Lost in Space

Postby Movie-Brat » Fri Feb 20, 2009 10:30 pm

Alright, now there's this film. It's called Lost in Space, based on (well to me) an uninteresting sci-fi series of the same name. When first released, it beat Titanic at the box office but when you watch the film, it's just as ridiculous as Titanic.

After 16 weeks, you'd think it would have gone down sooner.

Hell, it took less than that for Dark Knight to drop down to #2

Fanboys give up on seeing a movie 13 times while teeny bopper girls wanted to see Leo DiCaprio constantly..

Woah, I didn't know there was a nineties movie adaptation to that fundamental building block for science fiction. I can only imagine how much they must have screwed it up... let me guess, did they idiotically add a bunch of the campiness of the show for an attempt at nostalgia?

DANGER DANGER NOSTALGIA CRITIC! CRAPPY MOVIE AHEAD CRAPPY MOVIE AHEAD!

I remember seeing some of this movie and getting bored.
I also saw an advertisement for the DVD in 1998 and to me was one of the first DVD ads.

You know that monkey thing that appears at one point in the movie? That was a toy company's idea.

You mean that awful looking CGI monkey thing that looks like it skipped the final rendering in post-production? :?
This has nothing to contribute or any links to apply, which makes this sig *ding* entirely pointless .

Man, I remember enjoying it as a kid. I'm actually half-tempted to find it again and watch it, see if it's as bad as it looks here. I mean, Joey as a space marine? Hopefully the badassness of Gary Oldman helps swallow this one down.

Sadly, not even Gary Oldman saved the film.

Oh yeah, I remember this. Not exactly a good movie - IIRC the villain gets bitten by some space-bug, mutates into a monster (gee, that's original!), and somehow ends up getting eaten by his own minions. Yeah, that's pretty lame.
