I would definitely add the Ghost Pirates on the old Garfield Halloween cartoon. Just the music and the way they were drawn when the light of them was entering the cabin... They, AND the old man in the chair were fucking scary!
And the flying Monkeys in Wizard of Oz, and definitely those Wheelers, and the heads of the evil queen in Return to Oz. And the Southern Oracle in The Neverending Story, when their faces started to crumble... |

I always remember feeling uncomfortable when they painted him blue - like he was being touched in his "bathing suit areas". Not that i've been touched when i was a kid, but the thought always disturbed me ... and that they could do it to Big Bird was a really shocker, heh. |

The games i seem to be most playing lately is Mario Kart Wii, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and also Vice City.
Playing through No More Heroes again, which is fucking awesome and insane.
Metroid Prime Corruption i'm also near the end of my second playthrough.
Shadow of the Colossus and Psychonauts deserve some mention as awesome games. I have to say, though, that the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy is my overall favorite gaming experience, along with the God of War games.

Jeez, people are weird - being offended by you eating. How lame, haha.
Anyway - i think the movie was hyped a little more than i would have liked (hyped by friends and people whose opinions i trust), because i did enjoy it - but for some reason found Begins to be deeper and a better movie. I liked the Joker, but i don't see why Heath Ledger made him "great" - as anyone can talk in that voice, and acting insane is the easiest thing to act. It was good writing. I don't mean to rag on Ledger - i didn't know him and his work enough to really care about him - but he wasn't a god in his role just because he died! It's that whole "Hero" issue - "what's a hero?" - "someone who dies!"
Maybe again it was the hype, and i was expecting more than i'd already seen of him in the commercials when i shouldn't have been. I highly enjoyed the movie - that semi-truck flipping scene caught me off guard in such an awesome way, haha - but i couldn't really become as hopelessly infatuated with it like almost everyone else has.
Oh, and the special effects of Two-Face's bad side - amazing ... i tried my hardest to see if i could spot any obvious visual flaws that send me back to "i'm watching a movie with CG" ville, but could find none. It was as if they actually burned that part of his face off just for the scene. That was awesome.
Anyhoo - like anyone cares, haha. |
