While I thought the first video was alright this second video isn't that great. I'm not sure if he is trying to be funny or if he is trying to inform me. Either way IMO he failed on both ends.

Nice work Joe. I love your videos. I been watching them on youtube. You don't make me fall asleep like linkara. I swear that guys makes too many videos of boring comics. We get it they suck.

01.13.2009 - 13:43 | AngryJoeShow - Parody Format
Hopefully you guys will see that some of the points aren't supposed to be taken too seriously.
See The "Top Reasons" Videos are a parody format series designed to talk about cool aspects of upcoming games, with some entertaining spoofs/skits/sketches thrown it here and there. (this video and some others that will be posted here, were made weeks, sometimes months before the game released)
I myself go to Sage or Spoony for the Intelligent Analysis stuff (Gameplay footage as well) Its like im playing the game while they review it. They have the luxury of having the game already released and playing it as is, The Top Reasons series are Game Previews - sort of "Hype Discussions". Before a game comes out, what can we expect? What sort of cool features might it have? What do we already know about it and how can it go wrong? BAM! - then we talk about those things and we toss in some parodies. What would happen if gears of war 2 had crazy new gun combination? Or if left 4 dead had a playable weapon that blasted the "thriller" song over the loud speakers to control the zombies. Some of it we know will be in the game, others we wish were in there, and some just over the top loony

I have another series that "reviews" the games, but the Top Reasons are produced mainly to be a short entertaining diversion until the actual game releases!Anyway, I hope you guys offer some suggestions! I care about what you guys think, and anything to help improve the show (in our parody format) would definitely be read and noted.

See, I actually liked this video quite a bit better than the last one. I thought it had some great parts. And no, I won't be the typical internet dude and say the "great parts" are that Emily chick. I mean, I won't SAY it, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't have fought over who gets to repopulate the world with her too...
But yeah, much better this time. I liked it. Maybe I'm just a sucker for a Thriller reference, I don't know.
-
01.13.2009 - 14:13 | AngryJoeShow - Hell Yeah
IF anyone of you guys don't like Zombies or the idea of a Zombie Apocalypse Scenario, I'll have to personally revoke your "Man" Card. Thats completely and utterly unacceptable! Same goes if you wouldn't want to repopulate the world with Emmers! Haha.
And If you don't already have a Zombie Survival Plan than I demand you start work on one tonight, and report back here as soon as your finished to share with us!

Okay, I gotta hand it to AJ...Though the video isn't all that great and his "comedic timing" as it is needs alot of work, that Thriller bit actually made me laugh pretty hard, thumbs up for that, but he really needs to work more on these videos. Jokes go on for too long, even the thriller bit, and the movies just drag on. Only stayed through the video to give my take on it since I ended up stopping the GoW2 video before it was done. Still don't think he's right for the site.

01.13.2009 - 16:11 | Linkara
HA! While the Thriller section dragged a little, this was hilarious. I especially loved the ending segment with the argument over who gets to protect Emily but she's the one doing all the zombie killing. Sound could've been pushed up, but hilarious stuff as always, Joe!
;D

01.13.2009 - 16:11 | baba44713 - Not bad..
..but Emily acts worse then Paris Hilton. Also, tighter editing (and adding in some simple muzzle flashes) could make the video even better.
Still, not bad.

01.13.2009 - 17:17 | Johnny Midnite
Once again, I approve of this guy! Although, as mentioned above, comedic timing does need to be worked on.

01.13.2009 - 17:58 | Viktormon - Funnieh
Seriously weird, I dreamed about zombies just tonight O.o
Awesome video. I look forward to this game, even if I don't ever play zombie/scary games... Ever XD

Zombies rule,

The idea of Zombie Apocalypse rules,
And this game rules.

