositioning" = not an option
This is just a friendly reminder from Douchey McNitpick.

I'd like to see more! Though, I would like to see a few more episodes before I make a solid judgment.

Great editing, but it honestly is a lot like stuff found on YouTube. I think a direction that could be taken with this is a comparison of two movies and discussing them or something with someone, but just taking two trailers and mashing them up like that isn't that good of an idea, even IF the editing was astounding.

11.12.2009 - 23:01 | Titanaman - Nice Work.
You're showing this to a pretty avid Hellboy fan, so I gotta pull for him against the good ol' green steroid.
Plus if I'm gonna watch any Hulk, it's gotta be Edward Norton; none of that nonsense from Eric Bana. Still, this is a pretty interesting crossover idea. Combining cut scenes and separate previews to make one trailer; surprisingly I'm interested to see more.
I do hope you'll do more of these because, as That Guy With The Glasses pointed out, fans eat crossovers up.

11.12.2009 - 23:06 | Ensiferum
Well that was definitely interesting. If nothing else it was well edited.
The best thing about this though is that it's hosted on Dailymotion instead of shitty, laggy bliptv; how about hosting everything on Dailymotion permanently?
-
11.12.2009 - 23:07 | idiotbox2099 - its silverlightsaber!
this is silverlightsaber a guy who makes the best fake trailers ever on youtube. he's on this site now? nice, before copyrights catch up to him there

Pretty good mash up. My problem is that this kinda thing is more a youtube thing, as this sort of video can show up on there all the time.
I wouldnt mind if this were like a secondary project of yours while you have your own main show on the site (like how some of the members make there own 5 second movies every so often). I dont think this should be the only thing you do on this site.
Still this is pretty good tho. If ya ever have anything else, I'll watch it

I remember seeing a robocop VS terminator mini series with a lot of integration work that worked really well... I was expecting this kind of stuff here...
-
11.12.2009 - 23:10 | Adersick
Nicely edited overall, and I actually got a laugh out of it. Whether or not that's the creator's intention is another matter but this proved to be interesting to say the least.
-
11.12.2009 - 23:10 | Superkaiju - seriously?
This is the kind of crap you'd expect to be done by a nerd with far to much time on his hands jizzin over who'd win in a fight. these kinda of mash ups were never good. i hate it when just jumpin around late night and finding on of these by mistake. Even when done well they still look stupid. please, let this die here.

Like some others have said, it was well-edited. Kudos on that. Unfortunately, I didn't find it funny, or even a good idea. I'd much rather see original content, or at least something new involving these clips. I don't think TGWTG is the place for this kind of thing. Again, I will say that it was well done.

11.12.2009 - 23:29 | AdamTheGreat91
I don't think TGWTG is the right place for this kind of content. Its not a bad video by any means, but it 1. take up a new video slot that could go to a more original user based content 2. it really isn't that funny or informative. Stick to finding funny people on the internet. They are more suited for this site.

Wait... isn't this the work of one "silverlightsaber" from Youtube?
Bring him in! I love his work!
-
11.12.2009 - 23:53 | Wuggy
Ok, don't get me wrong. It's a good video, very well edited and all. But I think this shouldn't be featured in the site. What I'd like to see is that this site would concentrate on personalities, but then again, who am I to impose ideas? I'm just thinking that I have some people with me on this.
Pretty much what I'm saying is this: I would not like to see this taking off a video slot that could've been LordKaT, MikeJ etc.
-
11.13.2009 - 00:01 | mwong04
Umm, if videos like this are allowed on the site then this is no different from youtube. I mean, of course we have people like LordKat and Guru Larry who talk thoroughly about video games and critic who does movies. But this seems more like a creative chore than an actually personal performance.
Its a good video and I like it. But...get what I mean?
-
11.13.2009 - 00:09 | Timstuff
It was pretty meh if you ask me. This concept is all over youtube and it doesn't usually work out that well, since it's just a footage mashup with no real effort put into making it look like the characters are sharing screentime.
Now Terminator vs. Robocop-- THERE is a movie mashup worthy of praise!
