I decided to create another round of movies that didn't need sequels, considering the rousing success of my first list (five comments isn't too bad). ...
In a time when most people desire to write lists, I've decided to throw my own into the fray with a short list of movies that never needed a sequel, b...
I'm not sure if it's because I'm feeling sentimental this evening or not, but I don't think that it was right for the Nostalgia Critic to review this movie. Only the nonsensical ramblings of Chester A. Bum could review this movie while still maintaining the movie's sweetness.
I see that a vast majority of people who cut down your reviews and reviewing style seem to point out the little bits and pieces of anime that most people don't notice. I'm going to assume that those who do so are actually hardcore anime fans, as characterized by the commenter hooking together the Trigun anime and manga differences.
You don't preach to the choir, Dude in the Suede. Your reviews speak to those of us who don't usually watch anime, and tell us the good things that it can represent. You don't sugar-coat, describe things as the "BEST EVAR", nor do you showcase just how weird and horrible the experiences can be. You just show us what is and how you feel about it. You have my congratulations on perfecting a reviewing style that is not just refreshing to us watchers, but is downright impossible for most reviewers.
I look forward to your next review.
*Sigh* Once again, another television show that should have been a part of my childhood! At least I get the Spoony take on it, and I'm actually glad it was you who reviewed the show. I have a feeling that you encompassed it's majesty quite well.
All of these Nostalia Critic episodes look dynamite! The only thing that confuses me is "Howard the Duck". I wasn't aware that Howard was an important part of our childhood, considering he's a foul-mouthed, cigar smoking midget duck who bags a hooker/stripper/supermodel/whatever the fuck she is...
Wait wait wait...Brilliant ending, ThatGuy...but does this mean no more questions!? Great gatsby! I can't wait till the next episode when you answer everybody's questions about your...sudden disappearance.
There are only two alterations I would make to this list. First, the Aristocrats joke isn't even a Nostalgia Critic video. It's one of ThatGuy's general classics. Second, I would have put "The Wizard" review in the number one slot. I honestly think that it embodies a LOT of NC's critiquing style into one cohesive whole. And who can't tell me that his Lucas monologue isn't the most awesome thing in that video? He even adds special touches to remind of us Lucas' awesomeness (Lucas appears; "Chick-i-chick-AH"). The only thing that eclipses it would have to be the surprise twist ending. (No spoilers, but I can tell you that I looked it up; It's not true!)
Ugh...When I was a kid, I took bad movies up the ass too. I remember looking at the "Super Mario Bros." movie and thinking, "God, this is horrible. It's nothing like the game! But if this is what good movies are supposed to be...Ok."
Thank god I've wised up since then...and now watch horrible movies as a hobby instead of deluding myself. Brilliant work, my good man!
*Looks you straight in the eye.* Optimus Prime is not the most awesome robot that ever lived. There, I said it!
I love the list you've compiled! I've always been a huge fan of robots in general (even once wanted to be a mad scientist/robotics engineer as a kid!). I do feel it's a pity that you're missing out on some of the more classic robots on this list, such as Gort, Robbie, Robot from "Lost in Space", etc. However, the inclusion of Canti from FLCL soothes my savage geeky whims and I'll let it pass.
WHOOO! I'm glad that you DIDN'T do E.T. for the Atari! And kudos to you guys for both doing a movie and a video game that I never heard of. 100% awesome!
I'm getting a little tired of the references to past "Ask That Guy" installments, but it was worth it to hear that Ben Franklin wound up in Hell. After all the women he lusted after in his time, I found it funny to hear.
Joke's not funny if you have to explain it.
Brilliant work, ThatGuy! I totally didn't expect that reaction, and I almost died laughing!