It is awesome video, funnies i have seen so far from you!
but Why don't you tell us something we don't know?
I'm not trying to be an ass here, I am just saying that i have seen all of these features before on other review shows. It would have been better if you told us that the zombies can actually run, unlike on other games they are slow and stupid. The witch ripping of peoples twats in game? I mean the little awsome things. You told us before on you GOW2 video about the combo weapons, but other review shows didn't adress that, that made it unique. But here it was the same as everyone else... Specially the AI director... gosh that feature is praised allot, when games way before had random dungeon and enemy placing... But that is more of an issue of the general public in staid of joe...
PS: Nice touch that you get your friends to work with you!

Okay, so now I've watched both this and the GoW 2 video, and I have to say, I don't think this guy is good enough for the site at all. I guess I could agree with what he had to say about the game but it just wasn't funny or special at all (in my opinion of course.)

01.14.2009 - 00:44 | garethxxgod - The Zombie Survival Guide
My God Man....why would you need to WRITE a Zombie Surival Plan when Max Brooks already wrote "The Zombie Survival Guide". And you guys say you like Zombies? If Mr. Brooks were a corpse he'd be rolling in his grave trying to get out so he could eat your flesh for trying to trump his book!
I'm serious though, go check out Max Brook's "Zombie Survival Guide"....NOW. It's the reason I don't have to write my own, I let a professional handle it. If you can find it, get his second book "World War Z" as well (about a Zombie Apocalypse Scenario).

01.14.2009 - 01:27 | norgavue
I am probably the person who spends the most time worrying about zombie apocalypse scenarios and though the game looks kewl this video doesn't do it for me. Kudos for anyone pointing out max brooks genius book however. And the triller thing went on a bit too long. Just a few seconds would have been fine.

Great video! The thriller was a nice touch xD reminded me of the old game Moonwalker

I loved it XD the way you parody the Hype about a game and the hyper hype that fanboys suffer while speculating, pure genious! I really hope you make it into the site ;D

01.14.2009 - 03:20 | TheGameTester - Hrmmm...Getting better...
AngryJoeShow,
I understand that this is supposed to be a Parody and that you typically make these before the games themselves come out. However I guess I still wish you would take some of the screenshots or trailers that have been shown and use them with your videos to give the audience some visual reference as to what you are talking about.
Plus...I guess it just still has that campiness feeling. Instead of writing parodies for the audience it feels like you are just making something for you and your friends to laugh at.
It does seem like with this video you have a better understanding how green screen works and your cutting is getting better. I have to say I'm still not really a fan. But I can tell overall the hard work and potential is all there. Keep up the work bro!
Life is meant to be played,

01.14.2009 - 03:42 | Hecubusx - Another boring Angry Joe video.
You don't have to yell so much, it didn't work for Sinbad, and it doesn't work for you.
Not very entertaining video overall.

01.14.2009 - 04:46 | Trelela
I find it all hilarious and wanting me to play the game. I don't even know how it looks like (I'm very behind in the gaming world right now). I like the way you guys do it. And I think it's funnier than Gears of War 2 video you made :]

01.14.2009 - 04:52 | CoolIT - Alright game but here are my top 5 reasons why it
Not saying it's not a good game, just giving arguments as of why it does not kick ass.
1 Lack of Content.
Sure there is the AI Director, however it would not have hurt to have 5 or 6 levels... 4... that's kinda short.2 Lack of Campaign implementation. Yes there are 4 individual levels, but they could have made an option to play campaign, add some scripted story here and there and make it so that campaign mode forces you to pass through the first to the last level...
3 Lack of Guns... Generic Shotgun, Uzi, M4A1, Generic Autoshotty, Simple semi auto sniper rifle Generic Handgun(s) Pipe Bomb, Molotov...
Could have added more random guns laying about or randomly being placed with the wonderful AI Director such as: AK47, Grenade launcher or scope attachments for the M4A1, Desert Eagle, the Aug, why not an old school bolt action rifle... MORE THEN 5 Main Weapons !!!! 8 might have hit the spot that's not much to ask...4 Free Content... Some other game developers occasionally add free content to an already released game... considering the lack of it... it would be nice but I don't expect it.
5 THE PRICE... 50$ in my opinion is 10$ too much... 40$ would have been a perfect price for a game that has about 4 hours of content.
why 40... well 30 is too cheap because this is a good game, well coded, access to source engine mods.... Great game... and 50 is just too much for the actual content... there 40$ would have been Flawless
I own the game and I do enjoy it. However I do not play it much because of the same shit different day syndrom.
This game truly shines if you and 5 REAL LIFE friends own it... then you play with your real buddies instead of total strangers....

