There were so many sleepless nights of desperate button mashing and code-imputing just to get to that final bosstard. [I always called bosses 'bosstards' because I didn't get in trouble for it. I guess it would get me in trouble if I were raised in Britain, but I digress.] It would be so worth it to vanquish 8-bit evildoers even if it meant showing up to school the next day all glassy-eyed and slurring your words. Remember that? God, I do. In fact, that was basically my childhood. Imagine a hung-over looking little girl carrying an issue of NintendoPower everywhere. Yep. Me. Remember DOOM?? That was the first real game I had ever played. I was 3. Mom was concerned I'd get nightmares, but Dad would always encourage me. Mowing down imps, looking for easter eggs, getting our asses handed to us on nightmare mode... it was an addiction. Then came Starfox on the SNES... sure I had played most if not all of the NES games, but Starfox always sticks in my mind because it was the first game I beat all by myself. What game do you remember beating for the first time? The glory... To this day I'm still a pretty heavy gamer, but I'm an artist more than anything. Check out the Vault to see some of my drawings of ThatGuy, if you want! I've only uploaded one so far, but I'll try to do at least one every 2 weeks. Take care of yourselves~! Love, Bordeaux
