great review of a terrible film. hasnt anyone learn their lesson that movies of games are terrible??????

not even a film of Zelda would be good!

I think Critic, Linkara and Spoony should take on Uwe Boll: 3 on 1!!!
More Than Meets The Eye.

Most Anticipated NC Reviews:
Inspector Gadget (1999)
GI Joe:The Movie
Batman: The Movie
Gobots / Rocklords Movie
Star Wars Episode I
Small Soldiers

Well, I never saw that film coming.

Possibly the worst film yet reviewed on the TGWTG site - at least Batman and Robin and Garbage Pail Kids had some semblance of cohesion, however slack it may be.

Long live crossovers!!

Yeah, the "connection" with Sonic Underground I was implying was because they were both based on video games.

While people are complaining that we've sent mixed messages, we HAVE done post 2000 movies before. We just don't like to advertise that we WILL do them, because we only do them once in a long while. Cause seriously, 99% of post 2000 movies will be rejected. So don't bother. But as heads of the site, even if we say we won't do something, we still reserve the right to bend the rule once in awhile if we think it will be funny enough. Sorry, but it's good to be the King.

We did receive a ton of requests to do Uwe Bolle films. And I'm pretty sure Spoony has as well. It IS nostalgic, inasmuch as it was based on a classic 1992 video game. If you're a nostalgic gamer, you know the game. If not, turn in your credentials. I loved playing it way back when and it's still considered a classic today that continues to spew sequels. So yeah, we considered it fair game in the same way that Animated Titanic and Godzilla were.

I agree that the computer voice is annoying. However, just like The Good Son, Doug caught another death cold. When the blooper reel comes out on the Membership Section, you'll be able to hear how bad it was. Since we already did the cue cards and text crawls, we decided the robo-voice was the only other way to get his comments out there. Believe me, he was disappointed. I mean, we flew Linkara and Spoony out for this, and his voice died. We were all plenty pissed. But as an alternative, I think it works just well enough to succeed. We apologize for any inconvenience.

For the record, this review was shot 4 or 5 weeks ago -- not during the brawl.

Many thanks to Spoony and Linkara for pitching in with all their great jokes. That was one of the funniest writing and filming sessions I ever participated in!

Rob, was the robotic voice Microsoft Sam? I'm getting asked that on the wiki by someone. I did the summary last night and I put in Microsoft Sam and now I have a Douchey McNitpick. He said it was something else. I said it sounded like MS Sam to me. Fun. So, what was the voice program used?

This was a great review. I've never seen an Uwe Boll movie. I think my brother played the original Alone in the Dark back in the day. He had to have. There was just so many games he had. One of them had to have been that. Anyway, sucks that Doug had a cold. Hope he feels better by now. It's been a few weeks. This was without a doubt one of the most epic reviews on the site.

But, yes, I remember that game. I get my credentials back, yes? Not to mention my right to yell at kids and tell 'em to get off my lawn. I kid.

Great job. Looking forward to next week and Blank Check.

I dunno, Heathers is a cult hit and has a reasonable 7.3 score on IMDb, while Very Bad Things was also a much better movie than Alone in the Dark.

Best review since Sidekicks, and this was better than that one. Probably in my top 5.

The face NC had before I even played the video had me laughing in the library

Great Review. Love crossovers

You three were funny as all hell. I especially love the part when you joked about the random people coming in and getting shot.

I SHIT YOU NOT. I never said I hang out with geniuses.

Didn't she see Doug move during the video? Does your friend happen to be blonde?

I apologize if I came across as somewhat of a Douchey McNitpick. I appreciate everything you guys do and you never fail to make me laugh my ass off. It just came across as a little confusing because of how recently the film was released, but I do see the nostalgic connections. I never played the video game so I was kinda out of the loop.

I thought this was an awesome review! NC, Spoony and Linkara were an awesome trio for this bit. Good lord was the movie awful. x_x

Careful guys, Boll might wanna take you all on just to satisfy his selfish ego. Hope your voice returns soon Doug! Love your stuff. Long time lurker, first time poster. ;)

There seems to be fairly consistant rule that the worst the movie is (Streetfighter, North, Sidekicks, Twister, Ferngully, Godzilla, Garbage Pail Kids etc) the funnier the review of it - movies that are not that awful on principle (The Page Master, TMNT, Rock-a-Doodle, and of course Last Action Hero) tend to be more forgettable in my book. However the trend is bucked when you have a great review and a fairly decent movie (The Good Son).

What do you think?

Did anyone else notice that when Bhargav delivered the pizza, he was dressed as Ma-Ti, and said "heart" when he was shot?

I loved the review, though my only complaint was they didn't show more of the last 30 seconds Evil Dead.

I found the last 10 minutes on YouTube, just skip ahead to 7:57.

I was wondering about that. The robo-voice thing was pulled off very well though (especially considering it was an emergency fix up).

OK, just so everybody knows, the program for the robo voices that the NC and Linkara use can be found on this program called Speakonia. Here's the link if you want to download it:

http://www.cfs-technologies.com/home/?id=1.4

Although I have seen speakonia used way before I saw TGWTG use it. Some of those time were good...and some of them were for all the bad reasons. And by bad, I mean disturbingly, yet hilariously funny. Here is an example:
