I honestly tried to watch this last of the list of new videos, but I've grown highly addicted to nerd to the third. Also, smx, I'm pretty sure that TGWTG podcasts don't have iTunes feeds.
Gaawwwwd. Gonzo, I thought you knew better. I caught a bit of Brad Jone's video review of Human Centipede and the very THOUGHT of it made me sick to my stomach for a FULL DAY. You couldn't pay me enough to see that movie. With HC and Splice, it seems like horror movie makers are starting to confuse fucking gross for scary.
My thoughts on E3? The game showings were great, and I'm really eager to see the 3DS in action, but I couldn't care less about Microsoft and Sony's showings this year. It was all about movement. Sony isn't even hiding the fact that it's straight up gunning to ride on the Wii's popularity. Now, I admit the Wii is a juggernaut that appeals to gamers and non-gamers alike, but I can't STAND motion controls. I play games to sit down and relax and engage my brain, not my body. If I want that, I'll do actual exercise. Manic arm-flailing and dancing around in front of a camera appeals to me in absolutely no way.
I, sadly, need to thumbs down the musical selection for today. Still Alive is a great song. Well-written and catchy, not to mention hilarious, but any and all nerds have probably heard it right to death now. It needs some breathing room before Portal 2 drops, so it's welcome and fresh when we hear it, or better yet, a sequel version of it.
As a kid whose growing up life occurred entirely in the 90s (was born in '87), my fondest nostalgic memory is one that still brings a smile to my face today: Reboot. This was THE show that brought computer animation to the forefront. Easily the best show of my generation, and it made me beam with young Canadian pride, as it was made and debuted in the Great White North. This was before my sense of nationalism was disillusioned by the idea that borders cause conflict, but that's another discussion for another time. Back to Reboot, I also LOVED LOVED LOVED Beast Wars (Beasties up here in Canada) and Shadow Raiders (Which was called something else entirely in the US. Something Planets I think) which were produced by the same studio and shared a lot of the same voice actors. I do NOT, however, abide by Beast Machines. Robot wars is no place for weird-assed spiritual bullshit about getting in touch with your "spark." Speaking as a Bhuddist, I'm not offended, per se, but the idea of the characters meditating in order to change form...forms that are ultimately barely more useful than their regular forms, just bores the shit out of me.
I also fondly remember Rocko's Modern Life. I wasn't a big fan of Nickelodeon for the most part (although Canada's "kids network" YTV snapped up damn near every one of their franchises), but Rocko's Modern Life was so whacked out, so weird, and so fresh and different that even today, I enjoy it to grea...

Aww, so the LOST discussion was canceled? Oh, well.
I would think Liam Neeson would play a good Doctor Strange.
Skyward Sword, actually.
PORTAL. *squeals like a girl*
Cat, what old anime or manga would you like to see remade/be continued for today's audiences?
Travis, what do you think is up with all these films based on old children's cartoons? Underdog. Scooby-Doo. Alvin and the Chipmunks. And now the Smurfs! Is this Hollywood cashing in on previous popular series or what?
Gonzo...I shook hands with Hideo Kojima two weeks ago. ^_______^ Okay, for my ACTUAL question than a statement: What game franchises that are still going but you consider dead due to really bad games or whatever that could have ruined it?
For all three of you, what anime/manga/comic/movie/ game/whatever have you seen was so bad that it was absolutely hilarious? You know, like MST3K hilariously bad.

As a Supernatural fan, I'm hoping for the best. Fighting monster with guns. Impala. Good music. Yes.
And to answer that question that revolved around Rule 34: menage a trois. That is the only solution.
Oh gods of literature. They can't make Catcher in the Rye into a movie. They can't. No.
Dragonball Evolution raped my childhood.

God yeah I'm a way back fan of Cartoon Network, with Moltar on toonami and all that. Back when the network was dedicated to showing old cartoons. To be fair some of it's best shows came later in the new animation period of it's history (Dexters Lab, Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, teen Titans, ect.). But now it seems to be falling under what TV Tropes would call "Network Decay", in that they seem to have abandoned there Original ideas in favor of crappy live action non-scripted knockoffs but with kids (non-scripted shows like game shows and reality shows being cheap to produce). I can only hope this new direction fails miserably so maybe they will learn there lesson.
But then again maybe that's what kids like. I admit I'm not exactly in the target audience anymore. But Fosters wasn't even that long ago and I LOVE that show, and by all accounts it was pretty popular with kids as well.

06.24.2010 - 12:30 | XejickaI was at OMG! Con this year and I did see the Cat there. You inspired me to get my own kitty ears. It's nice to finally watch this podcast all in all.
I am looking forward to the new Tron movie. I wish it would have the same technological impact as the original did in the 1980s.
I don't like how Sony keeps making this stuff that would cause you to spend so much money on new equipment so quickly. I don't care that much about graphics. Don't get me wrong, they have to be decent, but they're not my main focus when I get a game. I look for fun gameplay, good story then graphics. Those are just my priorities with games, I can't say the same for everyone.
In talking about the rebooting of franchises, I want to bring up Advent Children again. That movie did regress in character development. Everyone likes to make fun of Cloud for being "emo", myself included. I just played Crisis Core. I loved that game, it did have character development and even though the game added so many new characters, it didn't ruin the story, at least not too much. That's what Advent Children should have done. As for Dirge of Cerberus... it needed to be a manga, enough said.
