Doug and Mike in D.C.

So you may have been wondering, "Hey why weren't there any new items added to the site on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday? Well I'll tell you why!
Doug and I were invited by PBS to head down to Washington D.C, to have Doug film a commercial spot for one of their upcoming documentaries entitled: Make 'Em Laugh: 100 Years of Comedy. Doug will be the commercial for the documentary. From what we were told this commercial will air before certain movies in the theaters, and during some cable and local television shows (America only, sorry rest of the world :( ). They also said that they will be giving us a list of where it will be appearing, so I should be able to DVR the TV spot and hopefully we can cam the commercial playing before the movies; so we can they have them shown of the site. The trip was a much needed diversion for myself, and actually quite fun. D.C. is a very nice play to visit (as long as you stay in the main part), and well PBS was nothing short of awesome! Doug and I thank you for everything you guys (and girls) did for us, and it was great to meet all of you!
One odd thing I did learn from watching the local news though.. See in Chicago, if you get killed it's generally from getting shot, but in D.C... well you apparently must suffer before you die, because all the murders that I saw on their local news entailed Fire and Stabbing.. Not cool D.C. Not Cool!
On a side note, we didn't get a sponsorship from Family Video, which we were really hoping for, as Family Video is the Video Rental/Sales chain that Doug uses to get a lot of the rarer movies/shows for the Nostalgia Critic reviews. We thought it would be a perfect fit, as most people we talk to never even heard of the company. The commercials we would have created for the company would have blended in with the Nostalgia Critic segments flawlessly, and most likely really brought attention to a fairly large, but at times unknown Video Rental Chain. Plus I know a lot of you, do end up buying or renting movies based upon Doug's Nostalgia Critic reviews. Oh well.
Now onto a Quick Round Robin Style of Updates:
New Articles up tomorrow
New Best of Blogs picked tomorrow, and frontpage'd
New NC will be delayed to Tuesday or Wednesday due to the trip, sorry guys!

That's it for now!
Mike
