I hear ya! I was hearing about the show in 2011, but I didn't watch it until recently. In preparation for the podcast, I at first thought I would stick only to shows released in both the US and Japan in 2012, but there just weren't enough dubs for me to talk about voice actors, so then I picked all anime released in the US in 2012 and finally watched Madoka Magica, and was all like OAO And then my brain exploded.

02.14.2013 - 08:03 | Fear MageI have to strongly disagree with you about Korra. You guys were expecting Avatar 2, and what you got was Avatar: The New Class, and that's the core of why you were disappointed. If you allowed it to be a different type of story, it was actually pretty good. All the episodes were very tightly written, having their own complete stories, while each added something to the overall plot. I do agree that to someone expecting Avatar 2 the classwar between Benders and non-Benders does seem odd, but once you realize that this is The New Class, it makes sense. The old Team Avatar didn't setup the classwar on purpose, it's something that happened naturally, and frankly I think it's a brilliant bit of storytelling. When the majority of people in power are Benders, it would make sense that the non-Benders feel under represented. Then when they do something about it, like demonstrate, it's understandably seen as a rebellion, which is quashed, which only creates more ill-will from non-Benders. In my opinion, this was one of the best parts of the season, where you didn't know which side to root for, because they both had very valid points.
That said, I will agree the love triangle did feel a little tacked on.
I personally disliked Accel World, annoying whiny characters that we're supposed to root for. I just didn't care, it's was just a video game, so why the drama. Though I only saw 12 episodes before dropping it.
