07.06.2010 - 02:42 | Angrygamersoldier2010I have to agree with the fact Meet the Spartans was horrible. I was watching it in my room a bit after it came out on dvd. I watched up until the part were paris hilton was the hunchback guy. I turned it off. This wasn't funny. It was trying way to hard to parody action films and pop culture. I feel a great sense of pity for anyone who found that movie even the slightest bit entertaining.
As for abridged series, I LOVE EM! i watch probably a bout a dozen or so. You guys should check out HBI2K. He works on DBZ abridged and has a few hilarious series of his own. My favorite joke of his is when he was using BAGEL to censor the sex scenes in one of his gantz abridged episodes. I nearly feel out of my chair I laughed so hard.

07.06.2010 - 04:26 | DoctriniusHorror books are definitely good too; I'm a Lovecraft fan personally. You've got a point, Gonzo, your own imagination can be one of the scariest things imaginable. I suppose I just prefer games because all my most memorable experiences are from the fantastic Silent Hill franchise and nothing has ever replicated the haunting atmosphere it provided regardless of medium.
About "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream", perhaps you could ask Spoony about that, Gonzo? He reviewed that game as part of his Horror Game Classics around last Halloween.
Looking forward to the finale!

Precure = closest thing you get for New Sailormoon
Thinking of Anime based parodies, some studios write up scripts for there voice actors while they still have them on hand.
An example would be JC Staff parody production on Shana-tan, effectively grabbing all the corresponding voice actors for simple gag scenes.

One of my favorite anime parodies was Ouran High School Host Club. Hilarious stuff.
Films are a little harder since I love the classics.... Ironically, I have NOT watched Blazing Saddles and I only watched PART of Holy Grail. I fail. T_T
Hitchhiker's and Discworld? Hell yes.
No questions this week, I'm afraid. ^^; Also, did Cat die in that Stinger or did she Fission Mailed? XD

If I heard correctly, you reported an upcoming live-action Hobbit film? If so...
Yeeeeeaaaaaahhh!
However, I am concerned of how they're going to handle the trolls (as in the previous LOTR films, they haven't revealed trolls with the capacity to speak or conversate as the trolls in the Hobbit do), Beorn - I am repulsed by the picture of a computer-generated Beorn, treated as bears in the Golden Compass(crap) and Narnia(better, I suppose, but I prefer the BBC versions, frankly) films - and Smaug (for similar reasons as the trolls, that dragons in previous films have not proven as more sentient beings but merely as mindless, enslaved creatures). Generally, its just consistency issues that worry me. As for the songs, which seem to be more necessary in the Hobbit, I guess that it could work. For everything else, I am simply waiting to be served absolute cinematic delight as with the LOTR films and the animated version (yeah, I said it: the Rankin-Bass version is badass, especially Gandalf, and that is simple fact).
I was also dissapointed at no mention of Young Frankenstein especially when the opportunity for an I-gor reference arose... oh well.
I also recommend Hbi2k. Berserk abridged, man. I would say that Berserk abridged is the best abridged series but when you see DBZ and Yu-Gi-Oh! abridged, they're just too great to say they aren't the best. Nerd to the 3rd, although correctly stated, should be stated in the more preferable form of Nerd cubed (I am just using an obvious joke for the sake of being facetious).
Good bye and thanks for all the fish.
