Hello all,

Mike here with a new Status of the Site.  This update is only going to talk about the Live Donation Drive and some fixed site issues.

Live Donation Drive Information:
I'll answer some quick questions that seem to be asked often.
 The videos that are on the Live Drive will be added to the site over the next 2 weeks.
 We will put up the full segment on the site as well after it airs (a few days afterwards maybe.)
 If you donated from 2/8/09 up till the Drive you still will get credit for the stuff that we will give away.
 If you donate $100 or more after the Drive all the stuff will still be given to you (items depend on how much you donate, refer to the promo video for the tiers), and Doug will still call you if you donate $200 or more, but if you do $300 or more, we won't be able to mention you on this drive, but your name will be mentioned in a Special Thank You video that will be made later on. (Anyone who donates during the drive will have their name mentioned in this video.)
 All the money that we receive will be going towards some Special Events planned around our One Year Anniversary (April 21st will be the start of it).
 We will wait until the T-shirt contest is done before we email you to ask for the shirt that you want, your shirt size, and your current address (for the shirt, and autograph).

Also, the site will be made into a basic site for the most part as the Drive goes on, and will not revert back to a fully functional site until the Drive is over.  From what I have been told, Justin.TV (who we are using to host this drive), has audio issues with Internet Explorer and at times Opera.  So please use Firefox or Safari.

 

Fixed Site Issues:

Forums:
Well the new design is up, after some issues that caused a few days delay.  Unfortunately as a result of the issues, I was forced to restore the forums from a two day old backup, and as a result we lost some posts.  Everything is up and running fine now, and hey it looks like the site!

Menus Going Behind the Video:
I finally had time to fix this annoying issue. It was a simple fix, and is now done.

Revver Exodus:
All our videos are now on Blip, and as a result, I took off all the Revver links on the site.  I plan on deleting the videos on Revver and the Revver account we have in a few days.

Site Optimization:
Most of you may not see a difference, but I have tweaked the site a small bit, and got rid of about 50 or so database calls on each page, and cleared up some white space and code.  As the weeks go along I may change some stuff to help this site run a bit faster and more reliable.  Unfortunately one of the biggest bottlenecks on the site is the commenting because it does do pagination right and forces me to have all the comments displayed at once instead of 30 or so per page.  I was told that this should be fixed by a component update that will happen late March.

My Image Isn't Showing:
This was caused by a mess-up in the sync that runs between the two servers, but it's fixed now.  So your avatars and the images that you upload to your blog can now be seen all the time.

Embedding Videos in the Blogs:
 I have changed the way that you can embed videos (no longer done on the right menu of the blog editor), please read the FAQ area that is under the Site Stuff menu, for information on how to embed videos in your blog now.

 

Issues To Be Fixed:
IE Crash on 5 Second Movies and Transmission Awesome (older episodes).  I'm hoping I can take care of this by Sunday.
