Show notes:
00:00 - Opening
00:24 - Updates and plugs
06:18 - Movie Discussion Begins
07:22 - Justin(LP)'s take on the movie
41:32 - Dena's take on the movie
49:21 - Tony's take on the movie
Note: Sound quality is not the best, sorry. Skype recorder was acting up a bit and sometimes whenever more than one person was talking, the sound would cut out or get choppy during that time--tried to edit out those parts whenever they got too hard on the ears, but unfortunately some of our thoughts probably come across as a little disjointed at times.

This was great to listen to as a fan of the Silent Hill franchise. You guys made some good points about how this movie is good and how it's horrible. Since I'm attracted to anything Silent Hill I'll probably see it when it comes on On Demand so I'll only have to waste $5. But I doubt I'll enjoy it much. Dena and Justin sound like me when I Silent Hill fan rant. lol
Things I'll probably hate.
1) Vincent and Heather: Yes, even before Dena's shocking "Heather and Vincent are cousins" revelation ( Heh, revelation ) I was against their even being a good relationship between the two, but now I won't be able to watch this movie and see their forced romance without feeling doubly nautious.
2) Anything Pyramid Head: Even since the first movie I saw PH as only a glorified cameo cash grab and this movie is no exception. That and making him a protector is bull. PH is not a protector, he's Silent Hills punisher and executioner. Also, him replacing Valtiel as the passive-agressive background creeper is stupid as well.
3) Important characters being dumbed down and/or killed off way too early. Douglas, Claudia, Leonard, Vincent. Also a ton of extra uneeded people like the scene in the mall. Makers of these movies don't seem to get that what made Silent Hill creepy is you're ALONE...well for the most part.
4) Jump scares and pointless gore.
5) Harry lives.
Things I'll probaby like/enjoy.
1) Atmosphere and music.
2) Nods to other SH games (Even ones I don't like at all *coughs* Downpour, The Room ) and game to scene accuracy like the amusement park, the hospital, the burger joint ect.
3) Heathers actress.

Alessa was the girl who was burned alive by the cult people (in the movie). Heather/Sharon is what was left of her "pure" soul, and was dropped off at the foot of an orphan's home when she was a baby. Alessa, Dahlia's daughter, was the scarred and mangled woman fastened to the bed that rose up and killed everyone in the church with barbed wire in the first movie... So technically, Heather is Alessa's daughter. In reality she's a reincarnation, but technically, she's also Alessa's daughter... So ultimately Alessa is her own daughter. xD

Aah, you were going by movie plot, not the game plot. My bad. I automatically think of the game when it comes to these things lol. The movie just makes things so needlessly complicated. It hurts my brain. But in any case, second cousin or just cousin, daughter or not daughter the movies still pretty bad. XD

So, I'm kinda wondering now cause I guess I might have missed it in the movies (or took it wrong), is it completely accurate that the three of them (Dahlia, Christabella and Claudia) were blood related sisters, or were they talking about in the way that religious people use it?
Cause I always took it more as the latter, where everyone under that religion is a sister or brother to everyone else, not necessarily by blood (example: Pentecostals, specifically, call fellow Pentacostal women 'sister' and Pentacostal men 'brother').
So was there at some point that they directly mentioned that the three women were blood related?

I had considered that, but it wasn't the impression I got at the time.
If that is the case, they should have been a lot more careful about it--I'm pretty sure it's the only time either of them refers to anyone as their sister.
If I ever do a video on SHR, I'll try to pay closer attention and make sure I'm right about it.

Claudia didn't say "Sister Christabella;" she said "My sister, Christabella." I think they're blood-related.
Regarding Dahlia being blood-related to Christabella, I missed that part, as it may have been from the first movie, which I only saw in its entirety in theaters. I've caught parts later on TV, but they always happened to be the action parts, so I missed the introduction of Dahlia's relevance to the movie.

Dahlia and Christabella are not related, she just called her "Sister" as she was part of the cult where as Claudia states "My sister, Christabella" so they are actually related.
Also, the comic is Dead/Alive and Dying Inside w/ Christabella as the villain alongside her older sister, Lauryn.
Anyway, this movie... such bullshit. I was laughing and screaming in the theater. If it hadn't been at 10am, I am sure they would've kicked me out.

The argument there might be a little sketchy, as right after the scene where Alessa is attacked by Colin in the bathrooms, we see Christabella saying to Dahlia, "You're weak, my dear sister, you always were." Might be a bit rocky to argue that the term "sister" is meant as a cult member title when used in this context. Also, it looks like the huge general consensus is that Christabella and Dahlia were meant to be sisters.

When I went in to see this movie, I had little to no expectations of it being any semblance of entertaining. I ended up being pleasantly surprised. When Leonard was first mentioned, I was awaiting to see a monster like the one in the game. Instead we get Malcolm McDowell. All I could think to myself when he's revealed was "Well played, movie... well played."
It'll probably be a fun drinking-game when it comes out on dvd. :3
ps: yaaay for Lotus Prince joining in :D
also I remember reading somewhere that originially Claudia's character was supposed to be named Cristabella but they changed it. It was then used in that god awful comic later on... and then in the first movie because ... CLEVER ... not really -_-...
sorry for spelling errors.
