I have to say, I didn't really grow up watching Transformers, so some of the movie was a bit lost on me.
But in any case, I felt it was a good movie, despite the fact it went slightly over the top with the importance of the missiles and the rock base and all of that.
The only thing that was worthwhile was getting to see the Transformers themselves. A brilliant job of CGI work there.
Ok...
That was slightly disturbing, but in a good way.
I agree with NC, though. Who'd want to hear Simon say "marijuana"? I know the message they want to convey, but TO HAVE HIM ACTUALLY DESCRIBE WHAT IT IS!!!
That is fricking insane! It gives one some disturbing images of Simon in the basement experimenting with marijuana. *shivers*
In any case, that song is annoying as hell. I'm glad we did not have to listen to it all.
Anyway, having not seen this piece of crap (the actual movie) I am a bit saddened by because I would have laughed shitless at it.
And that is probably the most worse excuse for a villian I have ever seen! It is obvious where Fern Gully got their inspirationn from, though he is based on toxic waste, not wasted toxic.
Anyway, I'm going off topic. For those who want to know one thing...PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T LISTEN TO THAT SONG!!!

Okay, I admit it, I was..no, still am a Power Rangers Fan.
I watched them mostly instead of Transformers or GI Joe or others that the NC used to watch.
But, I digress...
The point is, I actually LIKED the original movie, but maybe that was because I was a die-hard fan of the series. But I can see what you meant with the flaws...nort just with the movie but with the series as well. Is it me or are the mistakes more noticeable in the movie then in the series?
Anyway, I enjoyed your review NC of the Power Rangers as a whole, though it was mostly focused on the movie. Then again, if it wasn't we would not have those great moments like when you over-dramatically was happy with the "re-birth" of Zordon and the whole "Frog/Kissing is my power" thing.
And of course they hit him in the groin! And of course a kid can operate a fire hose on a crane! I think his dad is a fire fighter or something. And of course he can...no, wait, how the heck did he operate that monorail??? Anyway, I think people need to know that the kid did not operate the crane himself, he had help from Bulk and Skull. BUT THAT STILL DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!!! Since when were Bulk and Skull able to operate machinery???
In any case, it may be sappy and the CGI is crap, but I like this movie better then the sequel (Power Rangers Turbo: The Movie) because it still had the dumb humour that I loved growing up with.
SimonW.
Yes! I loved those movies!
Shamefully, I have to say I also liked (not loved) the third movie.
Though I skipped the Ancient Japan stuff and just watched the fighting scenes. I finally watched it all the way through and...well, I think you can guess. *shivers*
Yes, NC, good point. They are BeBop and Rocksteady. And don't let anyone tell you differant!
Also, fricking anti-climatic! Those SOBs actually made the piviotal fights at the end of the movies the most pathetic ones I've ever seen!
Still, despite this and the DAMN! every few minutes which I hardly noticed back then or now until you pointed it out to me, I reckon the first two movies are the best of the franchise in TMNT Movies. And of course, the first was better then the second, as most cases are.
And on that note I'm going to grab a slice of pizza and shout out "COWABUNGA!" with the turtles at the end of the first movie. Really...it's a classic.

I know there are a share of scary clowns but the one I mostly feared was Pennywise from Stephen King's IT.
I was surprised not to see it on the list, but since it is Nostalgic stuff that was shown and you reviewing, I forgive you.
I like the list you made, though. It was a good look back at those moments that used to terrify us way back when. And yes, I was one of those persons scared of the demon dogs in Ghostbusters. And the guy in nanny drag...I used to think he would kidnap me (when I was a child).
And of course, The Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang used to scare me shitless aswell.
But enough about my Pedo-phobic problem and back to the list.
I have never seen the Care Bears Movie, but seeing that snippet got me interested...though I doubt I might be able to find it.
Yes, as a child I was scared of the Snake from Beetlejuice and The Wicked Witch from The Wizard Of OZ....I leda very troubled childhood.
Still, it was great to re-live watching these horrors that used to frighten me at a young age and I like to congradulate you on a great list.
SimonW.
I liked that but I am not falling for it! Everyone knows Luigi and Mario are brothers, Luigi was talking figuratively that Mario was LIKE a father to him.
Still, to take it seriously as a joke was pure genius to me. I laughed at that and the "Mario/Mario, Luigi/Mario" bit. Took my back to the old Abbott and Costello days.
Yes, "Ba-Bomb" and "Monkey" your way to stardom Dennis Hopper!
Anyway, to take the movie seriously for a second...you gotta admit they did not have much info to go on from the games. Still, I enjoyed the whole half-dinosaur thing and felt it was a good idea...BUT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MARIO BROS.!
It seemed like they had an idea for a movie already and then decided to make a movie based off the Mario games and couldn't come up with ideas and said "screw it! Let's just use this other idea we have been working on and put the Mario Bros. idea into it". NO FREAKING SENSE!!!

