The only reason SC2 might end up sucking is because of Kotick, who split the game into three separate games so you need to pay full price for a third of a game three separate occasions. Also, he wants a bunch of in-game advertising on every loading screen and between matches. And to make the online mode work like Call of Duty.

Nice new rubric. Very deep and mature. I however do not agree that Microsoft should make its entertaiment division a seperate department, considering the uncertain future of their new products such as kinetic. Oh and about the Halo Edition of Xbox- it well sell, because there are a lot of obssessed fanboys out there , who are way pass the point of logic and reason

As far as motion control is concerned. as a disabled gamer with spastic arm movements i hope the trend does not catch on and become standard.
I don't own a PS3 mainly because i have tried playing and games which use the 6axis are unplayable because i cant keep my hands on a flat plane easily. Thankfully 6axis is not overly used these days. think it was really a gimmick which with some exceptions didn't catch on.

I always like to hear news about the video game world at large, so this was good for me. I would like to see more of these shown on the site.

Starcraft was one of the few games I grew up on so I'm definitely getting the sequel, what me and my friends decided to do was I'd get the first one, and then they'd get the other episodes once those come out and we'd just pass em' around when the other's done with them. I agree Blizzard was being a major dick about this, but I can see why, they have a massive fanbase and hyped the shit out of the game so they can pull this kinda' thing and still get tons of sales.

07.29.2010 - 13:34 | Mousse420I thought Blizzard backpedaled on the idea of selling Starcraft 2 as three $60 games? When they were saying they would do that they referred to all 3 as full games - now they're calling parts 2 and 3 "expansions", suggesting they're going back to the way they've always done it. I'm guessing they got a ton of backlash hate mail over the whole "three $60 games" idea.

08.30.2010 - 01:47 | ZakyrnThe reason SC2 is worth the money is the ums(use map setting)/custom maps.
You people who haven't played wc3 and sc1 will probably just know about DotA if even that, but really Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 1 today are thousands of game in one because of player made content.
Starcraft 2 haven't caught up yet, but there is a great asteroid/aos map out, less great beat'em up, less great bomberman, etc.
If you don't know about ums of wc3 and sc1 then you are simply not qualified to talk about the worth of sc2.
There are things very wrong with the game though.
I can only play with other europeans. I was chatting with an american friend and he wanted to play, but we couldn't because the game is region locked.
The layout of battle net is just bad.
I remembered the name of a guy I played with and I was going to send him a msg and ask him if he was up for another round.
In wc3/sc1 I could just type in the chatroom "/w name hi".
The problem is that there is no chatroom. I can select a person from my friend list and choose chat.
So I'd have to add him first and then choose chat, but to add him I need his account code, which he has to give me first.
You can add friends in another way, but then you have to be in the same game and be able to click their name. :P
Oh and about the campaign. The layout was okay gameplay wise with the upgrades and freedom of missions, but even on the hardest difficulty it was too easy imo. I didn't use my upgrades until the final mission and I'm not sure if I needed them even then.
I kind of liked some of the sub plots, but the main plot made me cringe too much.
It felt like a bad cliched hollywood movie.
I wanna point out this is like episode 6, not one.
EDIT: I guess I'll copy paste my comment on LK forums about this.
"If I understand correctly, the first SC2 part is 30 missions which is the same as all 3 parts of the original SC (10 levels each). I guess I haven't played a ton of RTSs but 20 hours for 1 play through of the single player campaign is pretty standard for me. Also as far as DRM is concerned I was told it would be similar to steam in that you have to "activate" the game once (if you don't buy it online) but after that you don't have to play online. They will be adding achievements, multiplayer and friends contacts, ect, to try and make you want to be online but it's not required.
That being said this is all hearsay until the game comes out and further information is available, but from what what I've Kotics "assyness" hasn't extended to the Blizzard side of acti/blizz yet."
