The alone in the dark review was made months ago. He's already speaking well.
-
10.12.2009 - 08:07 | Opera Guy
Just be a little careful with Congo.
The book was written by Micheal Crichton. He died not to long ago.
-
10.01.2009 - 14:14 | Hewylewis - WAHOO!!!!
Finally!! My dream of a crossover with Linkara come true!! Plus one of my favorite Ernest films is gonna be reviewed!! I hope he doesn't tear it apart too much! And the biggest piece of crap ever, the Star Wars Holiday special. The only thing good that came out of that was the introduction of Boba Fett.
-
10.01.2009 - 23:34 | JackBrimstone
lets not forget how high Carrie Fisher was on cocaine while appearing on that special. lol
But superman IV was as scientificlly inaccurate as Armageddon (corse it would be interesting to find out what happened to the chick after NC drugged her, it may lead to a even more ackward moment than spooning with spoony.) But it is fun to point out the flaws in the movie. plus for a bonus, replace every bit of audio in the nuclear man scenes with 80's hair metal.
-
10.03.2009 - 19:30 | TheEvilYoshiKiller - Crossover with linkara
You watched alone in the dark yet? It has Linkara AND Spoony.
-
10.01.2009 - 14:26 | Darksideofthezeppelin

10.01.2009 - 14:38 | darkmindedsith
YES! I remember requesting Jack Frost recently. When I looked into that movie, I knew it HAD to be done. I also thought the SW Holiday Special would be a great choice too. I can't wait for these!
I'm surprised to see no Top 11s on this list. But nonetheless, these look like some great choices. Can't wait!

I'm pretty sure the next Chrismas specials are a top 11 list...or top 12 BECAUSE IT'S CHRISMAS!!!

10.01.2009 - 14:57 | gambit508
Casper HELL YEAH! Linkara team up HELL YEAH! Siskel and Ebert trubute HELL YEAH! Star Wars Holiday special OH HELL YEAH!
-
10.01.2009 - 14:59 | Cferra
Cool list! Seems there's a lot of Comic based movies this time out. Can't wait to see these!
-
10.01.2009 - 15:08 | joro550 - No please don't :'(
12/1 - Jack Frost
This was one of the few I LOVED as a child, this movie almost had me crying (When it came out, I was.... young).
-
10.02.2009 - 07:52 | jkthedj - I Guess this explains the site shutting down...
I guess Everyone wanted to flock around and see what new offerings you have in store for us...Anyway, time for that Obnoxious thing we fanboys do, and give our Pre-Critic Criticisms...
10/13 - Next Karate Kid--Hilary Swank before she became pretentious Oscar bait.
10/20 - Casper--I legitimately liked this movie as a youth, but only find it cheesy (but not terrible) today.
10/27 - Superman IV with Linkara--The only good thing that can come from this movie is the fact that co-star Jon Cryer won an Emmy award over 20 years later...for an equally crappy TV show ("Mennnnnnnnnnn"
.11/3 - Congo--"That's A Gorilla. NO! That's a Guy in a Suit!" (Freakazoid fans will get that)
11/10 - A Tribute to Siskel and Ebert--What else can I say but "Two Thumbs Up!"
11/17 - Judge Dredd--This is probably going to be the best review of the bunch because we'll get to hear NC's Stallone impression a lot. Which I adore!
11/24 - Tank Girl--Heard about it, but haven't seen yet on the many HBO Multi channels.
12/1 - Jack Frost--Movie-Brat says It IS the Keaton movie...though now I'm curious about the Horror flick.
12/8 - He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special--I'm calling it now, NChick will be involved in this somehow, right?
12/15 - Next Best Christmas Specials--Not that I didn't like your last list of 'em, but they really seemed to be more Movie-centric than TV (which really fits the "Special" mold more appropriately)
12/22 - Star Wars Holiday Special--KILL IT! KILL IT HARD! Rip it to Shreads!
12/29 - Ernest Saves Christmas--One of (If not THE) Best of the "Ernest" Movies...and that's saying a lot.
And now, I'm going to do 5 requests this time around. Please note that I WILL NOT be requesting "Cats Don't Dance", because after (what seems like) 18 Squadrillion times, I won't waste any breath. Instead, I waste my breath on this...1. "The Brave Little Toaster" (The ultimate "You Know, For Kids!" movie)
2. "Hudson Hawk"
3. "Freddie The Frog"
4. "Small Wonder"
5. Old V. New: "King Kong"That's it, and I look forward to it all.
-
10.01.2009 - 21:06 | trigger12
yes, there are others whoi will do cats dont dance.
and, one thing i think should happen, is doug going about previous decade, i mean.....its almost 2010!
-
10.01.2009 - 23:37 | JackBrimstone
leave Hudson Hawk Alone. that was David Caruso's BEST Acting Role.
-
10.04.2009 - 16:18 | Bogue2kw - King Kong
Totally agree with Old vs. New: King Kong!
I never saw the original, but the recent version, I did, and I loved it!
-
10.01.2009 - 15:20 | ThatMetalheadWithTheGlasses

