Wow, can't wait for the joint review! Does this mean the feud has ended now?
    Interesting other choices ;)

  • rangerdude  - cant wait

cant wait till all of them, especially doug and james collab :cheer:

  • ShaZaM

wow you really plan ahead :side:

  • Tom_The_Reader

Holy... He's actually going to do Gargoyles??? THIS IS FANTASTIC!!! I loved that show so much! And Steel and Captain N too? It's going to be a great couple of months! Can't wait for Doug and James's joint review.

  • MegaMadDeath

    Can't wait

  • MadScientistJC

Wait? Steel? As in another Shaq movie? Are you sure you can take it Doug? I mean it's only been like 7 months since your Kazaam review, that kind of bad can stick in your system for a long time, maybe you should wait at least a year before you try that.

  • FullmetalNinja25  - w00t!

All look like they're gonna be great episodes to me! I especially can't wait for the joint review! :woohoo:

  • Minkaro

Last Action Hero is brilliant >:[ I shall not stand for insults.

Not entirely sure what I'll do about them, but rest assured I shall fold my arms in disapproval at least.

  • Tikara

GARGOYLES YEAH~ Also the Cereal mascots thing looks interesting~

  • BobFilling

I really wish that NC would review films I've actually seen!!

  • tofupunk

He remembers it, so you don't have to. ;)

  • darkpice

Last action hero should be one of his best. real talk.

  • Steebs

Hell yeah, Last Action Hero. Can't wait for that one. :)

Also looking forward to the joint review, should be good! ;)

  • jkthedj  - Hmmm...

June 9th - Doug and James Joint Review--Of What? Details, Details!

June 16th - Sidekicks--I think we just found Conan O'Brien's newest Chuck Norris related device...

    June 23rd - Gargoyles--
I kinda liked it, but I wasn't "In Like" with it.

June 30th - Steel--Another Shaq Attack? This will be one of your best reviews!

July 7th - Top 11 Cereal Mascots-- That's different, but I like the idea already

July 14th - Barbed Wire-- Don't you mean "Barb Wire" W/Pamela Anderson? (I think that's what you meant)

July 21st - New vs Old - LOTR Animated vs Lord of the Rings-- Bashki Wins, Hands Down! Nothing against Peter Jackson, but a few Oscars can do something to a film in the long run.

July 28th - Last Action Hero--
Finally! Took you long enough. I saw it on "Encore" so many times, I'm ready for anything.

Aug 4th - Captain N-- A lot of people asked for this one, and after seeing clips of it on the Tube, Rip. It. Hard!

    Future Requests:

    1. "Small Wonder"--Quite possibly the WORST Sitcom Ever Made (In a "So Bad, it's good" kind of way)

    2. "Cats Don't Dance"--Again, Spay this Kitty.

    3. "We're Back: A Dinosaur Story"--Seriously, John Goodman, Jay Leno, Martin Short, Kenneth Mars, Walter Cronkite, ( :0 ) And Julia Child (???!!!???) How can you go Wrong

    4. "Freddie The Frog" (AKA :Agent F.R.O.7.")--Probably the worst thing (Sir) Ben Kingsley will have done...until the first "Species" movie, IMO. (And "Species" wasn't a terrible movie, just Ben Kingsley's role)

    5. "Rover Dangerfield"--Even Rodney couldn't respect Himself after this...especially when he Sings in it.

    Ball's in your court, guys...

  • MysticStudiosProductions

With Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, he didn't have another film to look at. The crew had to create an entire world from scratch. All Peter Jackson had to do was look at Bakshi's film, and boom, instant mega-franchise.

  • MysticStudiosProductions

Oh, and let's not forget how Jackson initially denied having seen the film, then went back and said that he saw it, but it didn't inspire him to read the books, and then said that he read the books because of the movie.

One interview, he couldn't keep his story straight, and said both that he read the book when he was 18 and then claiming that he saw the film and was inspired to read the book.

This is why Jackson's Return of the King had a million fucking endings.

  • Lodeman AKA LARUCUS  - well well well..

thanks for posting this... i will keep an eye out for them...

  • ThatFellowInTheCoat

This seems to be a more action-oriented lineup and only the cereal mascots one applies as nostalgic for me.

