In light of recent events in Japan, why not turn this into a charitable fundraiser? People who want the NC to review this film, can offer to make a generous donation to the Red Cross.

I don't think Jumanji would be the right film for that, given the earthquake that occurs at the climax.

I remember it happening pretty soon after the game reached four players, and Wikipedia says it specifically happened after the hunter first entered.

there's alot to make fun of, like robin williams, scary images even though it's for a kids film, that actor that plays two characters, lame special effects, some of the lines they say,etc.

That's not what it is. I think he's trying to say that there isn't much to make fun of. Also, I heard from someone on Facebook that Doug doesn't like it himself, but doesn't want to do it for the reason I just said.

I'm not going to keep pestering him to review this, but I'm hoping they'll get a sudden burst of creativity and manage to turn out a decent review. Despite what Rob says, this movie DOES have a lot to make fun of, so I won't lose hope just yet. If he thinks they'll upset fans, I guess that's understandable.

Here's a thought: If NC would ever review Jumani, why not make it a double review where he does both Jumanji and Zathura, since they're pretty much the same movies with different themes? I know Zathura isn't that old, but the fact that Doug is gonna review TMNT is proof that he makes an occasional exception, right?

Zathura the movie was a load of space crap. He could make a double review, though Zathura isn't exactly a sequel or a direct revamp of Jumanji. Aside from the story pattern, and the board game theme, they're sort of unrelated. It seems the rule to the exception is that it must be a sequel or a direct revamp of an 80's-90's film or television show. So, I wouldn't think he'd include Zathura.

ACTUALLY Jumanji was based on a picture book of the same name.
Zathura was the second book in the series... and in those books Zathura takes place after the events in Jumanji so it IS a sequel.

Here's something that really bugged me.

After the scene where Peter rolls a 5 and Alan comes out of the game, he runs out of the house in search of his parents. Carl, now a police officer, is driving by and Alan jumps on the car.

Carl asks Judy if they know Alan and she replies "He's our Uncle."

Later, when Sarah comes into the picture. they are walking down the road and Carl drives by and starts putting Alan in handcuffs to take him in for questioning.

Sarah yells "You cant take him. He's my..."

Judy finishes saying "Her fiance"

Carl replies "Wait a minute I thought you said he was your uncle?"

Is he dumb? Alan can be both Judy and Peter's "uncle" and Sarah's "Fiance".

I love Jumanji. I find it to be pretty creative especially during it's time.

Anyone find it strange to think that Joe Johnston and Jon Favreau each directed at least one Avengers movie, and a movie based on a book Chris Van Allsburg wrote about a board game coming to life?

This one doesn't really fit either mold for an NC review, it isn't bad enough for him to rip it apart, and there isn't really much to make fun of. It's just a simple adventure story.

I think I preferred the tv show though.
