Star Wars: The Clone Wars Hello and thanks in advanced for reading my review of Star Wars: The Clone Wars starring Matt Lanter, James Arnold Taylor and Ashley Drane. Now I understand that a lot of people out there hate the Star Wars prequals. Now I grew up with those prequals. I was around 7 years old when I saw Episode I and I loved Jaja Binks because he was a childrens character. So then when Episode II came out I was into the action and the intensity of the movie and when Episode III was around I loved the action, the revenge, the darkness of the movie and then I watched Episode IV, V and VI. So when I saw the trailer for this I thought "Oh....god...." but I went to see it anyway, I wasn't planning on seeing it in the theatre but for one I want to give my opinion to people and I know you guys like reading the reviews and I have a friend who loves the Star Wars movies and really wanted to see this. So the movie starts with this 'old-time radio' narrator telling us what's going on with the Clone Wars so far. It was kinda lame and unexpected but what I didn't expect was all the twenty minutes of action that followed after that. Okay, it wasn't that good action. It wasn't that interesting. There was no real plot following all these goings on that were happening in front of my eyes. But I sat there and watched. Now Anakin Skywalker gets a padawan called Ahsoka Tano. This followed with bad dialogue like her calling Anakin 'Skyguy'. We then get a weird looking Yoda come on and tell us that Jabba the Hutts son...yeah that's right...HIS SON got taken from him by the Seperatists who plan on using this to frame the Jedi so that the Hutt clan join them so that they get all the helpful tools to win the Clone Wars and not the Jedi. So we get a baby Jabba, a padawan who calls her master 'Skyguy' followed by pretty horrible dialogue. I think by now I realized that this movie was not meant for me anymore. The action in this movie was...passable. The droids did nothing but miss every target and say some jokes that actual made me chuckle a bit. I'ts no where close to watching the live action lightsaber battling in the other movies so it loses a lot of it's appeal. But then again they can do a lot of bigger explosions and more crazy lightsaber moves. But because I had such low expectations for this movie it was actual pretty interesting. And that goes for the story as well. I actual got into it about half way through and I got used to it being a kids movie and not meant for teenagers like me anymore. The voice acting was pretty convincing but Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee and Anthony Daniels all returned to their original roles and even though the dialogue was pretty bad they didn't say it in a 'wooden' way as I thought they would. Speaking of wooden. The animation is....different. You inevitably get used to it about a quarter in. But their hair doesn't move and it does look pretty weird. But it makes the droids look better as they don't look as stiff anymore now that we've got Stormtroopers just standing still shooting while on the other side are droids standing and shooting. Now it's obvious that George Lucas is just miling the tit of the Star Wars franchise as much as possible with this. This movie is a pilot for a Star Wars show that's coming out soon. Will I watch the show on TV? NO. DVD? No. I have no interest in the show even though this movie was enough to watch through the end. But it's also obvious that Star Wars is not meant for me anymore, and neither for you. Unless you have kids. Kids will like this movie from the droid humour to the cute baby Hutt. But it's not for you and me who have seen Episodes I-VI and (maybe) enjoyed all of them. So this is a kids movie, do not see it if you are over.....eight years old. Maybe rent it if you really like the franchise. I give Star Wars: The Clone Wars: 54%
