I heard that there supposed to be a cameo of the original Dr. Smith Jonathan Harris but he refused, he said something like "Yes, they offered me a part in the new movie--six lines!" And Bill Mumy was offered a key role in the film, that of an aged Will Robinson who appears in the "Spider Smith" sequences, but due to a scheduling conflict, Jared Harris was cast instead.

Casting another vote in for Lost In Space. This movie seemed to be made at a time when movies wanted to be darker and edgier but couldn't do it quite yet.

Funny, I recall seeing a short preview for this on a VHS copy of "Batman & Robin". At first I thought, "Wow, this probably looks better than the movie I'm about to see (Which is probably true, when you think about it)!" But boy, was I wrong! NC, just tear this movie a new one for god's sake! do it for the original series this movie was based on!

it has some decent actors in it, like oldman, but has some of the worst special effects i have ever seen, right up there with the mummy returns

Wow, I quite liked this movie. It had some pretty dumb moments but in the end it held up quite well. Maybe if you compare it to the original that it doesn't hold up but still ... I was shocked to see this on the future episode list.