But, I'm looking forward to these nonetheless.

  • benzaie

oh oh LOTR animated...beware of all the fans of this wreck of a movie if you dare say it was garbage (when it really was) :)

hopefully you won't have the ppl schooling about how the animated was great in its own sense :)

  • MysticStudiosProductions

Your video got negative comments because you exaggerated scenes and events to make them appear flawed, and invented flaws that didn't exist, not because you hated the film.

  • The Mellow Filmmaker

Interesting line up. Here's what I think of each one.

Doug & James joint review: Can't have much of an opinion on what it is.

Sidekicks: Be careful becasue Mako's in this movie also. Does anyone else see that this movie is pretty much a rip off of Last action Hero.

Gargoyles: heard it was a good TV series.

Steel: Shaq + Ironman rip off plot = great episode.

Top 11 Cereal Mascots: I don't know. Most cereal mascots seem to suck with the exception of Tony the Tiger.

Barbed Wire: looks like poor taste eye candy.

New VS Old- LOTR Animated VS Live action: animated one looks stupid, live action one is great.

Last action hero: after many delays it is finally here. (okay maybe after 1 delay)

Captain N: It's a video game crossover show and as we all know crossovers always seems to suck. (With the exception of the TGWTG crossovers)

  • syklo

Nice line-up there. I was hoping for couple of certain novies showing on list but maybe later then

  • A.I. Jester

Gargoyles, oh my god! I LOVED that show so much! I was so pissed when Disney took it off... screw Disney and all that. >>

Can't wait for the Nerd and Critic review, along with the cereal mascots. I'm really curious about that one. Bet the rooster on the Cornflakes box will somehow worm it's way onto that list.

  • RDP009

So are you reveiwing a Crappy Movie or Video Game?

  • Cinemasquerade  - wuhuu

the Gargoyles and Last Action Hero reviews will be great,
but don't be tooooo hard to them

  • Mr.tron  - Well

I was going to say something about not ripping Gargoyles. But after seeing the Short Circuit review, I know it's going to get a fair treatment.

  • horrible_sanity

im hoping the joint review is a crappy video game movie and there certinly are plenty of those to choose from. i remember liking sidekicks i dont think its a ripoff of last action hero like mellow said in last action hero the kid meets his favorite movie charecter in side kicks the kid just wants to be like norris and he imagines him the whole time untill the end where he meets him id say its more of a karate kid rip off then anything. as far as gargoyles goes i hope this is that rare ocassion where doug likes something i love this show and like x-men it was great and had more adult themes then most cartoons of its time i mean i remember an episode where eliza gets shot and almost dies plus the piolet shows goliths whole family get slaughtered at the begining. steel sucked pretty bad theres no doubt about that but i found this little tidbit on wikipedia

The film was originally designed to be a spinoff of a new Superman film that used the Death of Superman storyline that originally introduced the character in the comics. The project languished in development hell for so long the spinoff moved forward without the film it was to be attached to. Due to insufficient budget, most of the property (especially Steel's suit) is taken from the Los Angeles junkyard. A similar incident happened with Catwoman, a spin-off of Batman Returns, where so much time had passed and the project changed so much the connection was lost.

and honestly if they had picked a big black guy that could act like michel clark duncun or vin reghines then it may have had a chance but with bender from breakfast club as the bad guy and shaque making basketball jokes it was doomed.
ceral mascots will be cool lucky the leprican has to win though his black magic beats out everyone else easy there is no way a psychopathic bird, add tiger, stupid tucan, pirate, singing midgets, a frog, sevral versions of a bee the newist of witch is incredibly anoying, a stupid rabbit that doesent just go buy a box of cereal, honestly the only mascots that come close are fred and barney becuase they are clasic but the evil black magic that lucky uses is strongest of all.
barb wire is just a hour and a half clevage shot of pam with pretty bad action scenes and heres some trvia for you the director before and after this has only done music videos he was hired becuase he was cheap.
im looking foward to the new vs old but im not a lord of the rings fan at all.

last action hero oh boy arnold playing himself basicly and he meets him self and theres a cartoon cat what more can i say.
captain n wow for a kids show it had a decent concept but and would have worked if they hadent gotten all of the heroes wrong. megaman is not green pansy and simon belmont is not a prissy pretty boy not to mention all the voices where anoying as a kid it was like oh wow all my favorite charecters are in the same show but after the fisrt 3 seconds it becomes role on the floor crying in agony bad but i will admit i have cut the cord from a nes zapper and wraped a controller around my waist more then once.

