OK, here is a definitive list of rules for the forums. These are divided between two stages: there are Class A offences which will mean instant bans without warning and Class B offences, which will result in a warning (these last 90 days). A second Class B offence during those 90 days will result in a 30 day ban. You have been warned.
Class A: Instant Bans- Links to porn sites or other related material will result in immediate bans. (will also result in your account being deleted)
- Do not troll or bait flame wars among members.
- Uploading pornographic avatars or signatures. (will also result in your account being deleted)
- Do not post threads advertising services and/or products. (will also result in your account being deleted)
- Embedding poronographic and/or violent material in posts is unacceptable. (will also result in your account being deleted)
- Spamming. Just no.
Class B: Warnings- This is an English language forum, so please post in English only.
- Swearing in the topic title. Use asterisks instead. Consider that people may be viewing this forum at work.
- Any non-pornographic/violent material that could cause offence or may not be suitable for work, without a warning. (i.e. NSFW)
- Constant posting in a single thread/forum. Allow other people to respond instead of monopolising the conversation.
- While you're free to use strong language, try to control yourself rather than using a constant stream of profanity.
- Personal attacks at other members.
- Please don't link to illegal torrent sites.
- Deliberately bumping threads so they aren't archived.
- Feeding the trolls. Ignore or report them, but do not lower yourself to their level. It could make things worse.
- Posting loads of new topics in a short period of time. Allow people to respond to your other threads, at least.
- Including major spoilers in your post without warning (i.e. in the title) or using the Spoiler BBcode. While old, well-known spoilers (i.e. Vader is Luke's father) are acceptable, recent films, even if the twists are well-known (i.e. The Usual Suspects) are likely to still be considered spoilers. Post with caution.
- Excessive posting or postwhores will not be tolerated.
- Embedding videos into your signature.
- Quoting huge sections only to post a reply to small section or just to commend people. Please edit quotes to just the parts you are replying to.
- Posting lots of high resolution in one post. If you have a thread with lots of pictures, please put a 56k warning, just in case.
