Posting Videos On Youtube.
Some ass actually has been trying to post Premium Content on Youtube.
When I find out who is doing this, I will ban you from accessing the Premium
Area. Now it has come to my attention that there are also a lot of
people posting Videos from this site on Youtube. We will begin to start
flagging these shortly. I believe the only guy that we will not flag has
the NC/AVGN (or something like that) account, as he actually goes out and says
that the videos are not his, and posts links back to this site (hopefully if you
read this, you can make them a little more visable)
We not only lose viewers, but money as well from this, so unless you're the
guy above stop now.

While i have to say that Lindsay looks breattaking and Kaylyn scares me about as much as the NC dos the girls i showed his videos to i´ed have to say go with Krissy. It just felt like she did take on making it a bit more "of her own" while the others felt a lot more NC Inspired.

I liked Drew's version of The Last Unicorn better than Kaylyn's. I think too many reviewers these days are trying to review things angrily whether or not what is being reviewed is deserving of it. Some things Kaylyn pointed out I did find myself asking when I saw the movie, but some other things were a bit far fetched. I did however like Kaylyn's tag line the best of all the entries. I didn't feel like Lauren really reviewed anything. She had a themed list, and made a few comments on things from her list, but in the end I just feel like she just complained a lot. I liked both Lindsay's and Krissy's reviews a lot. They were very entertaining, and both made good picks for their reviews. I would enjoy either of them being the Nostalgia Chick, but because I'd have to pick one, I'll go with Lindsay. Her performance felt more natural. I just hope the puppies thing was just a running gag with this video, and won't continue through all her future videos.

I prefer Kaylyn's video of the Last Unicorn to the others. She put a lot of work, thought, and effort into it, and it shows. Her background doesn't distract you, it is entirely plain white, the lighting was well done and doesn't leave everything in shadow, and her review was genuinely engaging and entertaining.
Krissy seemed to rely too much on herself, and not the review. It was entertaining that she did a transformation at the start, but it wasn't actually what I personally was looking for in a review of sailor moon. Also personally, I did not find any of her jokes funny past the "Pretty puddle". Also, I don't appreciate that she relied on her striptease to garner an audience. I know you're a woman okay, but that doesn't mean everyone thinks of you just for the sex. I find it disrespectful to me, and to you.
Lindsay, I did not like, too much reference to sex, and it was constant. I know we're looking for a nostalgia "chick" but come on, if you don't want men everywhere thinking of you as an object for sex, don't keep pandering to the stereotype. As I mentioned before, I find it disrespectful to me, and to you.
Lauren was funny, genuinely funny, but was rather slow. At the times she was speaking, she made a few good jokes, but it was still a little too slow moving. A lot of her expressions seemed forced as well, the jokes were good, but her voice didn't convey that feeling to me. Also, the girls gone wild clip wasn't necessary. Call me a prude, but I don't care whether or not there's sex, do try to keep it at least slightly child friendly.
Drew was okay, but having two The Last Unicorn reviews kind of ruins her chances. Maybe I'm playing favourites, but her review just wasn't as good as Kaylyn's. Kaylyn talked me through the movie, Drew made me watch it. She talked a bit, then played the movie for a good long while, then talked a bit, then played the movie for a good while.
Long story short, Kaylyn is my choice, she was the most entertaining of the five, and for my personal tastes, did not degrade herself by referring constantly to the fact that "she has boobs". She was entertaining by herself, with words only, no "I'm a girl, I have boobs! Woo!" jokes, and, here's one I liked a lot, she did not ever drop an "F Bomb". I don't think that kind of language should be used, but especially not from a woman. Maybe that's chauvinistic, but I don't like the F-word at any time.
Kaylyn is my vote. Thank you for your time.

