2008-08-10 04:48:08	Animenia - Weirdness: Hair		Shame you didn't mention the character in Elf Princess Rane who existed specifially to make fun of anime hairdos. His hair was blue, half fell somewhat normally, and half went upward in some sort of graceful curve... which kept falling down, and he'd have to brush it back upward a few times in every scene.

I need to see if he's got an archive somewhere, because I assume from those videos in the background that he's made quite a few.

2008-07-22 12:34:01	Top 11 Anime Openings		I'm going to dissent a bit as well. It looks like you didn't want to step outside the mainstream, or just haven't watched anything but the really popular series. I recommend hunting down the opening of Brigadoon (either of them)... if you want beautiful music and visuals that set the tone for a series, that's the epitome of perfection. I'm also a fan of the second season opening of Magic Knight Rayearth, but that's personal opinion. Other great ones include Jungle ha Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu (the OVA theme even made fun of the original), Princess Tutu (in its way), and if you really want to stand out from the fans in spotting brilliance, Tsukikage Ran a.k.a. Carried By the Wind. And let's not forget the original first opening of Kodocha... though it will never see U.S. commercial release, we all have a soft spot for it. And no mention of the endless remakes of the Lucky Star opening with characters from other series? That's what makes it so great!
2008-07-20 10:03:55	3 Ninjas		I think the ninjas appearing everywhere in their ninja garb was meant to be funny, in the vein of "Ninja Nonsense/Ninin ga Shinobuden", a series that takes ninja stereotypes to extremes while taking none of them seriously.
