To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)Dearest bloody hilarious Internet Celebrities,
Warning: sappy schmaltzy stuff ahead. A few months ago, near the end of May/Beginning of June, I was soooo down in the dumps. I've usually been good at feeling briefly depressed then pushing forward, but this was rough. And THEN I was introduced to this website, and all the talented, smart, and funny people who contribute. As corny as this sounds, you guys made me laugh in every video, and I just COULDN'T feel down after viewing this content. Extremely well thought out points beautifully intertwined with hilarious jokes that has me giggling just thinking about some of the gags days later. I'll just be clear real quick, it wasn't like TERRIBLE depression, but I was definitely feeling bleh, and all it took was a few vids from this site to put me in high spirits. I love the idea of something so simple as Internet critics being able to make people laugh on a daily basis without expecting endless admiration in return ::coughmostwebcomicauthorscough::, so thanks for that as well. So to Doug Walker, Rob Walker, the Mikes, Bhargav, Phelous, Lee, Dena, Linkara, Spoony, Lindsay, Film Brain, Angry Joe, Benzaie, Marzgurl, Goggles, Sean, Brad Jones, Sad Panda, Lupa, LordKat, Sage, Paw, Handsome Tom (And 8-Bit Mickey), and any other contributors I may have forgotten to list (sorry ~Ben EDIT COPIED FROM A LATER POST: I'd like to add something to my original post real quick. This really does have a site-related point, please read to the end, otherwise it just sounds like a pity-party. I suffer from Chronic Depression, as well as having recurring Pancreatitis, so the questions that are always in my mind are "Am I gonna be depressed all day today for no actual reason?" and "Am I gonna have to go to the hospital today, and will I have to stay there overnight or longer?" (I was in there for 3 weeks in Summer '06. ... So yeah, that was hell. Not just boredom, but early in the stay I was on something called Dilaudid (Look it up), which is much stronger than Morphine it seems. Pancreatitis hurts, you see. And so hallucinations, scary ones, were present for a few days thanks to the meds. The point I'm trying to get to is that I never wanna go through any of that again, and I was always worried about it, until I found this site, and I was able to truly laugh again for the first time in a couple years. I dare say Doug and everyone else are, in their own way, heroes. ... Yes I know that's overly dramatic, but I mean it. ~Still Ben Last edited by Blinus on Mon Oct 18, 2010 7:01 pm, edited 5 times in total.

Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)Here here! This thread rocks! I couldn't have said it better myself. Here's hoping this site makes you and everyone feel better. This site means a lot for a lot of people and it's fans like you that make it worthwhile.

Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)It really is amazing how much of an effect this site has had on people. It's brought an entire community together, and the contributors have accomplished amazing things, from raising thousands of dollars for charity, to making a full-length movie. I myself wouldn't have started my own set of Let's Plays if it hadn't been for Paw's LP of King's Quest V!
Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)This is probably gonna sound self-serving because it's a thread I started, but I think this "Appreciation thread" would be a good idea for a sticky. Or not, if that's presumptuous, but this could easily turn into a Crowning Moment of Heartwarming for contributors and viewers/readers alike.
Thanks to all who've responded thus far here or on my PM. Too bad Doug doesn't seem to post on the forums, I'd especially like him to see how much we think you all rock. TGWTG Tournament

Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)He knows, dude. He knows. His brother, Rob posts on the forums a lot as he is an administrator. He'll let Doug know what's going on. That and thousands of fans have shown support via donation drives hosted by Channel Awesome. He knows about the wiki, Twitter and Youtube and other projects all around the Internet. He goes to conventions as well. Trust me, I'm pretty sure he knows how his fans appreciate him.
I've come to realize in the two years that I've been here that this place means more than just entertainment. It's a community. While we do have some jerks, I bet the Walkers know that the rest of the people are grateful like you. Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)
That's good. I actually sent a message to Rob too, but he's all busy understandably so I don't blame him for not getting back to me. Hope Doug at least heard about my message. AND Bhargav and Spoony for that matter, I can't seem to reach them at all. I hope they see it. But hell, even one contributor seeing it is good enough for me. TGWTG Tournament

Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)Well, so far a fair few of the contributors have commented. I'm sure they'll see the thread one way or another.

Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)Help spread the word about this thread, it's like a digital autograph book to have the contributors post a little something.

Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)I think we all own a special place in our hearts for this site. This is my happy place on the internet too and that's the reason I help making this site more entertaining by tweeting about it. And yes Doug reads everything with the eyes of Rob ^_^

Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)It's good to see that this site can cheer you up at any given time, then.
That's what I really like about this site: since its been open, it's expanded to allow for videos that review movies, games, and music (in different styles, no less), and now there are specialists that cover exploitation movies, Bollywood movies, fan fictions, and even more. You're almost certain to find something that you'll like!
Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)Coming from a Texan: There aint nothin' wrong with a little sap! Truly laughter is the best medicine. Oh and plenty of water too.
keep watching!!!
Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)Thanx Eric!
And I agree about this site expanding horizons and finding talent that might've gone unnoticed Lotus. Hell, I'm writing a Saw retrospective blog thing in preparation for the final movie next month. If that goes well, I'll write more. I'm an amateur fiction writer to begin with. Maybe some schmuck like me could even get noticed! Thanx yet again all. ~Ben TGWTG Tournament

Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)This site does have that effect on people--sometimes watching a video on here can help cheer a person up, and it's an awesome community. Glad to have helped in some small way ^.^
Best of luck, Blinus. ---

Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)Yeah, it's always nice to find something that puts you in a great mood after a dark period. It happened to me when I watched Spirited Away for the first time.
Unfortunately, I'm not on the comedic side like the rest of my fellow producers, but they are all great at what they do, and going to this site and watching the videos when I can is almost always a high point of my day.
Re: To all involved TGWTG and Channel Awesome (Sap ahead)I'm really glad this has made a difference for you, Blinus, because it helps to hear that making a goofy internet video has made a difference for someone. Videos on here have helped me when I was down in the dumps, I'm glad I got to do the same for others.