Okay, after perusing the comment table, I decided to REGISTER and JOIN, two things I don't ever do unless it's to my own benefit and also free. But seeing that the people making the right decision seem about even with the people making the wrong one, I thought I would throw in my two cents.
I was under the impression, after watching Kaylyn's video on YouTube, that any rational mind would of course vote for her, as she was the only potential Nostalgia Chick that was both clever and funny, and didn't resort to Fucks and Tits for attention. To be fair, I have a goldfish-sized memory, so it's entirely possible that she swore and remarked upon her breasts and the having of breasts, but if she did, it was subtle and didn't feel out of place. Lindsay's curse came out of goddam nowhere, as I recollect.
Oh, and she didn't do any fact checking. Lauren comes off as sarcastic and menstrual, so she was out of the running faster than that chubby Aussie in the forum section, the embittered one that posed strategically so that all her viewers (all six) could see that she wasn't a "twig". Yeesh.
Okay, so...oh! Krissy, I forgot to mention, is excellent, and I've watched a couple of her videos. I think she should totally be added to the site, but not as the Nostalgia Chick...That Girl With the Goggles should STAY That Girl With the Goggles. She's not quite Wolverine, but she's at least good at what she does, and she should continue to do it, but get paid!
Anyway, Kalyyn. Kaylyn's video was funny and entertaining to watch, despite the fact that I have testicles. The others, aside from Krissy, failed to produce a review worth menti-...oh. Well, okay. Lindsay could have been funnier, if she had done a bit of fact checking and hadn't seemed so lackadaisical about the whole thing. She was funny enough, sure, but there were a couple of glaring errors that sort of threw me off. But sarcasm? Baby, she's got it.
Anyway, my vote's for Kayelyn.

Lindsay: Nice material, plus when I pointed out a joke she missed she quickly answered back with a good justification for leaving it out.
Krissy: Like her enthusiasm, but despite the excitement her material is lacking. She basically just lists stuff about Sailor Moon point by point rather than trying to be funny with it outside the costume.
Kaylyn: My pick to win, since she's pretty close to Doug both in attitude and jokes (the Red Bull bit, while a little obvious, was very well played) plus she shows that she can go a long time with good material.
Lauren: Kind of the opposite problem of Krissy: good material but her delivery is way too dry.
Drew: Like someone else said, way too much simply showing us clips without any commentary.
So in the end it came down to Lindsay and Kaylyn, but I ended up picking Kaylyn for her (slightly) more engaging personality

This is the last time I'm going to say t his. I wasn't doing a STRIPTEASE. If you are familiar with the original Sailor Moon you'll know that the Sailor Senshi are NAKED when they transform. I was simply poking fun at that and nothing more. If you think it wasn't innocent, then that's on you. Because for me it WAS COMPLETELY innocent. OY! And I'm done with that!

I think that Lindsay has the best video quality, which is definitely important if we're going to be watching a lot of her videos--and her intelligent/quirky way of going about the review was a plus.
Krissy was funny (i thought), and had the best sense of the theatrical. I also happen to like goggles.
Still, I would pick Lauren for a couple reasons. 1) Her reviews (both of them, one not on this site) are the most original. She's obviously done her research and dug up things that many of us have COMPLETELY forgotten about. Not like pocahontas, which we all remember, or sailor moon or the last unicorn. All of those are insanely popular and everyone remembers them pretty well. Granted, everyone remembers Strawberry Shortcake, but how about the yum-yums? Lauren gets my vote for her originality, and for the stabbity death segment.
I think we can expect the most thoughtful and unusual segments from her.
Nothing against the two of them, but I didn't care for Kaylyn or Drew's.