01.14.2009 - 06:37 | MasterDS - Same thing as last time, still crap, and still, we
This time however I love the game in question. I've played it for over a month now and it's still loads of fun, but I'd have to say the problem with his review is that his points are based on hype. Also, with the best point, if top 5 is to be taken literally, is at the front there's no Build Up. Here's what I would've said, after playing of course. Lowest factor to highest of course.
5. The AI Director. While presented as a sure way to mix up the gameplay, ultimately it all boils down to this. Zombies will come from places sometimes, others they will lay low. There will be hunters, a boomer, and a smoker somewhere until you kill them, and you're liable to run into a random medpack, item, tank or witch at any point. While you'd think they'd be at logical points the Director figured would augment their purpose in the game, this idea is quashed by the meant to be sneaked around Witch spawning in the middle of necessary doorways. However, for what it matters the game remains fun and there are both moments of overwhelming hoards of Zombies and quiet tension, limping around the office before the warehouse of No Mercy Stage 3 looking for a medpack after a very hard Tank battle, which sometimes the AI Director is nice enough to give you, and other times not so lucky, creating an urge to look around, dread for the next hoards if none can be found, and joy when you do manage to heal up.
4. Application of filmic effects into the graphics to create an excellent atmosphere. Nowadays graphics seem to be geared towards providing excellent accuracy towards people using HD TVs, sometimes giving little thought to anyone who would just like it to look good under any circumstances. Course I'd like to think that I'm giving them too little credit, but when half the games on the 360 (Got the 360 version by the way) have font too small to be read on a Standard Definition TV it's hard to deny this truth. Left 4 Dead goes the other way, focusing on filmic effects like color correction, film grain, and local contrast to help create a great zombie tone, as seen here. http://www.l4d.com/blog/images/posts/004/5_all.jpg Also, the lighting is excellently done, commonly being from abandoned cars (including police cars), trucks, and even planes, fires, and the player himself, creating a feeling that something isn't right. While not quite as detailed as other 360 games, or quite as clean, it creates an excellent atmosphere.
3. Crescendos and Finales. While most of the game is running through the environment as fast as your team can, these few occasions is where you get the chance to sit down and are given good excuse to mow down a few waves of Zombies with a mounted gun from one place. Placed throughout the campaigns, Crescendos vary from ones with great cover but too many entrance routes for Zombies, to occasions where the easiest route seems to be to run for cover across a rooftop killing zombies dropping from a higher ledge and climbing from the back of a truck. However, what they are is a high point in the campaign, and massive fun every time. Meanwhile, the finales are about 5, 10 minutes of zombie hoard, Tank, silence, Hoard, Tank, Silence, Rescue (AI Director feels he got it right the first time apparently). While the Crescendo's usually have one or two good spots to mow down the hoard, the finales usually have several, and they're all worth trying. Take No Mercy for example, you can do it in the Radio room if you don't mind it being a bit plain, on the top of the radio room for a fantastic experience, though a little dangerous when the Tanks come, my favorite by the way, or you could hide under the stairs if you're cheap. It's always fun to make a run for it when the escape vehicle arrives, limping to it with a mob of zombies including a third tank on you, just make it, provided no player is a computer player, which are guaranteed to be a mile behind, causing the Tank to kill everyone who did make it into the vehicle, and fly, drive, or speedboat away, victorious.
