Goddammit now you have me wanting to look up the Freakazoid theme on YouTube, I forgot how it goes! AND NOW I WON'T FORGET IT FOR ANOTHER 8-10 YEARS!! I'm fortunately too young to have encountered Duck Tales; in fact, I've heard it in Finnish more than English as I happen to own an MP3 of that version for reasons I can't recall.
Rocko's Modern Life had a pretty catchy song, and that... I dunno, I guess it was like an electric keyboard organ or something; anyway, that hook in the beginning sticks with ya like glue. |

I watched some pretty wicked spoiler crashes on YouTube and it makes me wish I had gotten a camera and done SOMETHING last year when this book premiered. I can't say I'm not above spoiling for hilarity, but merely using tact to screw with people for a more friendly laugh is a bit more respectable in that it takes more skill to pull off; kudos. |

Nice one; you two are great! Dear lord, Irategamer is the biggest bitch on the internet. He had best be one dedicated troll! I mean, the guy totally rips off AVGN's act 'cos he sees it as a way to make money, and then comes out saying he never played a video game, was NEVER A GAMER until he bought his whole collection on eBay in the past couple of years. And here he is reviewing shitty old games like he grew up with them like James Rolfe did. And after all this revelation... he still has his own army of fans! Tasteless, 13-year-old simpletons with nothing better to blindly follow.
And I even watched the guys' videos. He's clearly trying to steal Rolfe's style, because his swearing and rage has no heart to it. It comes out dry and nonthreatening, forced even. It's very pathetic; I really hope he's a troll. |

You were born early enough to miss the boat; I was a babe of 1990 (the later part even, October) and this shit fell right into my lap before I knew any better. Ooooh the obsession I had. But, my parents were supportive and happy to cater to my first childhood fandom. Probably has to do with them being geeks themselves. And, they have a few fun stories to look back on about the swarming hordes of parents flooding Toys-R-Us at Christmas time fighting to get to the new Power Rangers toys first. |

When I look back on it, they picked a bizzare spectrum for the Rangers. Red, blue, yellow... OK, the basic colors, good deal. Pink 'cos she's a girl, and... black? Oh right, because he's black (that was my five-year-old logic before I learned how racist I was).
Then they meet a kick-ass new ranger whose green, but you feel like he's better than the "normal rangers" 'cos he has a mantle and a flute that summons a fuckin' plesiosaur Zord. Then he gets upgraded one day from green to white. Now, this all made sense to me as a small child but now that I look back on it...
Red, blue, yellow: gotcha. Pink and black... I guess I can give you pink, but black? The most evil and disheartening of colors? Why is the green ranger a later addition, why isn't green one of the beginning colors? Black should be a special color like white. And then we get a green ranger, and he becomes white! So now we have the three primaries, pink, white, and black. WHY NO GREEN?! I can understand passing up purple and orange, but that rainbow where they turn into colored energy and teleport just looks wrong. |

I kind of liked that movie. To be fair, it was innovative. It was a monster movie, but what monster movie before puts you right into the first-person perspective of an unsuspecting citizen of the city being terrorized? The position of the guy whose head-over-heels for some moody broad and he sees her get attacked by little monsters and then they get away and he thinks she's OK but they find a military safehouse and everyone starts rushing around all of the sudden she's pulled behind a screen and she explodes and he never sees her again! I guess that was a bit of a run-on sentence but I got caught up in the moment and started imagining myself ranting my own words in your bum reviewer voice and... oooh, I can't stay mad at you! I may think more highly of this movie but you're just a barrel of laughs! And at least you gave it some credit. |