Yes, I signed up here purely to get in my vote. Anyway, here we go...
Lindsay: Pretty good. A very professional-looking video, with a nice line in snarky humour (plus a nice pick of suitably dopey material). If anything, though, I don't think she went far enough into her research, and there was too much reliance on sexual humour for my liking. A valiant effort, but stumbled at the last hurdle.
Krissy: Now this lass was absolutely lovely to watch on-screen; it's clear she's got a lot of enthusiasm and enjoys her work, and it was nice that she seemed to be trying her own thing with the show. After the nice "transformation sequence" spoof though, I felt it went downhill; I thought she seemed a bit too reliant on her own silliness as opposed to picking at the source material. I'd certainly like to see more of her work, but not as the Nostalgia Chick.
Kaylyn: My pick to win. I liked this video a lot; it was informative, well-researched, and most importantly it was funny as hell with real wittiness to it. It's funny how she bemoaned the fact it was long, but it didn't feel long because it was so well put-together. It was clear that she put a lot of thought and effort into this, and the result was a lot of fun to watch.
Lauren: Well, I like how she tried for something a bit more obscure; dredging up more obscure material is always good for a nostalgic reviewer, and she was pretty funny too. However, I felt the video dragged on too long; maybe it's just me, but it felt a lot longer than it actually was. Also, I found the fact that she was off-centre and we saw most of her room very distracting. With a bit of polish and fine-tuning, it would've been a much stronger contender.
Drew: She has a good go, but I think doing The Last Unicorn as well kind of damaged her chances. Also, it seemed more like a summary of the film rather than a critical review. Plus the pacing was very awkward; it was talk, watch film, talk, watch film, and so on, and it just didn't seem to flow that well at all. We want to see a review of the film, not the whole film itself!
All-in-all, some good efforts there, but again Kaylyn gets my vote. Well done to all of you for getting to the finals, though!

Well, since this seems to be the place to spout off ones opinions for the time being, I'll do so. Firstly I'd like to thank all entrants for taking their time and offering up their work, and my congratulations to the finalists. I don't mean any of the following comments to offend, but this is a competition, and competitions have winners.
Now, I must preface that I've never seen any of these movies or shows - not even the decidedly less chick-ish Pocahontas. When the view hasn't seen the show, the reviewer is their only "in", which makes character the most important bit. Since I have no personal connection to the story, the more engaging and entertaining the reviewer, the more likely I am to watch and trust their opinion. It doesn't make factual sense, but humans have never really been factual creatures.
As I see it, a review doesn't have to be the most thoroughly researched or cover every plot point to be a good "Critic style" review, it just has to be funny, tell the basic story, mock it if it's bad, or praise it if it's good. So, keeping in mind how I judged these reviews, here are my opinions.
Lindsay: The best review by a fair sight. The format felt very familiar - quite Critic-esque - and the character was both engaging and informative. The jokes were well written, well paced, and well executed, and found me audibly laughing at most of them.
I loved the way she played off the video - using the previous clip to set up a joke in her next line, or making a comment/question to set up and having the next clip deliver the necessary punchline. It's my favorite aspect of the Critic's style, and it's executed brilliantly here. "Where's my daughter" - I lol'd.
Krissy: An fun review, and I wouldn't mind seeing more reviews from her, but her personality strikes me as a bit too bubbly to fit as the female version of the Nostalgia Critic.
I don't really have too much to say about this one. I enjoyed it, just not as the future Nostalgia Chick. I do hope she plans to continue her "Games I grew up on" series though, because she's a good reviewer.
Oh, and the "Life. Get one." ending was perfect.

