First off, thanks for both answering my question and also for pronouncing my name right as well. XD Not a lot of people do.
As for the discussion part, I think this actually is the best discussion you guys have had since the violence in the media one. I more or less agree with pretty much all you talked about. I particularly liked the part Gonzo brought up about people with the mindset of "defending" themselves from the industry, particularly in the videogame industry.
Anyways, looking forward to the year in review next time and happy holidays!

Cool and actualy i had planed to ask something like that to the rest of you but it looks like you beat me to it. LOL
As for the on main topic i do like the online stuff link Jtv & Youtube.
But i prefer to have a physical copy such as a DVD(and VHS) for films & anime, discs(or cartridges) in the case of games And of course books for manga & comics.
Mostly because i'm a packrat but also i don't fully trust that the net will always be there all the time. i meen you've got power outages, viruses, crashing and who knows what els that would take out computers as well as the web.

01.13.2011 - 14:50 | icelatorI'm not defending piracy but I've gone to network websites and watched shows online where the quality is just garbage and then gone to other sites that aren't legal and the quality of video is ten times better. You say vote with your dollar well I did, the other guy is giving a better product than you are, I want to do it legally but I'm not being given a good option, I wanted to watch Canada's worst handyman but it was so pixelated and the video was stuttering I gave up and watched it elsewhere, like it or not you are competing with the pirates and offering inferior product is going to hurt you.
On top of that if I buy something now I'm stuck with it, even if I match the requirements exactly and my computer is in perfect working order there are still plenty of times that the game won't run, sometimes by design (some games won't run if you have certain programs installed) and I'm out whatever money I spent on it, same thing if the game turns out to be crap.
Then there's the case of Scanlations, quite frankly they are what I want, I want a translation not a censored translation with horrible voice actors that makes me want to jam a fork in my ear.
In regards to the attitude of people about the expense of importing dvds, I understand there are extra costs and this will drive up the price, but if I've never seen the show then how am I supposed to know if I'm going to like it without spending that money.
