I KNEW you made it onto the site after that subtle hint in your One-Year video! :cheer: Congrats!
Anyway, in regard to applying science to fiction, I believe it all depends on the situation or what kind of story, much like what JO was saying. For example, if I read/watch a superhero story and they explain the origins of the hero, then that should be enough. There's a certain ammount of plausibility to that origin, though, otherwise it'd be totally stupid.
Also! For what Rollo T has to do to get his fanart privileges back, he has to either go to a Giants' game or to a party about watching a Giants' game and hold up a poster supporting the opposing team. Said act must also be caught on video. That evil enough? XD If football season is over (which it might be since I'm not a sports fan), have him admit to Joe that the Cowboys are better than the Giants and the Giants love Mexian Carwashes. Meh. T_T
Anyway, really glad you made it onto ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, JO! Here's hopin' the rest of the D2 Brigade making it on here too. I mean, hell. It'd be awesome if Pocky Spot and Desu Rattle were news updates/podcasts here!

02.28.2010 - 06:26 | Richard WeskerI agree with the TA guys and JO, as this is a point I've been harping on for months: make videos because it is your passion, not to become a producer on TGWTG. People seem to get this backwards, which is a shame. Great episode, and glad to see JO on the site. She really deserves it.

I'm still realing from Friday's Anime Night (STOP HUMMING!), but not enough to offer up another congratulations JO. There really is a need for more credible anime reviewers on the internet, and I'm glad TGWTG choose one of the talented best.
So obviously your reviews are still going to be released as normal on d2brigade, with new ones added to TGWTG. Does that mean they'll be released together on Wednesday, or will one premiere before another (schedule pertaining)?
And on the topic of Superheroes having only one power, I personally prefer the option of 2 or 3 to add intensity. The reason for limiting to only one is probably to solidify the iconic status amongst individual powers (ie Flash=speed, Hulk=strength, Mr. Fantastic=stretch), which does feel kind of short sighted in the long run. As long as its played out cleverly with no deus ex machina endings, multiple powers free up the creativity for infinite storylines and ideas.
Lastly (I promise), I really like this idea to premiere new producers on TA instead of adding videos with no formal introduction. JO's reviews are some of my favorites and I'd hate to see people pass them by just cause they don't know who she is.

02.28.2010 - 09:48 | BloodySharpieI have an idea to get Chris' privileges back:
He must NOT mention Lost or One Piece for the next ten episodes. If he does, he mush punch himself in the groin TWICE.
I am such a demented little girl.
As a random side note, am I strange for thinking the Linkara fanart was hilarious? Then again, I find cross dressing funny...

My reactions to everything, in order:
JesuOtaku's on the site! It's about time! What a great addition to the Channel Awesome family!
Thanks for making me THE Awesome Blog of the Week Joe (and Chris, and Paw). I agree that the first three years of Family Guy are excellent. Unoriginal, but excellent. It's too bad they gave up so quickly and turned it into an uber-liberal, unfunny, dirty piece of crap.
I agree with a comment above: if Chris wants his fanart privileges back, he has to refrain from fat jokes on Sean for at least two episodes.
Thanks again for AbotW, and congratulations to my favorite, newly featured anime reviewer!
(For the record, I reviewed Twilight, but I did it almost a year ago, amid all the movie hubbub. So I think I'm safe from bandwagon accusations.)

02.28.2010 - 13:03 | BloodySharpieYour challenge is too easy; make it fifteen episodes that he has to go saying no fat jokes.

Congrats JO! Love your vids.
As for the single super powers thing, though, doesn't that depend entirely on the context of the narrative? I think the people proposing it are those people who just can't let go of reality and who avoid Lord of the Rings because the existence of a Balrog is too unrealistic.
And I liked that Linkara art. I laughed.

Nice podcast this week guys, and congrats to Jesuotaku for making it on the site.
And for Chris' challenge...I have an idea. How about this: Tie an Eli Manning jersey to a post, douse it in kerosine, and shoot a flaming arrow into it. If he misses, keep shooting. And if that's too much, just make him go to Giant's stadium mid-season and scream "GIANTS SUCK! ELI'S A BITCH!!!"

02.28.2010 - 10:55 | jjramseyI looked at the article[/ url] that was supposedly about superheroes only having one power, but the whole "one power" thing was only in the title and one-line summary, and not in the article itself. It's a typical case where the article writer says one thing, while the editor--who is usually the one who comes up with the title and short blurbs at the top of an article--says something more provocative, probably for the sake of page views.
The article did say that "that every superhero and film should be allowed just one 'major willing suspension of disbelief,'" but "one major willing suspension of disbelief" isn't even close to equivalent to "one power." One can easily have a scenario where that one major break from reality has ripple effects that lead to multiple kinds of superpowers.
By the way, I had a feeling the guest was JesuOtaku. Glad to see I was right.
Does this mean another producer premiering on the site will be on next week's show? Will this be a regular thing from now on?