Kaylyn: Informative, but never really all that funny - at times the review comes across more like an essay yelled into a camera. Some things that the character ranted about didn't seem to be worth getting angry over, such as the "Have a taco" line. It's weird, yeah, but incredulity would have been a more fitting reaction than a tirade.
With her and Drew having reviewed the same show, we get two starkly contrasted takes on this section. Drew's effort works because she lumped the entire "slit his wizard" through "hussy" events into one giant amalgam of weird. With the more play-by-play style of Kaylyn's review, the events on their own just aren't large enough to support a joke.
Lauren: Eh, I'm kinda torn here. I've watched both of her submissions, and I was hoping the Jem vs. Barbie review would be the one posted here, primarily because I didn't really care for this submission.
Some of the jokes go on far beyond the "funny" point, like the Gummi Bears whiny voice at the beginning. Further, some items in the list get no real commentary - it's just "Look, it's weird!"
Lastly, the organization of the list doesn't really make sense. The whole list builds up with weirder and weirder things, then number 3 comes along and makes sense, then number 2 is back to the mildly weird, and number 1 rocked but was weird. The list seems to be building up to the weirdest of the weird, but it takes a turn for the sensible at the end, completely eschewing expectations, which ended as rather disappointing.
Conversely, the Jem vs. Barbie review was actually quite good, with humorous commentary on the shows and a decent smattering of information as to how the shows came about and why they were awesome or not. Also, the way she ended part one was brilliant.
I know there will be high points and low points for every reviewer - I don't laugh at every one of the Critic's gags - but this Top 9 list simply wasn't enjoyable for me.
Drew: Great commentary, but sloppy editing which detracts from the experience somewhat. Jump cuts in mid-thought is rather disorienting, and even more so when the picture changes only slightly. In reviews such as this, most on-camera appearances of the reviewer are done in one take - the clips intercut with the on-camera time can serve as scene breaks, so the entire thing doesn't have to be all one take - but that consistency is lacking here.
The one-liner quips in this one are sparse, but hilarious. "Global warming", "Casually... Oh so casually", "That the bull gives you wings" - that a Red Bull reference would pop up was blatantly obvious, but handled well. All of these are excellently delivered, they're just few in number.
The main problem I have with this one is the format - is very static. There's a comment about what we're about to be shown, then we're shown it, then there's a comment about the next thing we'll be shown, and so on. This works for the section which covers the "slit his wizard" through "hussy" section I mentioned earlier because it's large enough to have to be taken in alone, but it gets repetitive and predictable when used for the single scenes.

With the Critic, I usually end up watching his reviews multiple times, and I can go back to just about any one of them right now and still get a good laugh. Of all the reviews here, the ones from Lindsay and Drew are the two which I would go back and watch again just for kicks - in fact I have.
From the standpoint of character, apparent video composition experience, and overall humor, Lindsay gets my vote.
Again, I don't mean any of those comments up there to offend, and I apologize for taking up so much space - Methinks I just like to type...

I say we should keep them all because we do need some people to fit in the time between That Guy with the Glasses and That Dude in the Suede's and Benzai's videos, but I especially liked Lindsay. Puppies!
One could make a video on Mondays, one on Tuesdays, one on Wednesdays, etc, so we have something new every day, like Screwattack promises.

I had thought about submitting a correction to my original comment simply because of the misspellings of Kaylyn (Katlyn, Kayelyn), but decided not to since I realized most of my reasoning went unsupported and I felt too lazy to go back and watch the videos a second time. All of that, and I somehow managed to throw in return-key paragraphs in a haphazard sort of way, and the whole thing seemed a little more disjointed than brilliant. Then I glanced down the comments that followed mine, saw AnotherGirl's response to my comment...I ended up balking at this and chuckling to myself and to my girlfriend, who was beating the pants off me at WiiSports Everything at the time. She wanted an explanation, and I explained...and something happened. My explanation felt less humorous, harder than ever to define, and I knew after she had read my comment, that everything I thought was clever was probably just insulting, pompous, and, oh, god, I am a whipped little puppy. I am. I really am. I just realized this. I refuse to apologize for saying what I thought, since my thoughts are the only thing I can thunk and I ain't not gots to be no mores ashamed of that. Gnnn...hurtsss...
Buuut, as the brains dribble from my head, they do leave behind a certain amount of...guilt.
I apologize, Lauren. Menstrual was kind of a crude word. Kind of a big insult. Words are harsher in a world without facial expressions or gestures. I kind of do feel bad about that. After all, I can barely set up a webcam, and I've never once tried to edit together a video...that being said, this whole voting thing requires a requisite amount of judgementalismnasmgology, and no matter, someone's gotta be top on the five-girl contest thing.
So, I vote Kaylyn, and Krissy, cuz she should be on the site even if she ain't the Nostalgia Chick. And that's really all I aught to have said, maybe.