I am going to be truthful, I was dreading replying to this review because I didn't like the movie at all.
I like your review, just not the movie itself. I was so bored with it I had to skip to the end and that was no better then the middle of the movie!!!
I'm sure there were great moments in it but I was seriously so bored I actually liked the beginning with the whole party scene that when it stopped there I said in my mind "Hey! Why'd the party stop??? This topic was just getting interesting...OMG! Why the heck are we running down these stairs???"
And that was when it turned sour to me. Maybe there are those who liked it but I have to say I seriously did not get the movie. I gave it a shot, but it looked deeply bland in a depressing way and did not interest me enough to watch it all the way through.
As for the review, what I know from it because I did not watch the movie fully, I gotta tip my hat to NC for describing perfectly what it was like...and in the Bum's voice too!!
SimonW.
This is the reason I live! The ultimate battle of...uh....ultimate battles!
There is only one way this can go down!
The NC arrives and they start to suke it out, throwing punches and things and the NC starts beating up AVGN with Rolling Rocks beer bottles.
NC: "Suck on THESE rocks, Nerd!"
And then they have a showdown of where they feature or comment while beating the other up of their worst nightmares.
AVGN: "How about my Bat Credit Card, bitch?"
NC: "How's my Power Glove,Nerd?"
And so forth and so forth, putting it all on the line but they ultimately get tired out and as they are resting...
NC: "So, same time tomorrow?"
AVGN: "Okay, but you'll need to pay for my beer you douchebag."
NC: "NERDDDDDD!!!"
But of course I could be wrong. Would be funny, though.
I js want to get this out of my system and out in the open...I love you as a person and a critic!
I am not IN love with you because that would be just creepy. I just like your personality and your review.
I have never seen Teen Witch but somewhere at the back of my mind I think I've heard of it faintly.
But being a baby back in the near late eighties, I am glad I was not a teenager.
Anyway, I like your dog, OMG it is so cute!!!
And that has nothing to do with the movie.. *coughs*
Okay, yes, it seems like one of those stale movies about Teenage Girl angst that was commin in the Eighties.
And I agree with you that there was too much skin shown in the "making out" scene. What is this movie rated anyway?
As for the rapping, it was possibly the big thing that was comming out at that time but WHY THE HELL IS A WHITE BOY DOING IT???
Couldn't they have just gotten a black guy to do it? I don't mean to sound sterotypical (is sterotypical even a word?) but black boys (or girls) can rap better then white ones. And being white myself, that just shows how bad that guy's rapping really is.
Enough with the rapping!! Anyway, this could have been any kind of movie but had slapped the side-story of her being a witch (OMG! Is she a witch? I never would have noticed because this movie does not really convey that!!) which in itself one has to question. How does she use her power? By granting wishes...not by chanting or spells...BUT BY MAKING WISHES!!! Witches don't grant/make wishes, only Genies (and the occasional fairy/leprechaun) do!
And on that note I'd like to say I really enjoyed this review and hope to see you do more Nostalgia Chick. Two thumbs up from me!
SimonW.
This was the greatest Top 11 list yet of what you have ever done!
Nothing else to be said really. I scould go on and on about my childhood love of these cartoons (the ones I actually watched) but I decided to give a short reply this time.
NC to the max!

I take requests now. I don't tolerate smart-arse comments (not really, comment away in any form you like!) and you should all look forward to strolls down memory lane because I sure do. Upcoming Movie Reviews are:
