WHAT ?! no one stayed after in the theater for Pirates 4 ? ALL the Pirates movies have something at the end. For this one its the scene where Angelica's sitting on the beach and the voodoo doll of Jack washes ashore and she smiles as she picks it up ~
And I thought 4 was kinda meh, not as good as 1-3 altogether as a trilogy, but lets hope 5 would be epic and at least give us a freaking ship battle that we totally didn't have in 4 =_+

09.05.2011 - 15:42 | RanagastDBGonzo, I'm surprised you brought up Chrono Trigger Resurrection, when there's actually a more recent, more infamous example. Look up Crimson Echoes. A group of Chrono Trigger fans spent years making a fully fleshed-out direct sequel to it, with a metric ton of original sprite art, locations, characters, and music, and Square waited until three weeks before the game's official release to send them a cease and desist letter and force them to delete everything. So while Resurrection seemed awesome, at least that was a straight remake of their game, so they were justified. Their treatment of Crimson Echoes...was just a dick move.

Also Lovecraft is another example of someone who supported people using elements of his stories in their own works, largely to add verisimilitude to things like the Great Old Ones and The Necronomicon, which, considering that many people are convinced the Necronomicon is a real book, worked pretty well