  • dan_plaz

Wow... here is what I must say:

Doug and James review - can't wait for the surprise
Sidekicks - never seen, let's see it.
Gargoyles - Wow, and I thought people love it
    Steel - Shaq attack again!
Top 11 cereal mascots - Wo woulda thought you could make cereal mascots important?
    Barbed wire - ...... she's hot
New vs old: LoTR movies - interesting
    Last action hero - Finally
Captain N - Yes! Payback time for what they did to Megaman and Simon Belmont.

  • Esteban

June 9th - Doug and James Joint Review
Excellent, can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

    June 16th - Sidekicks
I'd never heard of this so I looked it up. A sick kid dreams of becoming Chuck Norris? I see potential.

    June 23rd - Gargoyles
The movie or the show? Either way I'm not really familiar with it.

    June 30th - Steel
Poor Shaq. He just can't make a good movie. Critic, have no mercy.

    July 7th - Top 11 Cereal Mascots
Interesting. This should have some good nostalgic value to it.

    July 14th - Barbed Wire
The one with Pamela Anderson? Please destroy this movie (figuratively, but also literally if possible)

July 21st - New vs Old - LOTR Animated vs Lord of the Rings
Probably not a very good candidate for NvO if you ask me, just because there is no competition here. New will blow old out of the water.

July 28th - Last Action Hero
I loved this movie as a kid, but it really does need to be ripped apart.

    Aug 4th - Captain N
Excellent. I used to watch this every morning. I recently rewatched some clips and was wondering how I ever enjoyed this thing. Plus, it is sort of sad to see just how far one of Motown's greatest vocalists, Levi Stubbs, had fallen.

  • rev erebus

    joint review cool

gargoyles didn't that show have some big names doing the voices on it

  • catiescarlett

:) Yep, a lot of the voices were provided by people who are best known for their roles on Star Trek The Next Generation.

  • Schose82  - Doug/James review and future NC requests

I would love to see Doug and James review both "The Wonder Years" and "Freaks and Geeks" although James doesn't usually review TV/Movies.

They could do a Grandma's Boy review because since this movie is somewhat about video games although it was released in 2006.

Here are my future NC requests:

MTV month--A month full of great videos, shows, animated shows, and VJs.

Old vs. New: TWY vs. F&G--Doug, you have got to do this one, please :-)

Stand By Me--I like to see Doug review this movie although it is rated R. It's one of my all-time favorite films.

'80s Teen Movies--I would see Doug to take a retrospective how the decade of greed changed the way we look at teen movies.

Top 11 Most Nostalgic Rocky Moments--Damn it, if the AVGN/James can do devote to Rocky, why can't Doug?

The Karate Kid Series retrospective--Since Sidekicks is going to be reviewed next month, I like see Doug take on the whole franchise.

Old vs. New: Scooby Doo cartoons vs. Scooby Doo films--I like to see Doug's reaction to the transformation from Velma the bulldyke to Velma the Linda Cardellini ;-) Jinkies!

Encino Man--The NC can review the evolution the Pauly Shore phenomenon and the debut of Brendan Frasier as the title character.

Homage to '80s Action Films--Since Doug devoted the '90s sports montages, I like to see him devote his views on the action films of the 1980s.

    P.S. Can't wait for the Captain N review :-)

    Schose82

  • WillisFan18

I would like to see a review on the wonder years as well. Hell, we're probably not the only ones who think so. but if he's gonna do a review with the AVGN, they're probably gonna do a movie/game tie-in like final fantasy, or doom or something.

  • surfingmullet16  - Oh dear God...

    Before reading: *drinking water*

After reading the very first line: *spitting water out in shock*

Oh man, I can't wait!!!! This is going to be so sick!

And yeah, I agree with jkthedj, "Cats Don't Dance" NEEDS to be verbally neutered by you, Critic.