Your explanation was necessary, and appreciated by myself at least. You can apologize for some things you said, but don't just leave it at "I vote soandso". I feel I should bring this up as well, for me, Pocahontas isn't very nostalgic yet for me. Disney movies in general don't ever feel nostalgic. Some of the Disney cartoons are, but the movies not so much, because the characters are constantly being shoved down my throat by Disney themselves. I liked all the other contestant's material because it was old, but not as popular as Disney is. True, she would be doing other material if she becomes the Nostalgia Chick, but because she chose to review for a nostalgia contest, something not nostalgic to me, makes me feel she doesn't know the audience or the material as well as she should.

In the call out for the Nostalgia Chick contest, NC clearly states that he can't review these girly shows because "[he has] testicles." In the recent Ask That Guy, he details how he'd go back in time and make love to himself. The Space Jam review asks if the Disney execs have ever wanted to f*** bunnies. Chester talks about how Speed Racer dresses up like a sperm.
Et cetera. This site is no stranger to the F-bomb, nor to mild sexual references.
Is it that you have a problem with Lindsay's review because her shirt is cut too low? That's your decision to be offended, I suppose, but you have no right to accuse everyone of voting for "teh boob13s!" just because they like a different reviewer than you. I had a part in picking the finalists as did Doug, Bhargov and Mike. All five of them stand up and I'm glad they made it. So best of luck.
That said, I'm seeing this comment again and again and I have to admit I'm confused. So here it is...
What is the deal with Lindsay being sex obsessed? Maybe it's because I'm a contributor to the Nostalgia Critic, so I'm either too jaded or too close to the material, but there's nothing in her review that Doug hasn't done even dirtier. Sorry, but I've gone over her review in my mind a number of times, and I don't get it. Nothing stuck out as particularly, "Oh my GOD! She's sex mad! Dirty dirty dirty filthy slap a Scarlett Letter A on her and vote her out whore!"
Is the "I'll Poke your Hontas" bit a GREAT line? Is it natural? Is it delivered well? For my tastes, NO. But it's not like all of the sexual jokes and innuendos Doug and I have come up with are ALL gems. There's plenty of things in NC that have made me roll my eyes when I looked back on them.
Is it her shirt? The fact that she has (GASP!) cleavage? Whoopity do. I can walk past the high school down the street and see worse on today's teenagers. Hell, I can walk into a Hooters and see worse (lord knows I could use a good plate of Buffalo Wings). So it doesn't strike me as "scandalous!"
Maybe if she came out in a leather bikini, clasping a whip, and unleashing a string of profanities that would make Richard Pryor cry -- maybe THEN I'd see it. But the woman's running gag was PUPPIES for crying out loud. So there's my two cents on that.
Anyway, that's it. You're all good and I'm sure whoever wins will make a fine addition to the team! Good luck.
First time poster, long time watcher of this site. I kind of like Linsay's entry the best. Only because she seems to have a lot more energy in the review. She reacts well enough and though the other ladies have their good qualities, she seems to jazz things up a bit.

I understand that Doug does do dirty jokes a lot. But that's not what I want in a Nostalgia "Chick". I can walk past a high school and see worse, but I see it too often. Sex sells, it really does, and that's not how I want the videos to be sold.
I feel I should clarify something. I want humor, I want a clean approach that does not rely on toilet humor, sex, or cursing to be funny. That's what I want, and Kaylyn provided that.

I did not want this to become a contest of looks, but every single woman who applied, with the exception of Kaylyn and Lauren, referred to their boobs in one way or another, Lindsay with her shirt, Krissy with her shirt, and Dawn by blatantly stating it, which isn't as bad as the shirts, so I can't blame her, but her video was not assembled well enough for me. Kaylyn only referenced her coloured hair, and her jumpsuit. Lauren also barely referenced herself. I wanted a contest of skill, and I will stand by that desire. I'm not picking fights, you're choosing to have them picked. I'm not accusing anyone of voting for "teh boob13s!", I want to know the reasons people vote for who they do. I am genuinely interested. You are correct in that this site is home to all the material on these videos, no exceptions, I am merely stating that I prefer Kaylyn's more wholesome approach to her application submission. To me, she appears to be the most well researched, and well written. I mean no offense to anyone, if you take offense, then I apologize.
What's so ironic is that sexism never seemed to be a problem until your posts. Perhaps I'm missing the massive amounts of men saying "Lindsey has bigger boobs so I vote for her narf" but it seems most people here have been judging by their comedy opinions. You have all the reasons to point out that these women supposedly seemed forced and use profanity poorly, but I've seen no evidence of that. All of these videos are well edited and scripted, so none of them feel forced. Any other complaints about swearing are misinterpreted, or misunderstood. All of these ladies are very talented, so I fail to see your logic on their dresscode.
As a good friend of Krissy, I take offense to your suggestion that she's using her sex appeal. I could care less if you dislike her humor, but to misunderstand her humor as flirting or whoring herself out to votes is simply ridiculous. Yes, in a manner she is using her sexuality to create humor, but it's not in a risque way, which you are clearly interpreting this as. It's just a joke on how the Sailor Scouts always removed their clothing to transform, and in a live action setting it would probably seem a lot like that. So she's on topic and witty? Sounds like a modern day Youtube prostitute yes?
Further more, this comment honestly seems very distasteful and quite sexist:

So women can't swear? What manner of conformity is that? What would the point be if each woman was like Suede and avoided swearing? The contest stated "The character can be anything you wish" so if Krissy decides to do something that maybe some over zealous religious parent wouldn't want their 6 year old watching (who shouldn't be on this site anyway) what's the problem? Is her character, and nothing in her video struck me as anything I would make R-Rated. We see no nudity, there's more profanity in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and it's her own character. Perhaps not all of these talented ladies want to wear burkas over their bodies and speak like their Mary Poppins. That's the character Doug let them decide upon for themselves.
So in summary:
- Nothing here has been something that would warrant a Rated-R rating at a theater. Perhaps MA on television, but that amounts to little more than nothing. An episode of South Park is much more detrimental to our youth. - People here have been stating why they like contestants. I like Krissy because her humor isn't forced down my throat, and I love her facial expressions. In addition I enjoy Lindsay because of her intelligent wit. Their styles are quite different, and the only relation that seems to occur is the fact they have breasts. I can't really condemn for that. They are females after all. - If you don't like any competitor, then so be it. We won't sway your opinion, but none of these ladies whored themselves out. They're all funny, and present their own unique style.
If any of this seems out of place or rude, I apologize, but I do not enjoy acts of slander against my friends. I find no sexism here, except from your own posts.

As to profanity: Girls can swear just as much as the boys do. And some do. None of the swearing - in and of itself - felt forced to me in any of these reviews.
Regarding clothing: I will state again, I did not pick Lindsay because of physical appearance, but because of her review. I'm guessing most others did as well. This isn't a contest of looks - they all look good - it is still a contest of skill and awesome.
I'd also like to point out the duality of your response, as you say:

Then:

The only time in which I felt any of the content was forced was when Lindsay referred to Disney inserting its magical giant yeah yeah that line. Tense arm movements, not looking into the camera - she seemed uncomfortable saying it, and yeah, I felt kinda uncomfortable watching it. But I could be wrong, and that one brief moment of "eh" doesn't detract enough from the review as a whole to jade my opinion.
The reason Doug can pull off all his overt lewdness without breaking a sweat is because he is a monster with no conscience.

I juste suscribed just to give my opinion on this
Lindsay: I really like her style and personality. I feel that the video started ok and got better. She needs a bit of work but I think she has great potential. Like her voice too.
Krissy: Good energy, the content was poor tho and the video focused a bit too much on her. I didn't like her style much but that's just me. It was a alright video I guess.
Kaylyn: Good video altough it felt forced a little bit at times. Her personality is good but the style is a bit too much like other reviewers out there.
Lauren: I don't like her personality at all. I could not even get pass 2 min in the video. Very dry. I had no fun watching her video.
Drew: It was ok. She was not very entertaining for me I don't know why. She seem to have a good personality. I feel potential, I would like to see another video but oh well.
