AMV Heaven: Episode 1

Where to start? |
My first Post so i better think of what I'm going to write down here...
Well first of all I think i'll mention some facts about Istiv Studios.
Istiv won several Awards with this Clip and even made another one, which was also very good. (more infos here http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_myprofile.php?user_id=27839)
When i first saw the Movie i thought... "ok he put a lot of work into it... but maybe it's just flashy but without real... well..content" (to be honest, a lot of AMV-Makers try to hide their Lack of ideas and skills behind flashy special effects).
But about Istiv... he's good. He did a great Job and shows what's the difference between a good AMV and a great AMV. (I consider some of mine as not bad/good while this guy is ingenious).
Now to: AMV Heaven....
Don't get me wrong. But the Name AMV-Heaven pretty much is a rip-off of AMV-Hell. But while AMV-Hell used to show a lot of AMVs you just show us one... wait, you don't even show it. You just say. "Yes this one is good because it has good lip-sync and was done great..."
For an AMV-Heaven i'd suggest you to show more Clips and show longer scenes of them. You don't have to show the whole Clips but at leaste 20 seconds of them in a row (maybe of the best part) or 1 Minute while making comments about the effects.
What i try to say is.... show us WHY you think those AMVs are great, try to look more like someone who knows what he's talking about, instead of just another Nerd telling me "woohooo look at that, it's so great." (sorry about the harsh comment, i tend to REALLY exaggerate sometimes).
And of course like any other nerd here too i'll leave you a link to my own AMVs so you can make fun of them in return. (I especially suggest the AMV Boom... it was my first wor... you can't actually call it work... i didn't really do something with it)

And last but not least....
don't let yourself down because of harsh comments, but think about your name. You're on the Homepage of "THAT GUY" and call yourself "THAT GUY" too. So you'll always have to live up to the expectations of thatguywiththeglasses fans... change your name and stay unique, otherwise you might just look like a rip-off and I think that would be a waste of talent.

My opinion on the Nostalgia Chicks |
Ok let's take a look on our future maybe-Nostalgiachicks.
Lindsay:
She's not bad actually, but after the first minute the only thing which got in my mind was. "will you EVER stop talking?!"
She makes some real funny remarks, but she talks just way too fast and too much so you got never time to really process what you just heard.
The Intro was nearly perfect "because the dudes won't"
The Jokes about Disney were hilarious
and she's probably every nerd-guys wet dream 
If she talks less and maybe a bit slower, she'd make a great nostalgia chick.

Sorry, didn't like her review.
The scene with the undressing was fun, but that's pretty much about it.
Sailormoon is way too easy to make fun of and actually, i didn't find the whole thing very funny at all. (BTW... Zoisite (the "girl" with the long hair fighting for beryl) is in fact a guy... in the french version he was even the BROTHER of the guy he made out with.. talking about gross french)

I like her hair, she makes funny puns. She made funny remarks about the whole series->movie->merchandising-thingy which is still going on and probably will never end.
But same problem as for Lindsay.... it never stops.
Please let us catch some breath. We are mostly men which means... WE ARE NOT BUILT TO LISTEN TO A WOMAN LONGER THAN 20 SECONDS IN A ROW.
We'd love to, but after those 20 seconds, everything sounds like the teacher from the peanuts...which actually was a woman too... hmmmmm

It starts great, just a little bit slower, and a little bit faster to the point.

Well what can i say about Lauren? Actually, not much. She's great. Her jokes are fun, she talks slow and clear (we guys need that). She's chosen a topic which actually noone else ever thought of (at least i hope) and the banana-end was hilarious. (again the man-side speaking ) In my Oppinion, this is the nostalgia chick.

I don't know why. She wasn't bad, but somehow her review just didn't catch on. She points out really good things but... i don't care. Don't know why. Maybe it's a karma-related...thing
BTW... the Intro, was hilarious. As the Thatguywiththeglasseswithoutwearinghisglasses would say.. "BOOOBIES!!!!!!!"

Fallout 3

Just one question...
Have you EVER played Fallout 1 and 2? I seriously doubt it somehow.
Fallout was never meant to be a Shooter-game. It was always supposed to be a tactical RPG. That's why they kept the VATS alive. And I have to agree with the others who mentioned it before.
If you don't use VATS you miss for sure and you run out of Ammo. If you don't understand how VATS works (based on your skills) you'll never be able to use it correct.
The main thing about fallout is, the big variety of things you can do. Your Science-skill is important if you want to hack computer terminals so you can activate the turrets.
Also with enough lockpicking-skill you can open up nearly any door.
You also missed the tactical variety because of your lacking VATS-Skills. Shoot an ant in its antenna, and it will attack the other ants.
Destroy a Turrets Aiming chip, and it will shoot at everything it sees.
There is often a way to let the enemies fight each other (the slavery-gun works well too).
But to finish my rant...
Fallout 3 is hard to compare to Fallout 1 and 2. It's now in 3D and it looks like a shooter. You're not nearly that free anymore like you used to be. (just remember Fallout 1 and 2, when your intelligence was on 1)
But it's really a good game. As long as you don't mistake it for Oblivion 2 or some stupid Shooter. |