Doug and Lewis working together on a review?

"Casper" I'm kind of indifferent to because while not rock-bottom film, the film's tone is all over the place.
"Superman IV" With Linkara: CAN'T WAIT.
"Congo": Saw it, couldn't really remember a damn thing about it.
Siskel and Ebert: Very interesting to see especially considering your other positive tributes.
"Judge Dredd": All I can say is the filmmakers "BETRAYED THE LAW!"
"Jack Frost": I'm guessing Keaton because I think that would be the more psychologically damaging.
"He-Man/She-Ra": This would be ideal for another cross-over w/ Nostalgia Chick review wouldn't it?
"The Star Wars Holiday Special" is only watchable with Rifftrax, IMO.
"Ernest Saves Christmas": Remember liking it at the time but I don't quite think I'd have the same reaction now.
-
10.01.2009 - 15:36 | Dr Dib - Siskel and Ebert?
Weird that you are doing a Siskel and Ebert Tribute on the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street. Though I guess they did appear in a few guest spots together in the show...
Nevertheless, I find it interesting that I've actually seen a few of these movies this time around.
-
10.01.2009 - 15:46 | TheGirlWithTheFedora
Another joint review with Linkara?! YES!

Wow, what a great list! I'm looking forward to the Casper review. I actually liked that movie as a kid, but fifteen years and two ghost sightings later, I can't wait for him to rip into this one. (Friendly Ghost? BS!)
The Siskel and Ebert tribute should be great. I'm looking forward to that one, too!
Can't wait!

-
10.01.2009 - 15:46 | cjvs1604
Can't wait for: Superman 4 (about FUCKING time), Judge Dredd (err-rerr-err), and Star Wars X-Mas (almost TOO easy)
I'm surprised you didn't pick any Halloween themed movie for 10/27, but Superman 4 is scary enough I guess.
-
10.01.2009 - 15:52 | bluenowait
10/13 - Next Karate Kid: Hilary Swank's example of old shame.
10/20 - Casper: Why not review Spirited Beginning, bone bag?!
10/27 - Superman IV with Linkara: Finally, at last! To me, I thought Kal-el talking to the U.N. was the dumbest moment.
11/3 - Congo: Well, it's a good thing you remember it, so I don't have to; because I CAN'T!
11/10 - A Tribute to Siskel and Ebert: Who else to pay tribute to 2 legendary Chicagoan Critics, than a Chicagoan Critic?
P.S. They gave Space Jam two thumbs up!
11/17-11/24 - Judge Dredd & Tank Girl: A crappy comic movie double header!
12/1 - Jack Frost: Necromancing Harmonicas? You Bet!
12/8 - He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special: *headkeyboard*
12/15 - Next Best Christmas Specials: I think I'm starting to sense a pattern.
12/22 - Star Wars Holiday Special: HOLY FUCK! YES! YES! YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
12/29 - Ernest Saves Christmas: Hey Doug, roast that chestnut good, knowwhatImean?
-
10.22.2009 - 20:58 | Crazy56U
10/13 - Huh... I... THINK I've heard of it.
10/20 - ...why?
10/27 - FUCK YES!!!
11/3 - Um.... Uh...
11/10 - Sweet, they deserve one!
11/17 - Dear God! YOU'LL BETRAY THE LAW! ...sorry.
11/24 - Maybe we'll see what this movie's problem is.December: ...is it me, or are you doing a Christmas theme this year?
12/1 - Again... why?
12/8 - Oh boy, it's Round 2 for Gay-Man, Master of the universe... and its spin off.
12/15 - Huh?!?
12/22 - FREAKING. SAW. IT. COMING.
12/29 - Huh. A (bad?) Ernest film this time.Suggestions:
-Top 11 Childhood WTFs (A list of the darkest turns and fucked up moments of childhood media)
-The Incredible Shrinking Woman (crappy plot + bad blue screen shots + MORE robotic gorillas + this getting ripped a new one = FUN!)
-the Inspector Gadget movie (...you know you want to.)
-Toxic Avenger 1 - 4 (HE LOOKS LIKE A FREAKING TURD.)
-Project ALF (for the hell of it)
-Stay Tuned (Devil TV, much?)
-Plan 9 from Outer Space (You REALLY want too.)
-The Strangeness (Again, for the hell of it.)
-
10.01.2009 - 16:46 | Sonocle Ujedex
+1 for the Inspector Gadget movie. I can't believe there was a sequel too.
As i citizen of France, i demand to the NC to destroy this movie forever ("L'inspecteur Gadget" is animated national treasure in our country, ya know).
-
10.05.2009 - 20:27 | 0dd1
Prob'ly not, but I'd love to see him focus a month for classic Disney Channel or Cartoon Network.

Here's my thoughts:
10/13 - Next Karate Kid: I am not sure about it. It sounded like it was a bad movie.
10/20 - Casper: Saw it as a kid and I have to admit, it was an alright flick. Not good, but not bad either. It is more of a giluty pleasure. It also seems like it was a good film as well.
10/27 - Superman IV with Linkara: Oh boy, you are in for some trouble with this film.
11/3 - Congo: I heard it was an adaption of Michael Critcion's story and that it wasn't too good, so this should be interesting.
11/10 - A Tribute to Siskel and Ebert: Hmm... this should be interesting.
11/17 - Judge Dredd: You are heading for disaster, run away!
11/24 - Tank Girl: Never seen the film or read the comic, so I have no opinion on this film.
12/1 - Jack Frost: I am a little confused here, are we talking about the killer snowman or the dad who turns into a snowman movie?
12/8 - He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special: Never seen it or even watch any of the cartoons, so I have no opinion on this.
12/15 - Next Best Christmas Specials: Is this another Top 12 list?
12/22 - Star Wars Holiday Special: Dear Lord! Nostalgia Critic, you have survived the Garbage Pail Kids and even Howard the Duck, but don't you think this is a bit dangerous?
12/29 - Ernest Saves Christmas: I was thinking you should see an Ernest movie sooner or later since their seem to be lots of them. You got a good line up here and I am very interested in what is to come. For suggestions, why don't you take a look at:
Atlantis: The Lost Empire: Good and bad Disney film that deserves an once over
Jaws 4: It must be viciously reviewed and destroyed
Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer: If you review it, prepare to be driven mad.
Troll in Central Park: It's a 90s Don Bluth movie. Enough said.
-
10.18.2009 - 14:58 | varelabro1
atlantis is not nostalgic, ask mathew buck from bad movie beatdown
rainbow brite seems more like the nostalgia chick's department
-
10.01.2009 - 16:44 | LordDarkrai
Star Wars Holiday Special YES, thank you, now you can tear apart that godawful piece of crap.
-
10.01.2009 - 16:45 | shameonpretzel - Jack Frost! YEAH!
I'm really looking forward to the Jack Frost review!
But please be gentle on Casper...
-
10.01.2009 - 16:48 | KKmario_fan
I remember Jack Frost and Casper, the Jack frost was crap and Casper didn't live up to expectations.
Tank girl was somewhat obvious b/c you mentioned it in "Steel" and "Warriors of Virtue" only a matter of time
-
10.01.2009 - 16:59 | TheDramaticMonarch
I can remember seeing bits and pieces of "Casper" and "Congo" but I'm definitely curious as to which "Jack Frost" you're doing (since apparently there's a "Jack Frost" movie that doesn't contain Micheal Keaton's spirit in the body of a snowman) but it looks like December is gonna be a doozy...a doozy I can't wait to see unfold!
